Rant Time...

So many of us love Derpy Hooves. She made me realize how much the show's writers love us bronies, having officially renamed the character in our honor. She made me even more proud to be a brony. I could always count on the sight of Derpy to cheer me up! And then some people went and said Derpy offended people with mental problems. Even worse, Hasbro chose to bow to their will and remove her. I have a history of mental problems and I find Derpy funny and cute!

I didn't want Derpy to change, I liked her just the way she was. And I find it ironic that censorship has hit a show that promotes kindness, love, and most importantly, acceptance. I'm sure that the pressure from the fandom will get her un-censored in due time, but for now, I could use a hug.

She's got an adorable voice. The brony community pretty much left a permanent stamp on the show, it's recognized and embraced by those higher up. How rare is it for something like that to happen.

I cant think of a bigger nod to it's fanbase than this. I thought it was already sweet when they turned Derpy into a "wheres waldo" like character, but this takes it to a whole other level.

Think of her as the official fan community mascotte/representative. And hope for more to come! :)

@Melilithia Ditzy Doo was the original name of her character. Derpy Hooves is the name that the fandom gave to her. An example of when they mentioned her in one of the episodes was in the Winter Wrap Up episode. They mentioned how 'Ditzy Doo' accidentally flew north to get the southern birds. I do agree with you though that Ditzy Doo isn't as awesome sounding as Derpy Hooves :)

I don't care what they did with the voice or the characterisation - this is a friggin' landmark! That's OUR character, that WE created, canonised! If only some people would swallow their pride more and realise how momentous this is!

I wonder if she's possibly aware of her clumsiness. All of a sudden this opens so many possibilities for her character.
