If you must sell this, PLEASE make it clear that any name you pick for a star will NOT be an official one as the company does not have that authority! All that will happen is that the name will be entered into the company's database which they may publish at some point. And everything that is published is submitted to the British library.

Outside of this, the name will receive NO recognition whatsoever and no astronomer will ever refer to the star by the name you've chosen.

I'm sorry that you ignored the website, but we make it very clear at the point of sale that your name will in not necessarily be recognized by the name you chose. @jillianedw Have you looked at their website? I don't believe it's clear at all. All they say is that someone with a PHD in Astrophysics "won't be required to use the name you pick". If people recognize this is just a novelty thing - okay, but I have come across others who get very emotional because they've shelled out money thinking it's an official permanent memorial to their deceased parent/child/friend. It's then quite upsetting for them to realize that it's not.

But there are people who spend up to 500 dollars on this gimmick, believing that they are officially naming a star after a deceased child or family member. It's then very upsetting for them to realize that it's not. This is not clear in this video or on the website - unless you very carefully read the small print.
