Thank you Cheryl Richer for your positive input on life at the Brotherhood of the Spirit commune(later "Renaissance Community") I too have fond memories of my time spent there. I never "joined". I lived in and around the area and made many friends that have lasted a life time. My 2nd husband was a member and we have a child together.

I enjoy this song as well as almost all the songs on this first album called "Spirit In Flesh" . I am happy to see that someone has put two songs from this album up on YouTube to share. The comments by someone below from a hurt and therefore angry individual have no bearing(I feel) on the music.

I say the same to you. I have no patience for willful ignorance, nor for someone who misinterprets everything to suit herself. You DID defend abusers and attacked those who said so. DER- Anything you don't agree with is "ranting"? No, I don't know your life, only the ignorant opinions you posted (then removed, ha ha). A true story told by that child (now an adult) at the Renaissance Community forum, now closed down because all the brave hippies fled it when abused people began to post their stories! Since you WEREN'T a member, you wouldn't know that. yet you stick up for the abusers. And you wonder why I'd "rant'. LOL.

I lived there too and the Brotherhood of the Spirit where this comes from was nothing more than a center of child abuse, economic exploitation and sexual predators. The band sucks too.

Bad music from hippiecrites. Michael, the lead singer, did coke while his followers were lucky to have warm clothes for the winter. He fathered numerous children, then ignored them. He drove a limousine while his followers signed all their money over to him and lived on tahini-miso sandwiches most days. He sexually abused women and his inner circle abused children. He was a drug-addicted alcoholic and got kicked out of his own commune. Dan Brown seems to leave all that out! I was there.

This is from the Spirit in Flesh album, the band being a part of the Brotherhood of the Spirit commune which was indeed featured in the doc "Free Spirits". The singer is Michael Metelica, the founder of the commune.

I don't know what that footage is, but it might be on "Free Spirits", a documentary about the commune/band that came out a few years ago. I also have video I took of the band when they did a reunion show this past summer, and I'll upload that sometime soon.
