  • @ ronson232 I am more than aware of where Benedict Canyon is! i was speaking "in general". Its a high dollar area. If you look down, you can see Hollywood, along w/ the rest of L.A. So save youre geography lessons.

  • @lugger2010 If I stand on top of the Empire State Building, I can see New Jersey, but that doesn't mean it is in New Jersey. No need for you to get rude about, dimwit.

  • why do the numbers go to 10050?, just wondering as hear in england our streets only go to the hundreds at most, are there that many houses ?

  • @withthebeatles1 Yes, we have many houses here in the USA, to be honest...too many.

  • I am sure the family of the victims would of been thrilled that the house could of been a "tourist house." WTF are you thinking? Human beings were butchered here. It shouldn't be a tourist site.

  • They called it a "mansion'. It was far from it. Thats what made it so great. With all the over blown 1,000 plus room mansions in Beverley Hills, this was a nice, simple, "home", but its simplicity is what made it so beautiful. Us "little people" could actually see ourselves buying a house like this. Except for the fact that it was on top of Hollywood, which is why its proprtey value was through the roof.

  • @lugger2010 Benedict *Canyon* is not *on top of* Hollywood. It's not even near Hollywood, plus it is a canyon.

  • very beautiful house owner should not have torn it down . it should have become a tourist site a beautiful tribute to the beautiful fallen stars.

  • @Doll123Baby Thank you for your comment. I wish it could have been my house.

  • lovely house and gardens a real haven of peace and tranquillity....terrible to think what happened there. It had to be pulled down but to replace it with the hideous building that is there now is truly a crime in itself. Rest in peace all those that died there .

  • Pretty house. Looks like it belongs in the country.

  • That was not a kid friendly house

  • @karmalevel Sorry you feel that way about the house, thank you for you comment.

  • @GESgeorgie69 no I meant that a kid could have fallen down the cliff

  • @karmalevel Oh, sorry my mistake. I though you meant one less kid in the world would be OK. George

  • @GESgeorgie69 oh God no!!!

  • @GESgeorgie69

The house was leased to Trent Reznor, where he used it as a recording studio, he got a fair bit of grief the whole time he was there. But the owners of the property decided to pull it down for a bunch of reasons and Trent asked if he could keep the door if they were going to pull the whole place down. The door has since been repainted and placed at Trents former studio in New Orleans.

  • @MsDesecration The hole thing about Trent Reznor just makes me sick, he just trashed the place like a rock star child and then he clamed he knew nothing about the murders. I was told he was the owner after Rudy Altobelli.

  • Didn't Sharon only stay there only about a couple of months total, since she left for Europe soon after moving in, and had only been back for about two weeks?

  • What a beautiful house and property. Imagine the views. Such a shame what happened.

  • After the murders the house was quietly put on the market by the owner who was living in the guest house. several times. People looking at it realized from the media it was the Tate house and wanted nothing to do with it. Bad Karma! Jetaman@verizon .net

  • She was so beautiful, she wanted fame and recognition.. but she got it in the worst possible way :(

  • @NoTrainOnSundays So very true, she was so beautiful, thanks for the comment.

  • Wow that house was big. R.i.p. To all those who were murdered that night.

  • Great video.

The house was a beautiful place.

It is a shame that it was torn down.

The place that is there now is horrible looking.

It is WAY TOO BIG for the location.

When you drive up Benedict Canyon Drive, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Anyway, thank you for showing us the old house.

    The nice one.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • @GeorgeVreelandHill Thank you George for your comment, Yes, I am still sore about them tearing down the old house and putting up Villa Bella, I don't know what they were thiking. The old house was such a piece of history and now is gone. I luckily still have my memory and have many photos of the old house that I treasure. thanks again for the comment. You can visit my Flickr.com page and see many photos of the house and Sharon Tate. My name on Flickr is Encanto_Sunland

  • @GeorgeVreelandHill George, did you ever get to go on the grounds of the old house of Cielo Drive?

  • @GeorgeVreelandHill They had to tear it down. No one would buy that house and I don't think the original owner ever came back to the house after the murders so they just tore it down, removed the address and everything else that reminded people of the murders so there is a total different address there now and yes the house there now is huge and ugly but I'm sure that is what they meant to do so if any curious tourists tries to find the house that is what they will come to.

  • @Ilovedthe70s76 Oh but they did buy the house, the owner moved back in to the house after the murders and lived there for 20 years and when he got to old to keep on the up-keep of the house he sold it for a Million Six. Rudy sold it to Trent Reznor and then he sold it to some realtor who then tore in down and put up the new house Villa Bella.

  • a very beautiful home

  • @1978angiepooh thank you for your comment, It sure was a beautiful home.

  • @GESgeorgie69 The key word is WAS;the one there now sucks.

  • I love this video!!!

  • @ginjirotchi2 Thank you for your comment, I have loved Sharon Tate and that house for a very long time. I have a book on them that I auction on ebay some times to Sharon Tate collectors.

  • @GESgeorgie69 What type of book is it?? A photo collection with all the pictures?

  • @ginjirotchi2 The book is 101 pages of photos from my collection of almost 40 years on Sharon Tate. This book is full of photos I have taken of the house Sharon Tate lived in at the time of her murder and also photos of Sharon Tate.

This book is basically a coffee table book. Look for this book on Ebay under Sharon Tate, I only auction to other Sharon Tate collectors. Thanks for the comment. George

  • trully beautiful house and grounds - you can see why Sharon fell in love with it! thanks for this.

  • @TheTimmyH Yes, it was a wonderful house, I sure do miss not seeing it when LA.

  • Thank you so much for posting this...I love seeing all the awesome pics of Sharon's house & of the Twin House...they both were very beautiful houses & properties & it's a shame they are both gone. Sharon did have some happy times at Cielo so I try & focus on the happy times she had there & not that her life ended there.

Thanks again for sharing your pics with us!! God Bless!!

    Katie =^,,^=
