  • if i see this i remember all there ... i realy miss gambia and my family there.. love it

  • Genial!

Si te gusta africa visita el blog cercadeafrica.wordpress

  • Been to The Gambia 6 times now and I never get tired of all the hustle and bustle. The people are just amazing. Just love it.

  • i have to do a report on this place!

  • I really like Serrekunda, can spend full days overthere. :)

  • I visited The Gambia from march 11 to may 11 of 2009. I was born in The united states to a gambian parents. I love it over there. i am hoping one day, after college i will save up and build a dream house in the gambia, No place like the Motherland!!!

  • Interesting comments! I'm a Peace Corps Volunteer living in The Gambia for the last 11 months. I shop at the Serrekunda Market every Sunday. At 1st visit, I remember it being visually shocking and dirty and scary and loud and all those things we are so unfamiliar with in the states. Now, it's one of my favorite places to visit for all of those same reasons. It's so ALIVE! You just have to spend a lot of time in the 3rd world before you have right to comment on it (good or bad). This, I know.

  • I don't if Gambia looks like this or that or whatever, I know for sure that there are some world class dishes cooked in the kitchen of every Gambian home. I am crazy for African food. Gambian people are awesome. Poverty is here today, gone tomorrow, but childhood dreams, happiness, family, good food and good life can be found all around the world.

  • EXACTLY what I'm saying!

  • Why is it that they never show the nicer parts of Gambia? That is, if there are any. Why not show the nice homes, the major city or malls? I don't get it.

  • EXACTLY what I'm saying! Minus the one part about there not being any...

  • And like Dylanfan said, it's not the money that makes the value of a human being. If Bill Whatever his name is walked around and didn't shower for days people would still try to get in his inner circle. If anyone else did that they'd call them savages. I mean haven't we grown up. All these studies proving that all people come from Africa and that we're all equal and the same under the species homo sapien sapien, and still people are so racist. WHY?!

  • This clip is a very fair reflection of Gambia. Serekunda is the biggest town in The Gambia, its population is much larger than the capital Banjul. As for the nice homes. unfortunately by first world standards they do not exist, unless you count the homes that are owned by none Gambians like the Europeans and Lebanese. As for shopping malls, forget it, but there are some wonderful indoor markets. When an average wage is $250 a year you worry more about feeding yourself than getting to the mall.

  • Because Westerners don't know about the nicer places. Even ther were nicer places in Gambia, they will choose to go to the worse onces because they need to continually compare their status in the world the poor. western media molds their mind into thinking they are the "chosen people" or some stupid crap like that.

  • You are 100% rifght. That is why I hate Bbc, CN stupid N and all other propaganda western sponsored bullshits.

  • i cant believe how disrespectful some people are are and how you can judge a place and people when you have never been there yourself, i as a british lady have been to gambia many times and both the people and the country are beautiful. my husband is even gambian and he is the most pleasant man you will ever meet, gambia is a wonderful place and i will keep returning to my house there as it peacful, stunning and my 2nd home.

  • It's my second home too. I feel very at peace there. That's why I don't like all these assholes hating on it just because they saw it on a video, that's such bullshit

  • kikibaker101 go and screw you dad you fucking pussy.

  • You're a loser, go find a life, and learn to speak english while you're at it.

  • i live in fajara some where near Serekunda

hehe and the electricity is fucked off , every the electricity goes of even at night whene you are sleeping you sweat like a you are wearing jacket ;-)

  • What is the electricity supply like and what adaptors to take if any?? Anyone please advise!

  • i say banjul is busy very busy on the market but seragunda is busyr.

    arch 22 was awsome

    the croc pool 2

i was @ kombo beach hotel,

    i give a tip,

ive you go out side go left to the ofical tour guids,

and ask for moussa or mousef

    greetz my

  • Fuck all you Gambia haters -next time go to Hell you might feel at home. You a bitch thats why you got sick and could'nt eat the food was there and got nothing but LOVE. Gambia we LOVE-- See you soon "insha Allah"

  • fuck nasty, dirty, poor ass Gambia. You people suck and don't even think about coming over to the United States. We do not want you here

  • I would love to go there 4 a few weeks, but when I lived & worked there, it was a bit to long. Malaria 6-7 times, food poisoned and hospitalised once (foodpoisoned from a can with meatballs from england not the Gambian food from the market)

  • Tellingulikeitis most be gay and since his ass is not allowed in the gambia, all he has to do is post bullshit here.. love gambia always.

  • I just came back from Gambia and the people shine, i'm going back as soon as i can.

  • i swear its like that i was their

  • dikhead

  • ahah sure? i hate that plaqce never wonna go their again

  • nonone wants u to go there in the first place, go fuck ur mama man

  • OMG TY FINALLY SOMEONE AGREES...for all you dumbasses who say its good..your lying to yourself..

  • What a horrible disaster

  • dikhead

  • the only horrible disaster is ur mamas pussy hole where u came 4rm

  • GAMBIA is da best place 4 ever..with peace, unity & freedom....this video re just worst places in gambia

  • Its a bit backward and you get hassled by bumsters a lot but worth the trip. If you like heaven try Mauritius that place is ten times better than Gambia.

  • hey, I love Gambia. Its what they are used to and no they don't go to America.

  • I'm not Gambian, I'm English. The Gambians are a proud race and its a disappoint for someone to not embrace a culture that teaches love and respect

  • SHut the fuck up god. I'm tired of seeing your dumb ass comments. Not all the places are like this. that's the bottom line. I've been to dirty places like this and i've been to the capital which is nice. better than where I live in america.(Bronx new york)

  • I am with you brother. I lived in the BX for 4 years. I just came from the gambia little over a month ago. Westerns get brain washed about 3rd world countries. when they hear Africa, there is few thing that come through their mind is war, dirt, starvation and all the negative things you can think of. i was their with my GF n she was amazed. it has lot of impact on her life, she is more smart, understanding and loving. unlike AVERAGE "HAYAWAN" Americans. Especially New Yorkers

  • You got some issues mate.

  • Actually I'm american and I've been to gambia and it's BEAUTIFUL!!! I don't know what you people's problem is but you need to stop being so judgemental

  • fucking slut hope u burn in hell

  • Then stay here and never go and experience the world, but I stayed there for a month so yes it is beautiful. you should get a life

  • Let me get this straight. You stayed in a nasty ass country for a year and you are bragging about it. Please, who the fuck would want to experience that shit? Not me, the people look all fucked up and dirty, not to mention poor, I'll bet they smell like hot shit. The streets are all dirty and fucked up. You can keep Gambia. Stay the fuck over there

  • You're an asshole. Oh...no, let me correct that. You're a stupid asshole. And there are parts that are poorer than others, and parts that are really nice. Until you've seen everything you can't judge anything. Am I wrong?

  • Well if there are parts that are really nice, than why isn't anyone posting them? Every video or picture I see of Gambia, it is dirty and nasty. The people look dirty and nasty. They look so unhappy and suppressed. Nothing good comes from Gambia, so shut your face, bitch.

  • BS its not beautiful...you need to open your eyes and stio making pity comments

  • Have you ever been there? It's different than watching it over the internet or on a video. Not everyplace is bad. Some are some aren't. That's like saying that Cleveland and Beverly Hills are equal. I'm a native of C-town, and we strugglin', but they're both in the same country aren't they? Every place has ups and downs, it's not fair to judge the entire country by just one little video. Besides, Banjul (the capital) looks nothing like that.

  • I have never seen a clean version of Gambia. It is all dirty and nasty looking. The people are dirty and nasty looking as well. They look very unhappy and poor. If there is a good part, let it be shown. I don't think it exist.

  • Then maybe you should go and see for yourself. There are plenty of beautiful parts of Africa they never show. Like Accra, in Ghana, is a beautiful city, but whenever Africa comes up on TV it's the fucking jungle or some remote and poor village in East Africa. They never show the modernized parts. Besides, who are we to compare their ways of life to ours and judge them as worse. Just because they don't life like us doesn't mean their way of life is wrong.

  • I've been to gambia and stayed at a hotel and it's really nice. So what do you mean I don't think it exist

  • u r a dirty ass racism.

  • Serekunda is small but it's getting too crowded last time I went was in 2001, but my parents told me it has changed alot

  • i know some people from GAMBIA can show you around ---AFRICA LETs UNITE

  • klote land !!

  • home sweet home!!! remains me ratracing in the marketsqare...wantir wantir, jere halex ac anda bu jaga bi, dega la!!!

  • ive been exactly where you are driving :)

  • I love the Gambia, i've been there 3 weeks ago.

  • I have mixed feelings about the Gambia love the Gambians but the Europeans who are there

. They like Gambians because they serve them, I avoid the europeans they mostly want to talk eurocetnric bollocks. About how slavery was the fault of Africans without a single fact to back it up except that they are white and right.

  • Big up 2 all gambia supporters, anyone talk shit about gambia, we can meet in london corner\serrekunda and smash it out.fuccin bitch ass haters.

  • Gambians are all cunts. What you gonna do you cum drinker !!

  • home sweet home GAMBIA i love it

  • i went gambia and it was fukin mint i love it i stayed in manji kunda and i loved it

  • Hehehehe

You need to take a late crossing on the Barra ferry to get a good impression of Gambia.

Dont wear Nike trainers though as all 76 players from Gambia united work as helpers at the Barra ferry and need your trainers to play next weekend.

Remember "Its nice to be nice" you'll hear that phrase a LOT!

  • depends on your point of view and your attitude towards a place. when you have an ill heart, every place sucks ...

my husband's from the gambia and they drove by his mum's compound. greetings to the people!

  • u shudnt be...its not that great over there

  • Have you been there?

  • i have been there too..

  • ive been there to

    very sad

  • Could you write in english?!?!?!?!

And I've been wondering. Why are there so many Europeans in Africa anyway? Haven't you all devastated enough?

  • Because the ignorant poor ass African's let them come there. If you really don't want them there, FORCE THEM TO LEAVE!

  • And start a whole war against the entire European Union? Not even the United States would do that, don't be stupid.

  • hell on earth!

  • Well it's not so bad as it looks. People have enough food and water, connection to the sea, a huge river and a nice climate. Compared to africa, they are happy and rich people.

  • wat tha fuck yall on about?? there are loads of rich people there, i use to go shoppin here ok, we sure do have enough food and water, y'all always go to poor countries and fink dat u can embarres, but u cant change the fact that GAMBIA WILL ALWAYS BE A LOVELY WONDERFUL COUNTRY! THIS IS JUST A NORMAL CITY, WHY DID U NOT GO TO K-POINT AND THOSE SATES??and my relatives in gambia are richer than u, jsut for ur information

  • yo sup icejalow? u from gambia??....btw i go wit ur opinion..u r vry rite :D:D:D:D....

  • Don't you mean to say, compared to other areas in Africa? What about other countries such as South Africa, Kenya, Botswana? Every country has a ghetto...

  • lol no they not

  • What do you mean "compared to Africa", I'll have you know that Equitorial Guinea, a country in Africa, is one of the top 10 wealthiest countries in the world. Number nine I believe, out of hundreds of countries in the world. It wouldn't be nearly as bad as it is had it not been for european invasions

  • Oh and by the way, Gambia isn't a state, and serekunda isn't either. It's called country...let's say it together now, COun-Try.

  • Dir-ty, because that is all I see. Hey, I rhymed!

  • yall r so rude, if they did that to ur country u won't like it. so watch the way u speak and this vidoe is not true they r just joeulos of our natural beauty. i know cuz i lived there all my and am not gambian and is true that we dress good and have a very environment. so don't talk about it like that. IDIOT

  • oh yeah, u didnt go to other states cause u know it lokks better than ur country thats why u went to a normal, local city like serrekunda?!

  • I REMEMBER HERE!
