  • @ TheMadjive Its nice to see girls play in general. There are almost none here at my school and other schools Ive been too

  • it's nice to see girls playing this song =)

  • Great band - but what the heck are the audience playing at????!!!!!

Most audiences get out of time after a few seconds clapping - but at least realise it and have the sense to SHUT UP :-o

  • 素晴らしいはじめて拝見しました、アップ有難うございました。

  • is it all girls?

  • crowd can't clap lol

  • I mean Russian letters.

  • Please someone translate the Rosian words into English or Japanese!

  • JUST HAD TO BE JAPANESE GIRLS !!!! JAPANESES ARE AWESOME !!!

  • -mouth agape-

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG! You NEED to be prefessionals. You are seriously the most amazing young band I have ever heard in my life! I'm playing this with the school jazz band and I will show this video to them all! Holy crap and your solos were awesome!! LOVED IT<3 :):):)

  • I´m from Perú, ¡very nice! thank you.

  • amazing!!!!!!

  • На удивление хорошее звучание оркестра. Молодцы девочки. Просто прелесть!!!!

  • or a local cheapest hair room for students, near Takasago high.

  • I suppose they cut their hair each other, because they don't have enough money to go to hair salon. They must save money to do concerts.

  • Why does everyone have the same hair style? Is it a culture thing?

  • Clapping is off-beat because sound travels about 331m/sec.

It's not a fault of audiences.

Every night and day, I'm listening to BFJO.

  • @kobeakashi123 they don't even clap the same bpm. so stfu

  • cool

  • Outrageously fantasttic and--goddamn--WELL DONE!!! Love the sound and the choreography. Impeccably talented!!!

  • great!

  • this is b-e-a-utiful

  • solo part is pretty good

  • Amazing well done guys

  • XD That Was Beast

  • This is Great. Great Glenn Miller ....

  • This is great.

  • super!!!!!

  • lol. almost every video i have seen on youtube that has a band playing this song, there are visuals like this

  • I just noticed one of the trumpet players is wearing blue!

  • very good... Glenn: you will be always played...

  • my districts honor band audition piece is on this song!!!

  • @arrthe3zy lol and my director called it in the nude o.o

  • I like the visuals!!

  • Q TALES JAPONESITAS TOKAN BIEN CHIDO

  • that was really nice!!!! but the audience clapping off beat would have made it soooo hard for me, that's talent right there. and those solo's kicked bum too! i remember i did this in middle school.

  • they're way way closer to the beat than most of the audiences we play for!

  • o.k.-the problem with this is that they all are just playing the notes and doing their choreographed moves. Not ONE of them looks like they are ENJOYING playing this song. I'll sum it up in one word- S T A L E !!!

  • 1:14 looks like the trombone chick is smiling

  • o.k. true- upon further review she looks to be the ONLY person enjoying this performance. My money is on that SHE was the one who got this group to play this song, being that Glenn Miller was a trombone player and she is doing the same.

  • WOW! Big,bold, brassy and beautiful! You've done old Glen proud ! Thank God there are some kids who still play these classics and others who listen to them!

  • nice!

  • I like the soul, like all oldies should have!

  • awesome!

  • This one audience seems to go around to the gigs of all the interesting musicians with vids on you tube just to clap out of time and ruin it for me.

  • ....my band director was like,"yeah i was at a revival and one of the songs emphasized the upbeat so i was clapping on it and every other stupid person ws on the beat"

  • Were playing this in are band :)

  • You are so lucky!

  • wow. i usually never comment about people's grammar but wow...

  • great performance

  • Does anyone know, Is the school itself all female, or just the band??

  • its awesome too see other contries playing american made music cause we play theirs

  • Wooo!!!! Yeeaaaahhhh!!!! ^.^

  • Very good..none of them know any better but it's a litte eery for Japanese to embrace a song of this era.

  • The choreography is amazing! The music was great too, keep it up!

  • The movements go with the music really well.

  • you guys did great with the syncopation..

    great job..

  • awesome! love the choreography. i play trumpet, awesome!

  • Wow, one of the best versions of that song I've ever heard-BRAVO!

  • nice visuals!

  • :D!!!!

  • 高砂はなんでこんなに上手いんだ

  • Bravo to them. :P

  • bravi complimenti

  • I just played this with my jazz band ^_^ I have to say... That choreography is a execelent idea! It really adds to the preformance!

  • thats because Glenn Miller Orchestra actually moved around like that.

  • actually, a lot of japanese bands choreograph their music to stuff like that.

our school's band got to visit a music conservatory in japan and they put on a number that was like a cheer and they had tons of choreography. it's a japanese thing :)

  • んーm!!。 素晴らしい。ガンバレ!!

  • i would have been at this concert if they came to kauai

  • i wish i could fit in with this crowd

  • 振り付けがすごいww

  • the band's choreography, solos, and the song was awesome!

  • they look like they have been specificly cloned to play this

    they sounded great i reckon

  • why would u put 2 trumpet players on a a solo that is 12 measures long lol otherwise great choriography

  • Because we all want to hear the first trumpet player. She special.

  • I'm really impressed. The choreography is a nice touch. I'm surprised they could play that well with the audience clapping completely out of time.

  • @Dekebolnohib yeeah its a really nice and cute choreography ^^

  • @Dekebolnohib They play loud. Good & loud. ^^

  • Joder, con las niñas !!!! que buenas son

    Bravo!!

  • caramba to impressionado...muito bom.....parabensss...demaaaiissss

  • that was pretty dang good!

  • Love the visual, very cool moves. The sound is impressive.

  • when they all get back to the end of part A, i feel that the sound really comes up especially when the brass bells come up. good stuff.

  • nice sound

  • Our band played this song last year. I really love the choreography. and nice solos

  • wow that awsome!!! good job

  • that was amazing

  • gotta love that choreography

  • i love these guys!

  • this is always seen as a jazz band always song, why CANT IT BE FOR CONCERT BAND!!!! then id get a chance to play it, lol

  • My only complaint is that the clapping is a bit off-beat with the song...but there is nothing wrong with that, the enthusiasm shows...

  • lol, everyone here says they played in jazz in middle or high school, im in middle school and were playing this in our symphonic band lol,

  • These kids are pretty good, I like them.

  • excellent job were playing

tht same song in my jazz band

  • Sono veramente fantastici. Sentirvi e' bello e rilassante avanti cosi' bravi!!!

  • OMG THIS IS SO KOOL!

    ima be playing this song

    for jazz band

    but i for my class

    we have guitar and bass

    im the bass

    0.o

    *good job*

  • WOW you girls are REALLY FRIGGIN GOOD! The improvs were great, too :3

  • Wow, that was really good I have to say. I have to say, you guys have a really nice sound. But yeah, you guys or well mostly girls, need to relax and get into the jazz more. But yeah, all I really have to say is, AMAZING!!!!

  • Quite Impressive! You don't hear bands this good at most high schools. They must have an awesom Music Instructor who loves American Big Band Jazz. Keep it up! Swing on!! See me sing with the Reno Jazz Orchestra in Nevada. Jakki Ford female vocalist. You Tube 2008. Loved visiting Japan!!

  • wow im in the hudson middle school jazz band(tenor saxophone) and you guys rock! The motions are great and you play great. btw great alto solos

  • me I am in the Carthage jr. high jazz band ( 1st chair and part tenor saxiphone) and also I havent played that long but we sound awsome I have a hard time with the solo we have but also we have played infront of a school befor its truley a hard peice

  • I play tenor and the solo ain't that hard but with more practice you'll work it out (8th) grade best in NC

  • yah we had just pulled the peice out and it is a harder version of it our teacher wanted us challenged now we play songs like funky cha cha I got a solo and warm fuzzy huge solo and cactus jack written last year for our band its just we were still getting in to every thing

  • they rock at this and what I think is great and no I am not dissing guys its great for once to see an almost all girls jazz band I beleive I dont think I saw any guys but incase but still they rock

  • wow. That's kinda cwl!!! Great dancing!

    :)

  • SUPER COOL!

  • sweet visual effects

  • Very awesome C: Mmmm sax.

All of their hairstyles look the same xD

  • エクセレント!!

  • How in the name of god do you guys sound so great while moving around like that?

  • Its pretty easy to do actually ;-) i played Trombone for 12 years in a jazz Band, went up and down the west coast and into Canada a bit... a little bit of practice and you can add some serious flash to the band :-)

  • Yeh we do it a bit in my school's Big Band, but i must admit we mustn't practice it enough because we never sound quite as good when we choreograph a show.

  • Well... For me it's not that easy =P

  • itz just like the swing girlz movie <333

    luvz it!

  • wow the crowd was off tempo w/ clapping at time. idk if they were trying to throw the band off but the band did good keepin time.

  • I was searching for somebody who noticed it too.

the Band did a great job keeping it on!

  • GREAT!!! all that moving is called showmanship!!

    oh yeah im de mood

  • good!

  • We play this in our band and we're not as good!

  • so good mood

  • THAT'S AWESOME!!!!!

  • just fine.. just fine.. played very well... reminds me of my army band days..

  • awesome! i wish my school's jazz band did all that moving during our perfs... but then we'd all screw up! anyways, awesome! =D

  • I love "In the mood"

    and i love japanese girls!!

  • jadore =)

  • SUPER

  • This has just become my favorite version of "In the Mood"

    What a great performance!

    Domo Arigato for this!

  • Putting this on because it is the most viewed BFJO video.

"Back to Basics" is performed by the "Kuritani" Team. "The way you look tonight" is by the "Morikawa" team.

Would this be the equivalent of Senoir and Junior Bands. Just curious.

Whatever, they are a great band and their contribution to You Tube provides me with great entertainment.

Just hope the U.K. National Youth Jazz Orchestra will contribute something to You Tube in the Future.

  • everything was great excpet for the audience messing up on clapping beats 2 and 4 -.-

  • There was another chart that the audience had awkward clapping....

  • OMG freaking awesome =) u guys rock seriously

  • SUPER COOL!

  • of my... thats must bee so fun

  • This is fantastic! Just the few simple movements make it all look so professional and fun! I play tenor & alto and in one show we did, the 2nd alto didn't turn up so I had to swap instruments half-way through so I could do both solos!

  • Very nice!

  • Woo! i played this in the school jazz band!! I had the 1st trumpet solo at 1:29 :D you guys are great well done!!! xXx

  • yeh, tenor sax ftw

  • WOW! I hope they won the contest! They are good!

  • you guys did good...I play the tenor sax...GO TENORS

  • multitasking FTW

  • Not bad XD

    Swing girls RL action!! XD

  • u guys rock i play the alto sax and im only just learning this song

  • my band's better ;~)

this is really good. my band played this in the 06-07 school year. apparently, the song's popular everywhere. and, not only is it all asians, it's also all girls! (not sexist). my school doesn't have enough females to create it's own band, especially in the trumpet section.

  • Well, the bass trombone is a male.

  • Oh, and check out the other charts BFJO did. Especially "It Don't Mean a Thing." That's one is the best. And or "Caravan" or "Boogie Stop Shuffle."

  • OMIGOSH! I never thought I would see an entire Japanese jazz band! haha ...but really, though, they're really good! I'm in the jazz band at school and we played this for final concert. I love this song!

  • cool! I like the choreography

  • Keep Glenn's eternal flame burning!

  • Just like before you girls ang guy ( you lucky devil ) are superb. Hope I get a chance to see you in person someday. Keep up the great work.

  • Hopefully you will. They are tentatively scheduled at the IAJE Convention in Seattle of 2009.

  • Maybe the sound just doesn't reach everywhere at the same time, huh?

  • yo im surprised, i seriously thought it would suck, but it didnt nice!!!

  • they sound like freaking professionals!!!!

  • this vid rocks i watck it everyday!

  • Haha. I pretty much learned that song by ear :P And the intro "dance".

  • A japanese band playing IN THE MOOD....and playing it beautifully. Wow, the future is a freaky place.

  • Ha Ha Smokeynewton. I hadn't thought of that until you mentioned it, but it does seem slightly ironic. Nevertheless, these kids rock! Nice showmanship as well. Keep up the good work.

  • lol this is like the official song of the USA in WWII. MY grandparents amazed me when they danced to this at their 70th wedding anniversary

  • Nice job. Great sound..

  • U gotta have it. Go BFJO!

  • Very nice but the trumpets are really over powering the saxs and trombones maybe take one or two away and it should even it

  • Absolutely fantastic!! I also love the choreography! Next time I go to Japan, I was to see these ladies in person. What a killer performance!

  • Wow! Great job! Thank you for sharing.

  • i think its a sweeny arrangement....wait yes it is xDD

  • I'm playing this exact arrangement tomorrow night!

  • I just love how they move in unison....

  • Is this the Swing Girls band?

  • cool girls!

  • This sounds like the Michael Sweeney arrangement.

  • that was awesome. nice strong sounds thats pretty cool.

  • gosh this is high school? our 2nd year advance band in middle school plays this song

  • but i bet they're way better in tone, pitch, etc

  • sugoii!
