  • I think we've represented well both positions but I think we are going full circle. Maybe in some time we will come back to this and hopefully share a conclusion.

But until then, get ready for some more videos.

  • Even if it was proved that the detainees in Guantanamo were all terrorists, that cannot justify the conditions and torture that those people are subjected too. It also cannot justify how they came to be in that place without any legal representation, out of sight and mind of the courts. That isn't just my opinion, that's constitutional.

If you believe in equality, I really can't see how you can disagree with the above.

  • What torture? These are all leftist lies, propaganda and paranoia. They are ALL positively identified terrorists, they have NEVER been tortured, their countries of origin DON'T WANT THEM BACK, and they're stuck at Gitmo, until their military tribunals take place. Stop speading the LIES about Bush, Gitmo, America and the GWOT. You are only doing a favor for the enemy.

  • So does Amnesty International ever condemn terrorism, or just the fight against terrorism?

  • Amnesty International support the human rights of all people equally, that is the fight against terrorism.

Of course we condemn terrorism in all its manifestations, watch the video again.

  • What leftist rot. Why don't we just close Gitmo and let all these mass murdering fascists free? The insanity that is Amnesty Int'l and the global left is suicidal. Only the deaths of many innocent people can come from this infantile, naive stupidity.

  • Well that's exactly what is happening in Guantanamo and the countless other torture camps like it.

The reason Amnesty International is campaigning for the closure of Guantanamo is because they are innocent people, uncharged and unconvicted against any crimes who are suffering from human rights abuse such as torture alongside many more.

Human rights aren't dependent upon nationality, race or religion.

  • Torture camps? Innocent people? Bullshit. They are positively identified members of Al Qaeda. Who've gained an average of 20 pounds each in this 'torture camp'. Although it's interesting to point out that the doctors who treat these animals at Guantanamo now have to wear body armor because they've been shanked/stabbed by these savages. Amnesty International, and the left, sympathizes with terrorists like the Al Qaeda prisoners at Guantanamo. Because they're both fervently anti-American.

  • Well the American branch of Amnesty International must have very low self esteem then if that's the case.

Amnesty are about supporting human rights, if you are feeling some prejudice, perhaps your just confusing that with a conflict of interest.

    Peace Baby ;)

  • Yes. Sympathizing with, defending, and supporting terrorists is a conflict of interest to those that like freedom, as well as breathing. Rational beings know this.

  • I agree. However I think I need to make a point clear. The detainees in Guantanamo are not terrorists, they are unconvicted of any crimes.

Whatever suspicions there might well be around these people, there are protocols and procedures in place to try them fairly and equally like you would expect for yourself, me and everyone else. The rules cannot be changed for convienience, that is what human rights are all about.
