  • I was 14 and hiding out in my room listening to the radio, in the dark, all night.....sad teen stuff...and I'm a girl....these songs make you feel loved, but by who ? He came for me in 1981 :) I am loved.

  • Thanx....again...:-))) for posting this great song :-)

  • @JukeBoxHero991 You're welcome... Thank you for being so appreciative of this masterpiece!

  • This is one of the greatest songs in the world

  • I can't believe I forgot about this song. Glad I found it again.

  • i see ME!

  • I'm holding on...I hope...thanx, Kansas

  • Okay, here's what I don't understand. Some people actually don't like this song? Perhaps they also like Rush Limbaugh. LOL

  • You're a child of the 70s/80s if you can remember when Chicago, Boston, Kansas, America, Asia and Europe weren't just geographical locations, but music groups as well. So much better than today......

  • Wow !! Thanks for putting it out here !

  • @monkeefan1965 You're so welcome! :)

  • despite what livgren was going through at the time, these are really inspiring lyrics for people who are losing the will to live. i'm not a big lyric fan at all, but this really helps in those tough times.

  • Just saw Kansas at the NIU convocation center with the NIU symphony. They were fantastic. "Hold On" was performed just beautifully.

  • I sing this to my mum when I'm on the toilet and she's bursting for a pee.

    "Hold on, Mummy hold on"

"You're closer than you think, don't go peeing in the sink"

But in all seriousness, I love this song. Kansas are definitely an extremely underated band.

  • @HeavyMetalTerrier You disgust me. Funny though

  • @HeavyMetalTerrier XD OH MY GOD LOL

  • sitting here at a wifi cafe listening to this song ,trying to hold it together as the tears well up inside. Blessings, jon

  • I never stray from this greatness that we knew as the 1970-s if you dont believe me check out my totally open playlist of what I call the best of the best on this totally open playlist for all you die hard 70-s rockers , . . . russell bradford banks on FB car building artist in Roswell New Mexico

  • Beautiful music and lyrics.

  • 3:35 pure goosebumps

  • This is a great video. I also think this is one of Kansas' best songs. But it doesn't get the mentioning of their more popular hits like "Dust In the Wind" and "Carry On My Wayward Son." Great job!

  • yes, genesis, elp...kansas, to me, defined progressive rock

  • This song helped me "Hold on" at 12 and still does today. Thank you for the teachings. They are all brilliant writers and the sound is always so soothing to me.

Kansas has always been my number one band and always will be. Tour time?

  • Kansas hit #40 in Billboard, 11-8-80 God bless ya, Natalia, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • That guitar solo is SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSICK.

  • haha I love that line: IS USED HERE FOR THE PURPOSES OF EDUCATION ;) so right...

  • @havaiz You see, nothing is meaningless here... :P

  • Great song. Great voice. Great lyrics. Great video.

  • Who´s the origin singer of this song?

  • @Smithfieldis When the song was firstly played, I think the singer of Kansas was Steve Walsh!

  • @famousvim26

    whos the others..

  • @famousvim26 The other members are written on the description... But if you're asking about another singer, from what I know, the only singer of Kansas apart from Steve Walsh was John Elefante... He sang with the band when Steve had a "break".

  • @famousvim26 He still is. He's singing on this tune.

  • @kellyjdrummer1 I know :P

  • HA zero dislikes, thats because Kansas is awesome.

  • I just want to back to 1980.

  • good job brings back a lot of memories when kansas first started out they were living two blocks from my grandmas they were a great band

  • @color280able Me too . . . ;-)

  • The classic is the Classic and it'll lives forever ...

  • I don't recall what I felt when I wasn't alone... someone who stood by my side, a face I had known. Where do I run when it's too much to bear? Who do I turn to in need when nobody's there?

  • Me pase varios años buscando esta rola, gracias por subirla

  • I adore Kansas, thank you for this nice video with LYRICS!

  • Saw Kansas in 1974 in Milwaukee. So incredible to see Live.

  • Kansas this is a band in a class by itself. Hold on...

  • love it....:)

  • oh Kansas! the best american group

  • What this song is REALLY about is when Kerry Livgren and his wife got saved and found God's will.

  • Agapw elena.-

  • Song of the day.The weekends not to far away Tina enjoy all.

  • only 25,000 views? This is one of Kansas's best!

  • @91nickt Well, 25,000 views in my video :-P Don't forget that it's been uploaded by a lot of people! Don't worry :-)

(I totally agree with you btw!)

  • @famousvim26 oh. ok. lol.

  • This is a very christian song, with many christian platitudes, ("on the right track... etc...), but I gotta tell ya, even as a Satanist. I would love me some Steve Walsh.

My wife would just have to understand!

C'mere Steve. give Uncle Randy a kiss...

  • @Paganguy1 That's sick. I hope you're goofin' on us.

  • @wiz9496 Sure. If that helps you sleep better at night. Sure. 'Course, Steve is pretty skanked out nowadays from the booze and the coke, but back in the 70's? Sure. I'd do him.

Hey, I'm a pagan, we go both ways, you know what I'm sayin'? Our gods have no judgement on that stuff. The Satanic Bible says, all sex is good, as long as it's with consenting, human, adults.... (even the Satanic Bible has SOME scruples)..

'Course, Uncle Randy is really an athiest. So, there is that...

  • I love Kansas, how can you pick Lady Gaga or Justin Beiber over this? kansas is Greatness!

  • My favourite Kansas track and in great sound quality too !

  • @pjlindy1 Amen is right...LOL

  • Phenomenal video! Well done you've captured the essence of this song perfectly.

Love the lyrics to this song...very inspiring!

  • @n8tureboy Thank you n8ture boy...! Me too!

  • They have so may excellent arrangments. A lot of people don't realize what level they were at, not only as a band, but also as individual musicians. They only know the few songs heard on commerical radio. You don't see band of this quality, and talent to often anymore.

  • @MrRoxide I couldn't agree more with you! Kansas are a lot better than many other more popular bands. And a lot of their songs are far better than their chart-hits like Carry On Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind (though I love these two, too!). Have you listened to "Closet Chronicles"?

  • @MrRoxide I have to toally agree with you!!! Gee what I would give for bands like this to be out playing today!!

  • such a beautiful song they have a free concert this year at the NY State Fair i learned how to play guitar from their music Kansas is such a talented band hope they never break up hope they keep on playing

  • Man, Walsh is testing the pipes on this one. Great song.

  • @VersinKettorix If you listen to Kansas earlier works(like the first 2 albums),you will get a greater sense of the power that was once Steve Walsh's voice. So sad I can only rely on the 70's albums I grew up with to hear such a beautiful voice(if only he could do even one tune such as Journey from Maribronn today like he did when he was young I'd be ecstatic). To get even a little feel today of a powerful voice I listen to the prog metal band Innosense....

  • beginning off song reminds me off irish/ scottish music. :)

  • @MultiRocknrollfan TRUE! ;-) haha

  • Kansas has been one of my all time favorite bands ever since I got Leftoverture years ago. It pains me to think that most people only know Kansas by "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind." Those are excellent songs, but Kansas has so much more to offer.

  • @ToujoursLAmour Yeah, same here! I love both "Dust in the Wind" and "Wayward Son" but there are looads of other great songs by Kansas, too, which are unfortunately unknown.

  • Makes u think...when u r at ur lowest in life...u Know who to turn to...thx for this amazin' song:)

  • Only hit #40 in Billboard. Thought it'd go higher on the chart than that. Got lots of airplay on WLS AM &FM, Chicago. God bless!

  • thanks for posting this, i find vids /songs come up when i need them most. : )

  • awesome solo guitar|

  • That was touching seeing the updated band members

  • Kansas was alot deeper than we really understood in the 70's.....Thanks for a great Song, and memories

  • Me like!!

  • He is there waiting for all....... Jesus

  • DAMN I miss good music like this.

  • Bellísima melodía.

  • A timeless ballad, a timeless truth! Kansas, American rock legends from the golden age of rock!!

  • my fav of all time

  • Very intense lyrics, makes you ponder.

It is their best song by far. Thanks for the video.

  • You're welcome! I agree with you about the lyrics, though I like some other Kansas songs as much as this one, too.
