counter steer is nt the only wy to contrl drftng, gas is and clutch. When you want to reduce drifting to avoid spnning out let go of the gas if you are almost spinning out, let go of gas then kick clutch. And don't stay inside after a corner go to outside that will save you time because it will greatly reduce your g-force and reduce the need of drift. Check my drifting vids. And choose frontal grip to not understeer, and will keep you inside more.
