@bentboybbz More than likely a toroflow engine. They ran in the city I grew up in Niagara Falls New York till 1976. They continued running in Buffalo, for years after. Niagara Falls Municipal Transportation Commission purchased 25 in 1965. They wher originally Blue And White repainted to Black and yellow. Those that remember them comment on this video. I wonder if any of them are still around. Anyone that has made pics of them, videos, should put it on You Tube.
@bentboybbz These particular coaches (shorty's) only came with One engine
and that was the 4-71 (inline of course)....naturally aspirated......the "long version"
of these (38-42 passenger I think, depending on seating) came with the venerable old 6-71...also naturally aspirated...as turbos had not yet come into
being on these engines yet. 6v71's didn't show up in the GM City Transit Series until after the demise of the 3500's..like you see here.
@TurbinePower69 thanx man i like older engines as the "electric" age is comin and STUPID ASS PEOPLE DO NOT REALIZE THAT 85% OF THE WORLDS POLLUTION COMES FROM POWER PLANTS NOT THE CARS WE DRIVE...WHICH IF WE HAVE ELECTRIC CARS EVEN MORE WILL COME FROM THEM...THEY DONT TELL YOU THaT IN THE ELECTRIC CAR COMMERCIALS DO THEY NUBS????
I remember as a kid Schuylkill Valley Lines in Pennsylvania (now SEPTA's Frontier Division) ran buses just like this one, quad headlights and all, but were painted a dark green. They had 6-71's with torque converter transmissions.
Its not really a drag bus so no need to have high torque. It slowly speeds up then sits on the highway and cruises. It will run for weeks without breaking down.
GM built this style up to 1968 and they had the quad headlights as shown on the cover of the manuals in this video. If it is a 1967, it is a model TDH-3501. Not sure why the reference in the info box to the New Look buses though - this was known as an Old Look bus.
which engine does this one have you dont say in the description???

Looks more like a 1957 GMC coach with retro-fitted quad headlights.
I drove these transit buses & were a good machine.
