  • Even this is a serious course I always must smile when I her saying the word for "hungry".

In German this sound is used to indicate that you are close to vomiting . . .

However this video is worth a five star rating !

  • chaa gaay o janab...nhi reesan tadian.... mein pukkha, payasa, thakya tay zakhmi an k nhi?.... a ho gai siddi saadi punjabi translation...

  • Thank you, nice short and sweet.

  • Shouldn't the "bu" in the firsth sentence be at the second tone ?

You are the best chinese teacher on youtube !!

  • both thumbs up! Enjoyed this class a lot!

  • Thank you, I can not tell my mother in law that I am not hungry. She keeps trying to make me fat, and gets mad at my wife when I do not eat enough. Thank you, I am in Beihia for Chinese New Year, and now can tell her that I am full.

  • Comment removed

  • that means mouth

  • how do you say,"I do not wish to conform to the european/english government system"?

  • great stuff.

  • piao liang !!

  • wo hen E le ni E le ma?

can i use that sentence in hungry

  • yes! well done :-)

  • so does "lei" mean tired?

So could I say, "Wo shi hen lei"

Would that mean I am very tired?

  • yes, "lei" is tired. you can say "wo hen lei le" - you don't need the "shi" here. cheers

  • Wow, your English is really good. What kind of school did you attend in Shanghai? You barely have an accent. What is the difference between teng2 and tong4=hurt? Anyway, your videos are excellent.

  • thank you so much! your lessons are informative and easy to follow and learn from! ^_^

  • thanks for the great lessons!

  • Great series...

  • "ma" is usually used but not always (sorry about the fuzy rules ;-) Here you might use another "filler" word "ah" at the end. And you could also add the word you "ni" at the begining. So you might say: "ni ke bu ke ah?" "ni e bu e ah?" "ni lei bu lei ah?" "ni tong bu tong ah?". Hope this makes sense. Cheers.

  • Sorry for the late reply -.-

but yes it helps a lot!

    Xiexie ni ^-^

  • Hi,carpediem ^^

um..but i thought when you wanted to ask some one something you would put a "ma" at the end of a question? Like if you knew some one and wanted to know if they were good, you would say "ni hao ma?'

  • Is this Mandarin or Cantonese?

  • I think it's Mandarin (from the very tiny amount I know...)

  • Yup, it's Mandarin.
