@videogamepimp22 Conker's Bad Fur Day, Perfect Dark & Turok 2 showed off the N64's power more, RE2 had pre rendered backgrounds, only the characters where true 3D, also, the cutscenes of RE2 on N64 looked like crap, and the sound was horrible, the N64 just couldn't handle what CD did for the playstation when it came to cutscenes. This comes from a huge N64 fan btw
FUN FACT: One of the developers who co-developed this port of the game (Angel Studios who was later renamed to Rockstar San Diego) developed the RAGE engine for Rockstar games like GTA: 4 and RD:R. It's obvious these guys are really big technical nuts with all these accomplishments.
wow its nice to see people that dont lik RE4,5 as much as i do everyone here is probably older than me so they can talk from experiance but even if im young i can i can keep up with you guys....oh crap i just had a rebecca moment!! anyone here look and act lik richard?
resident evil 4 + resident evil 5 = action games, is like dead rising 2+ metal gear solid -_- what a waaste !!! poor resident evil. but the new resident evils are for new gamers that dont know the escense of the reals RE... resident evil 4 and 5 never but never will be clasics , what a shiity games, the worst spend of my life!!!
I have this game on N64. Its awesome, ahhhh These were the good old Resident Evil days. Resident Evil now just doesnt have that old game feel to it. You know what i mean. Anyway ya great video.
@mariofreak955 But the control scheme of Resident Evil: 0 is the same for Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, Veronica X, Resident Evil: DS, Resident Evil (Gamecube Remake), Outbreak File #1 Outbreak File #2. The only time the controls were changed were in Resident Evil 4, 5, Dead Aim, Umbrella Chronicles. Darkside Chronicles, and some crappy bad one that I can't remember. Anyway, the controls are outdated and just classic, I don't mind playing like that again, it just gives me that old-school creepy vibe.
I need MAJOR HELP in the Nintendo 64 version I did all 4 scenarios !! I saved and everything, I'm not sure if there's Mercenaries or Extreme Battle mode ;\
u gotta beat all senarios with a A ranking or higher, thats how u get 4th survivor. to get tofu Beat all Senarios with a A rank or higher and 4th Survivor with a A rank or higher. there is no extreme battle mode or mercenaries in the N64 version.
edthranger there the same on all consoles they didnt change anything your just saying its better for the n64 because you only have it for the n64 but i like it better for the n64 too because thats what i have it on
@chanceyyyboy Nope. Ps1 dreamcast, pc, gamecube all got the extreme battle mode that wasn't on the n64 version. n64 had compressed video and audio files that made the game sound and look weird.
i just meant like a console that primarily uses discs but can also read cartridges like the Sega Saturn could do, it would give developers the option to produce on discs or cartrdges then wouldnt it, games the size of Zelda and Banjo Kazooie were enormous on cartridges so surely cartridges are not as bad as some people - cough Sony cough - made them out to be at the time of the N64
so if they could do that then (the compression technology i mean) they could prob do it a lot better now, maybe someone should look into it cos its damn near impossible to create illegal cartridges so if they could compress a lot of information onto a cartridge it would greatly reduce video game piracy eh.
The issue that arises there is the space available for games. While the compression technology was amazing, I don't think many gamers would enjoy a Blu-ray 30GB game compressed down to a 1GB cartridge.
@spidermann26 Not only that but it cost more to produce a cartridge than it does a disc, at the time N64 was still producing games the average price to produce one cartridge was $75.
The compression technology was new at the time and very advanced for what it was. It is still a technological marvel what they did in terms of compression and graphic payoff.
Very advanced? Nope, just a lot of hard work and experimenting. Video itself was still MPEG1, I don't know what they used for the audio. Anyway, resolution was dropped from 320x160 to 160x80 and framerate from 30 to 15 (interpolated to 30 during decompression, though). It would have been interesting to see if N64 were capable of running H264, even at the ultra low res 160x80.

exactly what many people could feel about those games, the newer versions
just don't give the thrilling somewhat scary feeling that for example Resident evil 2
could give you, the old school camera still intrigues me, I still wish they could bring back the old school play feel.
advice: Resident Evil two was Originally made for the Nintendo 64 Console
system but was never released, instead it was released as an introduction
to the New Nintendo Game Cube.

The N64 was so superior to the PlayStation in terms of the Games it had on that they Port Resident Evil 2 on N64 and make it better.
I still cant believe, its like if Nintendo knew what games would be the best.
They didnt have the one before nor the one after. It had the best one and make it better.

ANGEL STUDIOS did it.
