Absolutely one of the best marching bands on the internet today. The band, the Escorts and the Drum Major all very professional with that magical extra buzz of youthful talent. The hard work that you guys have put in really shows and your musical director can be rightly proud of you all... Thanks a lot - Jim Howard, Luton, England
Yes this band is superb! You should also check out Riverside King, Arcadia, Mt Carmel, and Poway from Southern California and from Northern California, you should check out Benicia, Las Plumas Oroville, Fairfield, and Golden Valley just to name a few.
That's California for ya. :D I think we're one of, if not the absolute last state in the US to still hold high school band reviews. It seems everyone has chosen field over the street. :[
I am glad! I was in my high school marching band in the 80's. We played some real marches, but not enough for me! We need to hear more REAL marches from all marching bands!
@ZJH89 that's ok, my school doesn't even have a football team. and our band is just 44 members. but we're a first place winning band. I actually prefer street over field.
They have such a refined sound that is unmatched by any other band I've seen. The tuning, quality of sound, intonation and pulse are right on, just another day at the office for RB.
Wow. Very nice and bold sound. Just a little question about So Cal Bands. I come from the Northern California area and am acustomed our marching band styles. In So Cal, do the ID shields in the guard always stay together as a sort of banner? Cus in Nor Cal the ID shilds usually have some sort of coreography
A very late reply: a number of the ID shield-style banners actually have the shields connected on a bar or a bar hinged in the middle. Some of these have a kind of routine where the banner folds in half and is tilted back and forth or rotated around its axis. In recent years, more SoCal schools (it seems to me) are using individual shields with a routine.
wow! really clean, sound was great too

WOW, a high school band that plays a real march instead of some Latin sounding thing that you couldn't march to if your life depended on it!!

What is it that the band says together when they come to attention?
I've never seen a band, or any other military outfit for that matter, step off with such precision. They moved off as one.
The girls with the sign board are pretty darned good themselves,

The drum major says "Band Aten-Hut" and the band replies with "Hut" Sorry I didn't respond sooner.

Arcadia's band comes to attention with "Pa-CHE!" (shortened version of the mascot "apache")

Ahhh, Rancho Bernardo HS in 2005, debuting "Library of Congress" on the street. Amazing drum major, amazing band, amazing everything.

This is a really good band both in marching and music. It could be a college band and better than many US Army bands. Way to go. Bob M
