@Fearlessthinker I have an AC power drop down by the panel. I run the panel power thru a micro-grid tie inverter and feed the solar panel power back to the grid. The drive system is powered from that AC drop. Since the gearing holds the panels in position, the stepper motors are only energized for a couple of seconds only when a move is needed. The power consumed otherwise is just what the Arduino and the LCD display draw.
Most people will not invest the time or money to build this.
