In the troopers own dashcam video, he spends closer to 10 seconds behind the ambulance. The "drifting left of center" comment is the ambulance avoiding the car in front of them, and the whole time this trooper is creating hazards. All this fuss so the trooper can reach his scene, put his car in park, then reverse, and then speed recklessly after the ambulance AGAIN. Trooper Martin needs to take his licks, get remedial training, and attend some anger management classes.
Especially if the patient was in need. If the paramedic didn't over-react by jumping out and trying to play pissing contest with the cop, the cop would have told the driver to be aware when the cop is behind him and then let him leave. It's the EMT that is interfering with the cop's job. If the EMT didn't jump out and confront him, the driver would have told him they had a patient and it probably would have been resolved. It's so sad people can't get this logic, I feel sorry you're so daft.
Let's make it really simple: A driver, OF ANY VEHICLE, should yield the right of way to a vehicle responding non-routine. The ambulance was not running code, so it should have yielded, not sped up passed another vehicle, and gave the trooper scoff as he passed.
And then when the trooper lawfully stops the EMS, the guy in the back jumps out and trys to throw his stuff into it. The trooper tells the guy to get back in, which if the EMT had someone in the back you think he would.

It doesn't matter who is senior there, the driver is operating the vehicle, and that is who is responsible for the trooper to talk to. And why did the EMT leave his patient to speak to the trooper when the driver should have. It would have been a simple, "pay more attention next time" and over with. Instead the EMT wanted to play boss and well, it ended this way.

Since when is it such a major crime to justify pulling over an ambulance for flipping the bird? The stop was unjustified. If Martin was in such a hurry to "back up the county" then what happened to that? He stopped and left not much back up. Second, the ambulance driver pulled over once he cleared the vehicle on the side of the road. Martin's lawyer is trying to spin it as the ambulance swerved across lanes to block the officer. 1) At 1:07 err ... perhaps the vehicle in front of them pulls over because of the EMT and not because of the LEO.
2) The EMT was NOT able to pull over because there was another car.

Compared to the american cops, german cops a somehow loosers but they can pass any vehicle, even if its a huge oversized truck - and we have much smaller roads here in germany.
4) you can't drive an EMT like a police car or normal cars. the center of gravity is much higher, thus you cannot make so fast movements as you can with a normal car PLUS if you have patient in the back, you have to drive more carfully too than normal.

How did he come up with 24 seconds? From the first frame in the video to the time when the ambulance begins to pass the car was 8 seconds. The ambulance then pulls over right after that. In the troopers own dashcam video, he spends closer to 10 seconds behind the ambulance. The "drifting left of center" comment is the ambulance avoiding the car in front of them, and the whole time this trooper is creating hazards. All this fuss so the trooper can reach his scene, put his car in park, then reverse, and then speed recklessly after the ambulance AGAIN. Trooper Martin needs to take his licks, get remedial training, and attend some anger management classes.

Especially if the patient was in need. If the paramedic didn't over-react by jumping out and trying to play pissing contest with the cop, the cop would have told the driver to be aware when the cop is behind him and then let him leave. It's the EMT that is interfering with the cop's job. If the EMT didn't jump out and confront him, the driver would have told him they had a patient and it probably would have been resolved. It's so sad people can't get this logic, I feel sorry you're so daft.

Let's make it really simple: A driver, OF ANY VEHICLE, should yield the right of way to a vehicle responding non-routine. The ambulance was not running code, so it should have yielded, not sped up passed another vehicle, and gave the trooper scoff as he passed.
And then when the trooper lawfully stops the EMS, the guy in the back jumps out and trys to throw his stuff into it. The trooper tells the guy to get back in, which if the EMT had someone in the back you think he would.

It doesn't matter who is senior there, the driver is operating the vehicle, and that is who is responsible for the trooper to talk to. And why did the EMT leave his patient to speak to the trooper when the driver should have. It would have been a simple, "pay more attention next time" and over with. Instead the EMT wanted to play boss and well, it ended this way.

The video clearl shows that the "emergency" was so minor that Martin was speeding to did not require him to even get out of the car. The EMT had a woman needing medical care. Perhaps a huge misunderstanding between the driver and the trooper but Mr. White was way out of line and should have stayed out of the way. But you don't have to be an expert to simply read a few versus in any Federal, State, or Local code of regulations and see that refusing to obey a lawful request or order from a law enforcement officer or peace officer is in most cases a misdemeanor and is subject to fines not to exceed $1000 or one year imprisonment.
Bottom Line- if a cop tells you to do something, as long as it is a lawful order- ya better freakin do it. Real simple.

Wow. EMT interfered with the trooper. Ambulance was not in an emergency. EMT could have just let the trooper do the job instead caused a big problem which in turn slowed the patients trip. Which was not an emergency anyway. Disobeyed troopers orders was not a good idea.

This trooper is out of control, WHY DID HE NOT FOLLOW THE AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL AND DEAL WITH THE SITUATION ONCE THE PATENT WAS IN MEDICAL CARE.
The patient should sue the trooper for denyng her medical care.

Isn't it ironic that law enforcement is bent over this, but I have often watch them fail to yield to EMS running hot. I also watch them give lectures and bully others for speeding or other traffic violations, but often see them running much faster then posted speed limits as well as other infractions.

Yes, an act of defiance, because SOMEONE had to advocate for the patient in the back! He DID say there was a patient in the back. Also, if you watch the dash cam, you see that the trooper LOOKED in the back and saw the patient in there, and then went back to start trouble with White.

There is no way he saw the patrol unit behind the ambulance. This is an insane reaction as the ambulance held up the trooper for about 5 seconds. You can time it yourselves. As far as the finger. It is protected under free speech and the trooper had no right to pull him over. You can look that up as well.

Since when is it such a major crime to justify pulling over an ambulance for flipping the bird? The stop was unjustified. If Martin was in such a hurry to "back up the county" then what happened to that? He stopped and left not much back up. Second, the ambulance driver pulled over once he cleared the vehicle on the side of the road. Martin's lawyer is trying to spin it as the ambulance swerved across lanes to block the officer. 1) At 1:07 err ... perhaps the vehicle in front of them pulls over because of the EMT and not because of the LEO.
2) The EMT was NOT able to pull over because there was another car.

4) you can't drive an EMT like a police car or normal cars. the center of gravity is much higher, thus you cannot make so fast movements as you can with a normal car PLUS if you have patient in the back, you have to drive more carfully too than normal.

How did he come up with 24 seconds? From the first frame in the video to the time when the ambulance begins to pass the car was 8 seconds. The ambulance then pulls over right after that. I respect the police, but I also respect the people trying to save lives that are in those ambulances as well. As a driver, I try to pull over as soon as I safely can. But lets be real. Sometimes we are aware of the safety vehicle sooner than other times.
