  • I was taught in lab rounding since 5.2/.04 = 132.5 you would NOT round up the number...it would remain 132. If the result was 133.5 you WOULD round up the number. Normal rounding does not apply to lab calculations. So basically on the half number you would round up if the preceeding number was an ODD number.

  • @starwarsfanforlife Significant figures states that you must round as accurate as your least accurate number. So, in the calculation 5.2 / 0.04, 5.2 is your least accurate number so you need to round to 132.5

    And just on a side note, the state can tell you your answer is wrong if you dont show enough decimal places even if your answer is technically right. Just to play it safe, you should show as accurate an answer as you can.
