@BloodLibel94 ok, i thank you for actually voicing your opinion, im deeply sorry you do not enjoy this band, i thank you for actually having an opinion
@michahm96 Thank you. Most people never say "ok, I respect your opinion. Everyone usually gets illogical and essentially say "Your opinion is not equal to mine therefore you are wrong".

they keep on doing what they want with their music which is good! but many others punk rock band started to calm down like them on later albums.. i can understand that but rise against changed their kind of fans...and lost me...
With rise against it seems that each album has a different theme of tone... They also deal with different subjects than they used to (politics less, animal/personrights more as time has went on)
@Ohaitharimbert I'd agree too with what you say, but not completely for Endgame and ATR, they're a couple of songs that I really like on ATR... Every song on Endgame is great but none of them really marks me.
@EscapeThaFaith dont get me wrong i love ATR and i would say there are songs on that album that stick out to me much more than those of endgame, i just love the lyrics of endgame which it what puts it above ATR slightly :)
I listen to deathcore and rise against and everything except pop because its way too fucking commercial and there is no dept at all in the lyrics. Pop lovers conception of life: Social porblems, politics, economie? Wtf u taltking bout mate, me just wanna drink and take some excstasy in a party with all teh bitches!!!
There are die-hard fans (like me) who have been here with Rise Against for a long time (Years upon years), and there are those who are radio fans (Heard one or two songs on the radio and think they know the band entirely). Well, let me put it this way: I love the sound Rise Against gives off, not only the beat in my hears, but the beat in my mind and heart. Rise Against will always (and I mean ALWAYS) be a part of my life.
people need to stop bitching about how the sound is changing, it's a good thing, it shows that they are willing to take a risk plus it's still good and if APR was release by any other band you know you probably label it as great but because it's RA it doesn't live up to your standards for them.
I don't get why ppl hate on RA's appeal to reason and endgame, it's still awesome music, just because it has it's differences to RPM's really fast pace, all the albums still have great messages in their songs :)
I still like rise against although I used to be a bigger fan. I havent liked anything a whole lot since the sufferer and the witness. I really dislike peta as well and its hard for me to take supporters seriously.
Fucking Endgame isn't bad!!! It's just different ...
And Appeal to Reason is in the same way, not bad, just different.
IMO The Sufferer and the Wittness is the best Album, and then, the rest is RiseAgainst. Listening to all of their songs makes me feel more and more agressive but also abreacting. It's great anyway.
@MrUlanis1 I agree. bands like Rise against and Linkin Park have had a ton of success working with different music stylings and it's really hard to say anything bad because it's rare to find a band that can maintain a dynamic core. static bands just dont have the originality these guys do.
I honestly think pretty much every album Rise Against has made has been awesome. Yeah maybe ATR isnt tht great but its still pretty awesome and I mean savior and hero of war are both great songs, same with frm heads unworthy, kotov syndrome and alotta othrs
Why is ATR getting so much criticism in here? I think it is one of their best albums, together with endgame (of course Suffer&Witness was awesome as well). This may be because I'm much of a fan of Tim's old voice, but every band has to change over time, and I think Rise Against did a pretty awesome job. It keeps people interested, and they still spread a very important message.
alright, you gotta admit, APTR was pretty bad, and i loved it to, but they did have some amazing songs on it, like From Heads Unworthy, Kotov Syndrome, The Strength To Go On, and Entertainment.
am I the only person who loves ALL of rise against albums (yeah the worst album is APTR but I still loved it). am I the only one who isnt punknews or interpunks bitch and thinks that appeal to reasson was good,not great but not aweful. seriously people have to stop being tools and that goes both ways. not because make it stop was an mtv video award nominee makes it bad, but neither those it make it good.
@bereskwolf Being completely honest, Make It Stop was a great song! But, though it may have touched on a serious topic, all their songs do, and most of their songs are based on politics and the flaws, which are far more serious then bullying and gays committing suicide. Don't get me wrong, that is a serious topic, but what happens in politics will have a far more serious consequence in the world.
@Moutonrondouillard Yeah. I mean i was just wondering with my comment. Its probably not right. They K in amerika is used to point out the flaws in america, like all its worst things
theese guys may sound different but they are still true punks that still speak their values and opinions dont they havent sold out over the years they have just changed a bit dont hate on em if you dont like em dont listen to em
(continued) beliefs in favour of sales. I agree that they've taken a more generic sound on, but I think it's more for other reasons. For instance, after playing relentlessly year after year, they make want to make softer music, but nevertheless it is music which is still somewhat true of RA. I just don't believe that RA have sold out, but you're right in that it sounds more generic and Savior IS a great song. If you still think I'm a dumbass, fine, I'm just saying I misjudged your first comment.
I'm Proud to say I am a new Rise Against Fan. I was completely blind until i discovered this music. Lord Thank my GF for showing me the best band in the world.. Thumbs up for all their albums on Vinyl
@oneinthechambermusic who the hell liked this comment? I'm sorry, but how is their new stuff bullshit? They haven't changed in attitude and they haven't sold out. yes, their style has changed somewhat, but they have not turned to bullshit. These are people who actually live their compassion.
@scrumpyJ5 they might make more money these days, but they damn well deserve it. Endgame was better than the last album, so they're changing it up a bit too... i agree about the attitude though, they generally send great messages in their latest music as they did earlier. Actually, i think now more so.... They made a song about homosexuality, never touched on that before.
@TheEric1203 thankyou, they do indeed deserve it considering the relentless touring they do playing 20 songs a night. They have made a song about homosexuality, and it's already one of their all-time classics :)
@scrumpyJ5 yeah Make It Stop, love that song. I think their main reason for becoming bigger is to reach out to wider audiences and get their message across to more people. If they kept making RPM's, they would continue to get props from their underground Chicago buddies, the people who are used to these kinds of messages in music. The mainstream audiences are where you're gonna ruffle feathers and grab people's attention
@TheEric1203 I was thinking just that the other day :) I'm also of the opinion that, since they're playing bigger, longer shows relentlessly, they might've have moved away from their earlier hardcore punk sound. I mean, they probably want to bring their music and message to as many people as possible, but since they've got older, they may want to play music that takes less of a toll on them in order to do that. It doesn't mean they've sold out at all. However, your opinion sounds better.
@leyland247 oh ok. Well that may be so, but... they haven't really emphasized on it up til now. Tim has said, I think in at least a couple interviews that a fan came up to them at an autograph session or something and admitted to being gay, and asked how the band felt about homosexuality. And it kinda seemed to hit Tim in the face and compelled him to write a song expressing his acceptance of all people and how homosexual individuals aren't treated with the fairness they deserve in society
@TheEric1203 He's a gay?? Of course my opinion of him doesn't go down at all, I'm perfectly fine with homosexuals. I just didn't think Tim was gay. So many love songs that seemed for girls; like The Good Left Undone and Blood to Bleed, two of my favorite songs ever. I did not see this coming.
@sbcistheboss nonono, the fan that came up to him was gay lol. I do believe Tim is married with kids so ah yeah you would still be right in thinking that.
Some people say that they have heard all the Rise Against songs and I belive you but....you realy havent heard all of TIM's songs until you've heard all of the Killing Tree's songs. Go look some up.
I was looking up a list of RA songs today, and I saw all these songs by them that I had never heard of. I didn't know about this album, and I am not very happy.
Its allways good to have new fans from Suffer and Appeal to Reason, but you can never forget us whos been with Rise since the beggining us old school Rise fans[:
(Unraveling and Revolutions per minute [ AMAZING! ] )
yeah, the first song I knew was re-education through labour (though I subconsciously knew paper wings, but didnt know it was rise against), and im working my way back to the older stuff... and im building up the song list as well lol, ive got quite a lot of their songs too...
Probably going to order all of the Rise Against albums this weekend, I already have "Appeal To Reason Intl. Ver." so I only need to order the rest. ^_^
@TheOlympiaLowlife oh yeah, they sold out with Saviour, that song only consisted of genuine, heartfelt, relatable lyrics played in a formula they're used to playing. Sold Out, that's exactly how I'd describe Saviour.
@scrumpyJ5 OKAY BLUMPKIN, if you wanna act like a dumbass that's fine. I wasn't talking about the way they wrote their music when I made that comment, it's a great song! But it hit the radio and spread like fucking WILDFIRE, and I think because of that their next album was a lot more generic, i.e. appealing to a wider audience. Which I don't like, because they're writing music just as much for the "fans" as for themselves, which bugs the fuck out of me.
@TheOlympiaLowlife Tell you what, I misjudged you before when I read your comment. I've seen so many comments stating how RA have sold out that I guessed that yours was something similar and it annoyed me. But if you're coming from a view where the band doesn't write for themselves then I'm fine with it, because I believe that's how bands should formulate their music. I just disagree with your statement still, in that I believe that selling out is really giving up their values and (continued)
Rise Against is my favorite band, too, and I'm sure the first time I heard this song, after listening to SSOTCC or SATW, but I'm completely addicted to it now. Take the time to listen to all of their older songs and you will see they were genius way before they got more popular. Appeal to Reason sucks in comparison (but I still love it)
I didn't I said it sucks I said it sucks IN COMPARISON. That means that it isn't up to their usual standards, but as an album alone I love it. It's just I know RA can do so much better. I can't choose an album either because there are amazing songs on every album.
Well ALL of their CDs are great responses to the bullshit thats happening in our world right now. thats kind of what Rise Against is all about. I don't think its underrated; I love it, but it really isn't their best work. Just in my opinion. Its still really awesome and of course I went out and bought it, but for some reason I just didn't get as much out of it as i did not some previous albums.
@AlmostaFlipinSkater everybody hates it? hm, i guess every one of those 775,750 views on that elective amnesia video are haters. You seem to be vastly overestimating the degree to which people will agree with you.
a vast majority of ppl who have been listening to Rise since 2003...im not talking about those mainstream savior rise "fans" who only like them because of fucking savior!
@AlmostaFlipinSkater Oh okay. So you happen to know most of rise against's fans from 2003? Or is it simply the majority of the people you know that were fans of RA since bevore ATR dont like savior. Because if that's what you're judging things on, well that's an insanely small number in porportion to the actual numbers of RA fans since 2003. so there's no real basis for what you're saying. Perhaps, you may want to prove your theory by asking large numbers of fans? Or are you just a troll i fed?
so I'm a troll b/c I've been listening to Rise since 2003, think Revolutions IS THE BEST FUCKING ALBUM in this world and I don't like Appeal...Wow, I just criticized one album by a great band and now I'm getting all this shit. Looks like Rise picked up a bunch of kiss-ass mainstream savior fan-boys with Appeal. The entire punk world was disappointed with Appeal, the same way they were disappointed with Anti-Flag's The Bright Lights... that doesn't mean we're trolls ya conformist
Only good Album..Period .

Top album (to me)
1.The unraveling
2.Revolutions per minutes
3.The sufferer and the witness
4.Siren songs of the counter culture

6.Endgame
I love all of their album, it's hard to rank them, but i prefer the ''trashy sound'' they had before.

However, your opinion sounds better.
scrumpyJ5 7 months ago
@TheEric1203 thats not true they have and the messages have the same idea but they arent anywhere near as deep
leyland247 7 months ago
@leyland247 what? when?
TheEric1203 7 months ago
@TheEric1203 not a whole song or anythingl ike make it stop but there have been references and metaphors to relate to it my bad
leyland247 7 months ago
@leyland247 oh ok. Well that may be so, but... they haven't really emphasized on it up til now. Tim has said, I think in at least a couple interviews that a fan came up to them at an autograph session or something and admitted to being gay, and asked how the band felt about homosexuality. And it kinda seemed to hit Tim in the face and compelled him to write a song expressing his acceptance of all people and how homosexual individuals aren't treated with the fairness they deserve in society
TheEric1203 7 months ago
@TheEric1203 He's a gay?? Of course my opinion of him doesn't go down at all, I'm perfectly fine with homosexuals. I just didn't think Tim was gay. So many love songs that seemed for girls; like The Good Left Undone and Blood to Bleed, two of my favorite songs ever. I did not see this coming.
sbcistheboss 7 months ago
@sbcistheboss nonono, the fan that came up to him was gay lol. I do believe Tim is married with kids so ah yeah you would still be right in thinking that.
TheEric1203 7 months ago
@TheEric1203 Yeah, I was thinking that too, he's got two kids and a wife. Lol, completely missread your comment.
sbcistheboss 7 months ago
@sbcistheboss Haha, its all good

@slot962 WHAT ABOUT GREEN DAY
SavageLE2B 10 months ago
@SavageLE2B GD is pure shit,they're old albums were good thought.
scoot24925 10 months ago
@SavageLE2B Green Day aren't really a Punk Band though. Their old stuff was Punk, but their newer stuff is Alternative Rock.
EmoKidRH 9 months ago
@slot962 YEAH but they sold out with Savior, and the new album DOES NOT compare to all their other stuff.
TheOlympiaLowlife 9 months ago
@TheOlympiaLowlife oh yeah, they sold out with Saviour, that song only consisted of genuine, heartfelt, relatable lyrics played in a formula they're used to playing. Sold Out, that's exactly how I'd describe Saviour.
scrumpyJ5 9 months ago
@scrumpyJ5 OKAY BLUMPKIN, if you wanna act like a dumbass that's fine. I wasn't talking about the way they wrote their music when I made that comment, it's a great song! But it hit the radio and spread like fucking WILDFIRE, and I think because of that their next album was a lot more generic, i.e. appealing to a wider audience. Which I don't like, because they're writing music just as much for the "fans" as for themselves, which bugs the fuck out of me.
TheOlympiaLowlife 9 months ago
@TheOlympiaLowlife Tell you what, I misjudged you before when I read your comment. I've seen so many comments stating how RA have sold out that I guessed that yours was something similar and it annoyed me. But if you're coming from a view where the band doesn't write for themselves then I'm fine with it, because I believe that's how bands should formulate their music. I just disagree with your statement still, in that I believe that selling out is really giving up their values and (continued)
scrumpyJ5 9 months ago
@slot962
there's a lot of new age punk bands that are actually punk. punk is back underground now.
AlmostaFlipinSkater 6 months ago
@slot962 Appeal to Reason and Endgame suck dick though. Hoping they make something like this for their next album.

rise against's my favorite band but this song is a little wierd
ngmatt21 2 years ago
Rise Against is my favorite band, too, and I'm sure the first time I heard this song, after listening to SSOTCC or SATW, but I'm completely addicted to it now. Take the time to listen to all of their older songs and you will see they were genius way before they got more popular. Appeal to Reason sucks in comparison (but I still love it)
SheLoves2Smile 2 years ago 5
don't out down Appeal to Reason like that man. I can't choose a favorite between Rise's albums
charlieDetroit 2 years ago 6
I didn't I said it sucks I said it sucks IN COMPARISON. That means that it isn't up to their usual standards, but as an album alone I love it. It's just I know RA can do so much better. I can't choose an album either because there are amazing songs on every album.
SheLoves2Smile 2 years ago 2
I think Appeal to Reason was a great response to all the bullshit that's happening in our world right now. It's a bit underrated in my opinion.
charlieDetroit 2 years ago 15
Well ALL of their CDs are great responses to the bullshit thats happening in our world right now. thats kind of what Rise Against is all about. I don't think its underrated; I love it, but it really isn't their best work. Just in my opinion. Its still really awesome and of course I went out and bought it, but for some reason I just didn't get as much out of it as i did not some previous albums.
SheLoves2Smile 2 years ago 5
@charlieDetroit
in the mainstream scene it's waaaaaaay OVERrated. fuck that album...and in the punk scene, everybody hates it
AlmostaFlipinSkater 6 months ago
@AlmostaFlipinSkater everybody hates it? hm, i guess every one of those 775,750 views on that elective amnesia video are haters. You seem to be vastly overestimating the degree to which people will agree with you.
paranormal17 5 months ago
@paranormal17
a vast majority of ppl who have been listening to Rise since 2003...im not talking about those mainstream savior rise "fans" who only like them because of fucking savior!
AlmostaFlipinSkater 5 months ago
@AlmostaFlipinSkater Oh okay. So you happen to know most of rise against's fans from 2003? Or is it simply the majority of the people you know that were fans of RA since bevore ATR dont like savior. Because if that's what you're judging things on, well that's an insanely small number in porportion to the actual numbers of RA fans since 2003. so there's no real basis for what you're saying. Perhaps, you may want to prove your theory by asking large numbers of fans? Or are you just a troll i fed?
paranormal17 5 months ago
@paranormal17
so I'm a troll b/c I've been listening to Rise since 2003, think Revolutions IS THE BEST FUCKING ALBUM in this world and I don't like Appeal...Wow, I just criticized one album by a great band and now I'm getting all this shit. Looks like Rise picked up a bunch of kiss-ass mainstream savior fan-boys with Appeal. The entire punk world was disappointed with Appeal, the same way they were disappointed with Anti-Flag's The Bright Lights... that doesn't mean we're trolls ya conformist
