The leave in conditioner smells nasty because of the ingrediants in it. I use a (35$) repair leave in conditioner called SOMA (reconstruct) and it is the bomb!! when I straighten my hair I use ENJOY (also 30$) *all of these I got from my hair dresser for free* I am mixed as well and my hair looked just like yours before I did the treatments. I cut all the damage off 2 mos ago and it has grow literally an inch plus. And I wrap it at night and it is so soft and beautiful in the morning. :)
@thosegirlsarewild Oh, I'm sorry about the video, I don't know why it does that, but ^^ I wrote the conditioner that I use,I only use it every other week, its a leave in conditioner, and it works best if you leave it in over night , and the Enjoy is like an oil, but it never and I mean NEVER makes my hair greasy, I usually (before the cut) I'd normally do my hair every week and wrap it every night. and now that my hair is grown out some, I think I will start it again.
As far as having pretty curls even if your hair is messed up from all the straightening, I (when it was longer) would wash my hair, cond....etc, and put some Luster's Pink Lotion on it and put two braids in it and then in the morning I would undo the braids with my fingers, NO BRUSHING BECAUSE IT WILL FLUFF...and it shouldnt be nappy anyway if you did nice braids, and bam! That's how I'd make my hair "curly" ...

@IMANIAWESOME Would you wear a curl bang until it grows out? If I were you, I wouldnt do it, because 9 times out of 10, you will get tired of it and straighten it out again. The best thing you can do is get a trim and go every 2-3 mos and every other week do a deep conditioning reconstructing treatment, unless it's beyond repair. If you can either braid your hair at night, or wrap it to keep from getting split ends. Hope this helps :)
