thank you so much. i think i want to go to a messianic church because i already know that the sabbath day is on saturday and that christians have no excuse for not changing it
Hello I am a gentile believer. He has been leading me into Messianic Judaism. Praise first to the God we serve and may His name be blessed for all time for He is worthy to be praised. Thank you as well for the information I will be showing some of my friends that have been feeling that call as well
The faith of the Messianic Jews is the Judaism of the Bible (Biblical Judaism) and is centered on the Messiah and the salvation He brings, and they don't have to go through the Sages or the Rabbis to know God. They have access to God because of the great atoning work of Yeshua HaMashiach, Israel's Chief Rabbi, who has fulfilled them as Jewish Believers and fulfilled Judaism itself.
i am an ex muslim. when i was 17 i was seeking God to show me the true religion. To me they all seemed righteous. After praying one day I had an experiance where God spoke to me. He said AS RIGHTEOUS AS THE RELIGIONS OF MEN MAY ALL SEEM TO BE THEY ARE ALL WITHOUT THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB. The Bible says concernig Jesus [Yeshua] BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD THAT TAKETH AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD. I bear witness that there is only One trueGod Jehovah and that Yeshuah is his Son and the Jews are his Chosen.
@cbc51 - To answer this you must not think of those times in 21st Century terms. I am merely sharing with you what the norm of that day was, as recorded in 1st Century writings of Israel. As a Jewish boy of that time period, you began learning your father's trade from 4-years-old. Most 'shepherds' (shepherding alone) of biblical times were as young as 12-years-old. A Jewish boy was expected to be established in a trade by 20. Thus, this is not a far-fetched concept.
@AYZTyler thanks a lot tyler. I was going to say the same thing ! The 1st century way of life is not equivalent to the 21st century way of life. In the 1st century people never went to school, played soccer, watched tv, or even going to work at 8am. They lived on subsistence farming, fishing, woodwork, etc. So it makes sense that the apostles were fishermen at their teenage.
@cbc51 This was one of my favorite parts as a new believer I always thought it was so funny how the apostle's were so eager to leave their fathers. The most perfect answer, and how cool a one.
Hi, can you give me your reference regarding the first split between the Jews and the Messianic Jews? My understanding is that they split because Rabbi Akiva declared Bar Kochbah as Messiah - not because of persecution of the Jewish people. But because the Yeshuim were faithful to Yeshua/Jesus as Messiah. I'd like to read up more on this so thanks for any info that you can provide.
@walksbyf8h - I think you misunderstood what I said. There began to be a distancing of the Gentile believers from the Jewish believers because of persecution. You are correct that the split between those Jews who followed Yeshua as Messiah and those who didn't occured when the followers of Yeshua refused to join with those who were not Yeshua followers in declaring Bar Kokhbah the Messiah.
@AYZTyler Thank you for replying. I'm learning so anything that you can add to my library is much appreciated. I'm reading The Church & The Jews (d.gruber), King of the Jews (d.lancaster), and Israelology (a.fruchtenbaum). Thanks again.
@walksbyf8h - You are most welcome. You are reading some very good books. Here are a few suggestions on some more - "Your People Shall Be My People", by Don Finto; "Restoring the Jewishness of the Gospel", by David Stern; "Our Hands Are Stained With Blood", by Michael Brown; and "Growing To Maturity", by Dan Juster.
Great video...very helpful. :) I've been watching your videos for a while now and I have been wondering, what is the song in the introduction video called? Is it available for purchase anywhere?
@YahwehFills - the name of the song is "Yeshua Is He", performed by the Messianic music group "Nagila". The song is cut 2 on their CD "Valley Of Vision". Express permission from the artist was given to use this song under our opening banner.
@Watchman488 - Most Gentiles who join themselves to Messianic Judaism and Messianic synagogues call themselves simply 'Messianic Believers'. This implies neither Jewishness nor non-Jewishness.
@AYZTyler : Thanks! I see so many labels and titles it gets confusing if there is no Scriptural standard. I see Yeshua, Yahushua, Yahshua, YHWH, YVWH, etc, and all claim their way is the "Holy" way...I'm a new Believer and I have 48 years of "pagan christian" cleansing to go through.
@Watchman488 - Avoid the folks that want to make how you pronounce the Name of God and the Messiah an issue. This whole 'sacred name movement' is a recent invention (10 years old) by ignorant men (no true knowledge of Hebrew or other languages) who pass themselves off as scholars. They definitely have many people fooled.
@Watchman488 - The 'proper pronunciation' issue is merely superstitious garbage. It's gnostic in its foundation (as if they have secret knowledge that others do not) and they actually attribute special powers to proper pronunciation, even telling people that if they do not use a particular name, pronounced a particular way, they are damned. This is foolishness to the nth degree.
@AYZTyler Thank You, I kinda put it in the same category as saying Tomaytoe or Tomato, it's still talking about the same red veggie. Your words helped, Blessings!
@AYZTyler 'The 'proper pronunciation' issue is merely superstitious garbage' - Thank you for your brief explanation, I'm a Christian student who's accustomed to use Jehovah as a transliteration of the divine name rather than one generally considered more accurate as Yahweh, Jahweh or Jahveh. Ultimately I do believe use of the divine name is vital at any rate.
@AYZTyler I agree. I have switched from Protestant Christianity to Messianic Judaism and I found acceptance and I consider myself a Messianic Believer. And I never found great joy to praise the LORD. Amen and Halleluyah!
I am a Christian and so glad the Lord led me to the Messianic Teaching. To be taught the New Covenant (and the old) by a Jew is wonderful! The lights are coming on all over the place for me! Every time I hear a teaching, I'm saying "Oh! THATS what that means or THATS why they did that!" To understand God's word is such a blessing. Thank you.
@coolguy291m - the name of the song is "Yeshua Is He", performed by the Messianic music group "Nagila". The song is cut 2 on their CD "Valley Of Vision". Express permission from the artist was given to use this song under our opening banner.
No, we do not celebrate those observances. However, we do recognize the birth and death events of Yeshua the Messiah at their appropriate times. We celebrate His birth during Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) in the fall and His death during Pesach (Passover).
The fact that Yeshua is repeatedly referred to as "Rabbi", even by the Torah Teachers, suggests that He did finish His schooling and received "s'michah".
There is some evidence that, at least for some period, Yochanan HaMatbil (John the Immerser), His cousin, taught Him.
S'michah is the act of two or more rabbis laying their hands on another to grant them authority to act.
There is no hard proof that Yeshua learned from Yochanan. However, circumstantial evidence and some of the things Yeshua said point to the possibility. It's not something I'd stake my reputation on.
G-d bless you brother...I thank the G-d of Yisrael that He drew to Himself by His grace alone! People have had it all wrong for a looong time! The people of Yisrael did not kill Messiah...
It was our sins that nailed Him to the cross...It was our sins that crucified Him- Jew and Gentile alike, not the people of Yisrael! Shalom
Although I may have an accent to your ears, it is very minimal in comparison to others who live in this area. I suppose what you are hearing is an East Texan accent.
I figured it out after watching many more videos after this one. :) The LORD is working through you and you're an inspiration. It was with absolute delight that I watched more of your videos. Our God is so great!
This excellent video would be much more appealing to Jewish people, like myself, if the name of the Lord were not explicitly mentioned. For the overwhelming majority of Jews, the mention of the four letter name is just unacceptable. But otherwise, great video.
We are very aware of the refusal to use the pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton by the rabbinic community. We are also aware of why. However, this is a man-made tradition. The Scripture does not prohibit the pronunciation of the Name. It merely warns to not use it inappropriately.
In a world where every god is referred to as 'God', we choose to identify whom we serve by His Name. All other names or titles could refer to another god.
You are right when you say scripture does not prevent anyone from mentioning The Name. But, I guess it's not fair to discard it as just a man made rule. After all, US Constitution states we have the right to bear arms, yet some states (Kansas?) completely bans gun possession. In other words, in the practice, we don't follow the written law, but rather what our community leaders make out of it. I guess among Jewish people those leaders were the Rabbis. Sorry for my English. Shalom
Yes, I am aware of the controversy, even within the Messianic community. Again, we do so to specifically identify the True God, whom we serve, the God of Avraham, Yitzchak and Ya'akov.
I find it interesting that no other religion has a problem using the name of their god. They use those names freely and we know whom they serve. But, the only people who worship the One True God cannot identify Him to the rest of the world? I don't get it!
I am baptist, but I have such a great deal of respect of Messianic Jews. I believe God has given you all a wealth of knowledge with the torah and the bible. You all are chosen by God indeed!
im a messianic jew to but my family are lubavitchers or chabad chasids i have to wear tzituts and a kippah all the time but i like that becuase messianic jews still practice Judaism but we put yeshua in it so shalom aleichem
Shalom brother, thank you for this most informative video. Israel is the Apple of God's eye and always will be. I pray for peace in Israel each night. I know it's coming,He that keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. Praise God all mighty! Jesus is
coming again and soon. We will break bread together someday brother. God-Bless and keep you forever in His tender loving care.
Wow, I had never even heard that they were likely that young (not much older than 20), and I am just a half a year aways from having a Relgious Studies Degree (among some others)! Haha a lot of those stories do make more sense now.
All through His life, Jesus always was a Jew, and always followed the laws of Moses. In the Gospels, he celebrated Passover. He celebrated the Sabbath. He was born for us all, Jew and Gentile, so we may have a chance of eternal life in Heaven. Praise be to God! Praise Jesus! Merry Christmas to all! Hosanna in Excelsis!
WOW, this video is a very good explanation of what Messianic Judaism is! The Rabbi here is gifted and clearly annointed for this noble teaching!
To practice faith in Yeshua was an extremely Jewish thing to do. When Peter introduced a gentile into the congregation the Jewish believers became upset with Peter, there was an offical meeting with the leaders of the believers in Yerushalayim about "what to do with the GENTILES FOR JESUS". (This in contradiction to the "JEWS FOR JESUS").
Paul's teachings on gentiles and jewish followers of Jesus as stated in the Bible gave explicit instructions and guidelines on this and I think it is still applicable now in this situation.
I'm aware of fears that this might encourage syncretism but I think personally, seeing how I personally think that Christianity, and Gentiles, have robbed Jesus from His people fellow Jews, where some of Christians even took part in such great tragedies to the Jewish people, I think we can cut them some slack on trying to find a form that they, as a Jew AND a believer in the Messiah, can accept and cherish.
I think you can be Jewish and believe in Jesus. In my opinion, being a Jew is a cultural and ethnic background and accepting Christ does not deny one from celebrating his cultural heritage.
Blessed Be GOD Almight. May GOD Blesse You and We all.
I´m Christian Chatolic in Origin, with Gnostic view. I´m Devote of the Holy Divine Spirit (RUAH) - Connected to Second Coming of JESUS MESSIAH - A Portuguese-Brazilian Tradition give to us by King D. Dinis and his wife St.Isabel, the Franciscans, the Knight Templars(Order of Christ after 1318) and the Great Comunity of Portuguese-Jewish (Sephardites etc.) in 1280-90 A.D. in the Line of Joaquim the Fiore.
Messianic Jews do not live their lives by the Talmud, but by what's written in the Bible. You are not the first to put quotes from the Talmud on our videos. These, and others like them, are abhorrent to Messianic Jews. They, in no way, measure up to the standards as set forth in God's Word.
Alright, I know of a Messianic Congregation that does follow the Talmud among other Rabbinical texts. They're more Conservative in practice rather than Orthodox or what I see in your videos "Fundamentalist". The Rabbi is from Africa who became a Buddhist and then when finding out that his family was an assimilated Jewish one he became a follower of Y'shua and is a Messianic Rabbi.
A person who is truly a follower of Yeshua cannot live their lives according to the instructions of Talmud, as the rabbinic Jews do. Although there may be valuable parts to Talmud, that can be adopted, some of it contradicts the teachings of Yeshua and the Scripture.
This seams to make so much more sence. The catholic and reformed protestant churches clearly disreguard and explain away contradictions. I would like to know more. websites?, telephone numbers?
I know I have been exposed to several points in that Messianic spectrum. Everywhere from extremely loving to frighteningly extremist.
I was wondering if you could possibly cite your sources for me. I guess the one thing in particular that I was wondering where the conclusion was drawn from is that the disciples were young boys.
Anyway, thank you for posting. I hope to hear from you soon.
Most of the sources for what I say in this video are from 20 years of personal experience and from knowing the "fathers" of modern Messianic Judaism. The point about the disciples being boys is taken from historical writings of the time, which describe the process a young man went through (Josephus, Talmud, etc.). By the age of 20, a young man's "destiny" was set. He was to then enter society as a "contributor".
I am So glad that you have Jesus Christ in your heart. Also i would like to say its not about religion it about Jesus Christ our lord and Saviour Its the Blood of Jesus that washes away our sins.
We are very glad that this channel can serve such a purpose. We encourage you all in your search. Just make sure that intimate relationship with YHWH and Yeshua is at the central core of all you do. Otherwise, it is very easy to be led astray after things that do not give life, but only bring death.
Thank you for opening this channel. The congregation I attend is in the midst of discovering our Jewish heritage. I have forwarded the information about this channel to my pastors. We are currently learning the Hebrew language and are studying the Torah on Wednesday evenings. We are also in contact with a Messianic Rabbi in the area who is advising our pastors from time to time. I believe this channel will be a good resource. Thanks again!
This is a cool video, and thank you for posting it.
I think most people, not specifically of any group, when they are young are searching things, particularly identity and spirituality (not to be confused with each other, hopefully). I know I am. God keep you.
He follows Yeshua after that experience, and found Kepha and told him about the Anointed One (Jhn1:40-41). The Matthew account Messiah goes into the wilderness after the immersion (Matt3:16-4:1). After the wilderness experience Messiah is walking on the shore of Galil (Matt4:18). Here Messiah seen the two disciples and calls for them and they follow.
Possibly, Andri and His brother Kepha already knew Yeshua when he was walking on the shore of Galil. In John, Andrew was a disciple of Yohanan the immerser (Jhn1:36-37). Andrew was told by John the immerser that this was the Lamb of Elohim.
As Yah'shua Messiah( Jesus christ) states with absolute clarity in the book Matthew 5,17-19 ; ''Think not that i have come to destroy the law,or the prophets;i am not come to destroy, but to fulfil !
Lets continue in the ways of Yahshua and the early church led by his brother James.Yahshua is the living Torah, lets continue to live by Yahwehs laws ! Amen
thank you so much. i think i want to go to a messianic church because i already know that the sabbath day is on saturday and that christians have no excuse for not changing it

BigDansDaMan 4 years ago
I think you can be Jewish and believe in Jesus. In my opinion, being a Jew is a cultural and ethnic background and accepting Christ does not deny one from celebrating his cultural heritage.
BigDansDaMan 4 years ago
I agree. I was raised Jewish but now I'm going to church and getting involved in church. I believe in Jesus.

Messianic Jews do not live their lives by the Talmud, but by what's written in the Bible. You are not the first to put quotes from the Talmud on our videos. These, and others like them, are abhorrent to Messianic Jews. They, in no way, measure up to the standards as set forth in God's Word.
AYZTyler 4 years ago
Alright, I know of a Messianic Congregation that does follow the Talmud among other Rabbinical texts. They're more Conservative in practice rather than Orthodox or what I see in your videos "Fundamentalist". The Rabbi is from Africa who became a Buddhist and then when finding out that his family was an assimilated Jewish one he became a follower of Y'shua and is a Messianic Rabbi.
MedMan 4 years ago
A person who is truly a follower of Yeshua cannot live their lives according to the instructions of Talmud, as the rabbinic Jews do. Although there may be valuable parts to Talmud, that can be adopted, some of it contradicts the teachings of Yeshua and the Scripture.

This seams to make so much more sence. The catholic and reformed protestant churches clearly disreguard and explain away contradictions. I would like to know more. websites?, telephone numbers?
monoohm 4 years ago
I know I have been exposed to several points in that Messianic spectrum. Everywhere from extremely loving to frighteningly extremist.
I was wondering if you could possibly cite your sources for me. I guess the one thing in particular that I was wondering where the conclusion was drawn from is that the disciples were young boys.
Anyway, thank you for posting. I hope to hear from you soon.
paxrock 4 years ago
Most of the sources for what I say in this video are from 20 years of personal experience and from knowing the "fathers" of modern Messianic Judaism. The point about the disciples being boys is taken from historical writings of the time, which describe the process a young man went through (Josephus, Talmud, etc.). By the age of 20, a young man's "destiny" was set. He was to then enter society as a "contributor".

I am So glad that you have Jesus Christ in your heart. Also i would like to say its not about religion it about Jesus Christ our lord and Saviour Its the Blood of Jesus that washes away our sins.

I think you have given a good definition of what Messianic Judaism is.

Part II
He follows Yeshua after that experience, and found Kepha and told him about the Anointed One (Jhn1:40-41). The Matthew account Messiah goes into the wilderness after the immersion (Matt3:16-4:1). After the wilderness experience Messiah is walking on the shore of Galil (Matt4:18). Here Messiah seen the two disciples and calls for them and they follow.
ariyelbentsiyon 5 years ago
Part I
Possibly, Andri and His brother Kepha already knew Yeshua when he was walking on the shore of Galil.

Amen
