@foreverzeroattack LOVE THIS!! I do not understand why Christians and Muslims fight so much! We should be brethren. We worship the same God, we just disagree on some of the prophetical issues. ^_^ We should look past these things and love each other and search for TRUTH TOGETHER!! Shalom!
@Darkestone46and2 Christians do not fight with muslims, [almost] only muslims fight with Christians, nowadays at least. Yes the same God, but according to our Christian faith, you can not know God if you do not believe in Jesus Christ, which is both God and Human. Jesus Christ is God, not just a prophet.
This is taken from an album called "Fallen Women" by Sarband and the CD can be ordered from their website. I don't seem to be able to post the website address here, but type Sarband into Google and you'll find it. The album/individual songs can be downloaded from Amazon too and you can listen to excerpts of each song on their site, so you can decide if you want the whole album or not. Having said that, the CD is worth the price for this song alone....a truly sublime piece of music!
Does anyone know the Arabic translation?? I can find the translation for Greek portion of the chant but not the Arabic. It is so beautiful, I have to find out what they are saying.
I tried to look up the original Arabic text of the Kyrie Eleison as it is performed in churches, but the text used in this chant differs markedly from it: the first Arabic stanza is the only thing in common.
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy Our Lord Jesus Christ, Listen to us Our Lord Jesus Christ, Respond to us Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy O Saint Mary, O mother of God O Virgin of Virgins, Pray for us Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy O mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, Plead for our salvation O mother of the Divine Grace, Pray for us Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy O gates of Heaven, O God of light O wheat of the Chosen One, Have mercy Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy
SWEET!!! Rock on and thank you!!! I was about to give up hope on figuring this one out. You made my day!
Another question for you. :-) What are the Arabic words? Not like in the Arabic script يا رب، ارحم , but rather like this---Ya Rabb urḥam. Thank you! Thank you again!

J'adhère totalement à l'oecuménisme en musique , à la fois élévateur et révélateur d'une humanité portée par notre petit atome terrestre.

Hello :)
Thanks for paying attention to this piece :)
I tried to look up the original Arabic text of the Kyrie Eleison as it is performed in churches, but the text used in this chant differs markedly from it: the first Arabic stanza is the only thing in common.
So I attempted to translate the sung text myself:
