Great machine. I've got a 148 I'm working on right now. I've redone all the wiring and picked up a 147 for parts. Seeing your comments about the master selector unit makes sense for the one that came with the 148, they gutted everything for the remote wallbox operation. I was lucky enough that both record changer mechanisms work although the one seems to get hung up on record 20 for some reason.
@Jurrin Sweet. Can't wait to see it, be sure to make a video when you have time. It seems like a lot of people are working on these who have never restored a jukebox before, and new videos are popping up here each week. Good luck!
Thanksfor the info Iv gotta rip the mech out of mine to change the gearing to 50Hz yes i tries turning the motor shaft by hand it is stuck solid forward or back
@mjanesthomasb Hey there, I was lucky enough that the mechanism worked as found. The grease had pretty much solidified, so I went through all of the gears with some old toothbrushes and alcohol, then re-greased them. The record trays were a little jumpy coming out, so I cleaned each of the tray slots one by one with Q-tips and alcohol. I wonder where your machine is stuck on its play cycle? Can you turn the main drive shaft manually forward or backward to back out of the bind? Good luck!
That's a nice machine. I had a Seeburg M100B, Seeburg M100C, and a Rock-ola Comet. The M100C was the last one to be sold--3 years ago. Gosh, I miss them all. Good luck with yours and can't wait to see a finished video.
Just noticed yesterday that I've got that same ceramic light bulb socket that you have just hanging there, where does that socket tie into?
