In '76 it was sufficient to wear a bum freezer jacket, jeans, tennis shoes and have short hair, to be called a punk (there's a photo of Matlock wearing just this). This was before all that bondage gear was popular. Pistols did a lot of 60's covers including Small Faces and the Who. The idea was to get back to the 3 minute song and that 'speedy' energy.
