I watch the ending of one of these rodeo's on tv. They were having an interview with the manager and he said, that when they aren't being used they are being treated like kings. Do you see any of these horses with scars or that are under weight? A couple of minutes bucking and then paradise.

im not sure if everyone knows what causes a horse to buck like this, but the main reason is because of the girth. It's not tight but the horse i just not used to it. My trainer had a horse that if the girth was on a certain spot on his stomach, it would buck crow hop and EVERYTHING BRONCOS do! I wouldn't consider this animal abuse.

There are certain lines of breeding known for their predisposition for being 'broncs'. I had one. good looking, great on the ground, clipped, trimmed, brushed, saddled, bridled, but try to step on and that horse just broke in two. no good reason- saddle fit, slow kind approach. After a couple years of this, he was never ridden successfully. I gave him back to his previous owners. wasn't mean, just a bronc. Didn't need a strap either. He'd buck for at least 3 minutes after an attempt to get on.

FACT: The flank strap is only snug for the 8 second ride and until the pick up man can get to the horse to release it. A horse that is flanked too tightly, like a horse who is girthed too tightly, will not buck.

Horse tripping ain't abuse I been working on quarter horse ranch and horse tripping is the easiest safest way for you and the horse to get caught or try not burning your hands at a 30 mph outa control stud obviousley you never dealt with wild studs or done any real cowboying

This is not cruel, i am around it every weekend. That strap is not "tight around their kidneys" It loose so they think they can bucck it off, but tight enuf so it wont fall off, and thats what causes the bucking, and for the teriifiedd, if you see the horses in the pen before they go, they are playing like regular horses, alot of them just stand in thu chutes, until its time to go, do their job, then walk outa the pen. It is really not that cruel.

@Barebckbarrelracer44 you're right...the cinch is wrapped tight enough so it won't fall off but loose enough so the bull thinks he can buck it off. If the cinch was too tight it would cut the circulation and effect the bull's performance..most likely not buck at all. The bull rope and cinch are designed to quick release as soon as the bullrider lets off or the bull runs back in the chute or to the bullpin

im not sure if everyone knows what causes a horse to buck like this, but the main reason is because of the girth. It's not tight but the horse i just not used to it. My trainer had a horse that if the girth was on a certain spot on his stomach, it would buck crow hop and EVERYTHING BRONCOS do! I wouldn't consider this animal abuse.

There are certain lines of breeding known for their predisposition for being 'broncs'. I had one. good looking, great on the ground, clipped, trimmed, brushed, saddled, bridled, but try to step on and that horse just broke in two. no good reason- saddle fit, slow kind approach. After a couple years of this, he was never ridden successfully. I gave him back to his previous owners. wasn't mean, just a bronc. Didn't need a strap either. He'd buck for at least 3 minutes after an attempt to get on.

FACT: The flank strap is only snug for the 8 second ride and until the pick up man can get to the horse to release it. A horse that is flanked too tightly, like a horse who is girthed too tightly, will not buck.

This is not mean at all. So are you guys saying that every single horse that bucks is in pain? My horse would be considered dangerous, as he bucks just as hard as a rodeo bronc. People that complain about this stuff obviously don't know a whole lot. I've seen that these horses are treated like royal animals, and this is a sport that they are trianed to do. It's like when I compete in rodeos with my horse. I use round spurs because he's a stuck little bastard and won't move without them, and you can tell by his actions that he genuinly loves the sports. This is not cruel, i am around it every weekend. That strap is not "tight around their kidneys" It loose so they think they can bucck it off, but tight enuf so it wont fall off, and thats what causes the bucking, and for the teriifiedd, if you see the horses in the pen before they go, they are playing like regular horses, alot of them just stand in thu chutes, until its time to go, do their job, then walk outa the pen. It is really not that cruel.

@Barebckbarrelracer44 you're right...the cinch is wrapped tight enough so it won't fall off but loose enough so the bull thinks he can buck it off. If the cinch was too tight it would cut the circulation and effect the bull's performance..most likely not buck at all. The bull rope and cinch are designed to quick release as soon as the bullrider lets off or the bull runs back in the chute or to the bullpin
