  • How can anyone dislike such a wonderful and meaningful song? D: It's 2012 and I'm still listening to this song. Thumbs up if you still listening to this song in 2012, too. :)

  • This song is for my aunt RIP

  • This song came out right around the time I had to have an emergency liver transplant and was given 4 days to live if a donor wasn't found. Luckily for me, an almost perfect match came in mere hours before they'dve shut off life support. Now I try to live every day like it's my last and never take anything for granted.

  • I first heard this song when I was around 11, I am currently 18 and still loving this song! Honestly, I'm not to much of a country fan but this song...

  • @JisatsuSamaW00t replace 18 with 17 and its the same exact story. Not to be a jerk or anything but I HATE country... for the most part. But this song is just to great. I want to do all these things, and summer of 2013 before I go to basic training I am going to.

  • I know a 25 year old young man who's truly living his life like he's dying, because he is. His biggest wish on his bucket list was to go see a Garth Brooks concert. He went Jan. 7, 2012. Not only did he get to see Garth sing, but Garth moved the family to better seats & then gave them backstage passes. For all you young people listening to Tim's song: living at home, going to school & following rules is part of life. Get used to it! Live life by helping others who are worse off than yourself!

  • nanceb84 - I think your family would be happy that you went out doing things that you loved, that you lived life to the fullest right up until the end

  • I like this song but the white background with the white shirt is odd. I guess it was intended to be a ghost like effect. The photos make this video good. :-)

  • Having had this conversation with my doctor, i can truly say that it is not always easy, not when you have other people that you love so deeply, to think about , i do not want to spend my last days on this planet being selfish. But this song make me think.................

  • Replay button is getting good use... <3

  • im 10 and my mom and dad went to his concert they said it was amazing. i will always love this song. share this song with ur friends it needs more views and likes

  • I'm listening this while in the hospital, I'm going to be fine, but it can be life threatening and I am pretty scared

  • Have a realy & i mean a realy good friend that can sing this song :-)))))) *He gives me gusspumps) :-)))

  • OMG SOME ONE GET A NAPKIN theres a tiny red smuge on the dislike bar

  • Matthew Cohen. I can only hope to be as amazing a person as you were during your short short time on earth. This song certainly does your life justice. Please watch over everyone you love and bring light in their darkest hours. One day we'll all meet again in that next place. Take care my friend.

  • @Matackable i fell quite sorry for matthews death keep living like you were dying

  • Is this music ???

  • Really makes you think about life. Love it. " i became a friend and friend would like to have" Damn truth.

  • I WENT SKY DIVING I WENT ROCKY MOUNTAIN CLIMBING! :P

  • Reading some of the stories of lost loved ones makes me love this song even more. <3

  • Last year in Oct. I lost my soul mate to Liver Cancer and while we were going through the 12 weeks from diagnosis to his death, this was our song. Life really became about making memories that were going to last beyond the moment. Now that he is gone, I still have those memories, but I still feel like a shell of who I use to be and I'm trying to learn to go on but it is so hard!!! Thank you and God Bless!!!

  • @shirleyafriend He is waiting for you and wants you to stay here for longer because he knows first hand the type of person you are and that people need your help. Love and Blessings.

  • I think that people accidentally hit the dislike button when they went to click the like button

  • i couldn't think of the name

  • i always cry when i listen this song

  • This song gets me everytime, My step-dad got stomach cancer a few years ago for around 6 monthes my mother was at the hospital with him and it was a 2 hour drive toget there. I was 10 at the time, it was hard being at house with just my sister. I'm 13 now and I still miss him but I'm glad he got healthy enough to do stuff with us and see his origionl family before he passed away.

God bless him and anyone else who has felt or is feeling the pain of a dead friend, family member, or pet.

    Amen

  • Our family just lost a fighter and dear member of the family a couple hours ago to cancer after a grueling 3 month bout (testicular, colon and lung). Dale tried to make the most of his last days by enjoying his family he loved immensely, took a trip to Maui among many other things we all take for granted every day before he passed. This one's for you buddy... see you soon enough... your mark was left on me... love always... RIP... God bless...

  • How can there even be a dislike bar on a video like this?

  • @jtschid0910 it's OK, you can hardly see it's there

  • 8 years. It's taken me about 8 years to finally find this song. I was in love with song when I first heard it but I never knew the name until now. and I still love it.

  • I hated this song when I was 7 or so when it came out. I'm 16 now and this songs just tears at me. I realize, most of my prime is gone. I'll be graduating in a year and a couple months. I'm about to cry man.

  • @coldfood10 You're only 16 dude, your prime isn't almost up, it's just beginning

  • Don't live in fear. Fight the good fight, finish the race keep the faith!

  • words to live by.

  • @ACDC392333 GOD BLESS U I FEEL SORRY FOR U

  • I'm not the one to usually listen to country. Heck, I'm a total metal head. This song though.. It touches the heart. Great song!

  • This is a great message my sis is in fifth grade and we live like we are dying she likes someone in her math class and she was always nervous to do anything cuz her crush is always near her but then i showed her this song and she isnt nervous anymore she lives like she were dying aol day everyday with me

  • this has to be one of the best songs mankind has ever produced

  • It's hard to live everyday like you were dying when you have work etc. But I think the most important message from this song is to love deeper, talk sweeter and give forgiveness. We can't go sky diving everyday but we cal all do things like love and forgive to make our time here worth it. I love this song!!

  • everyone is saying to live like they were dying... i want to do the same because life is really short from my family experiences and bad things can happen to you... i am 16 and hate living at home and going to school because one little thing can mean failure, one little mess up can mean destroying my future, there is no room to live, only survive... i can't wait till I'm out of school and out of home so i can live like I'm dying every single day::

like if your in the same position

  • Starting 2012 I'm living like I'm dying...

  • I don't care how many people hate "country" or how "stupid and whiny" it is. I don't care how old this song gets, because I will always, ALWAYS, love it. <3

  • I have trouble listening to this song because of my uncle. He died at 43 and couldn't of been a better country farmer. This song reminds me so much of him and I miss him so much. He was the best uncle any niece or nephew could ask for.

  • i love this song:)

  • every day i live like im dying. ehlers danlos syndrome took my dad when he was 51, and could take me early as 20 or i could live til im 70.

  • @joe1969812 Without looking back through the comments (I'm using this tune for a project right now and need to get working on it) I think this little spat is kind of missing the point of the song, no?

On that note, this song is brilliant and deserves about twenty times the views it already has :)

  • ein Wort: unbeschreiblich!

    one word: indescribable!

  • I am always so touched by this song. It's so inspiring. And it's such a shame that it takes something awful to happen to make you appreciate the sweet life we have been given. But, we are human and I take life for granted, too, sometimes. That's why I have to listen to this song to remind myself how precious life is. It was meant to be lived and enjoyed. Tomorrow is never promised, so live your best life today. God Bless.

  • The part where he sings, "I went three times that year I lost my dad..." is simple yet poignant. To know that his own dad, Tug McGraw died of a brain tumor, you get a glimpse into the all the lost time he must have tried to make up after his father's diagnosis. I'm not sure if he wrote the lyrics or not, but the emotion with which he sings these lines chokes me up and makes me think of my own father and how there's never enough time to spend with those we love.

  • Spell Check.....use it, and the only reason you're catching hell is you are begging for people to thumb's up your '' pathetic'' comment...

  • Thumbs up if you <3 this song and Tim McGraw

  • man, lifes short, live it while you can, because when its gone, its gone, my mom told me that, then she died on my birthday in 2001, but those few words was the best birthday gift ever. If you dont go for it you will never have it, if you live in fear you will never have it. So stop living your life in fear and chase your wildest dreams like they were right in front of you the entire time!

I came up with that. Live by it, trust me.

  • still listening in 2011 <3

  • @jkk959 No you're listening in 800 B.C

  • and now 2012 ? :) haha

  • . my firends mom died at a 4 wheeler acccedent and on the way to that ranch, the last song my frined and her mom sang together was this. they really lived like they were dying. please like for respect and prayers for my frineds mom and her

  • @ItzChristian123 it's a sad story.. but that is a pretty pathetic way to get people to like your status....

  • @ProJectGamingStudio I agree.

  • @justinhardt1 it may be but at least i can show some repect for my frined

  • @ItzChristian123 I don't have a problem with respecting your friend... but really? was the "please like for respect.." even necessary? You can still ask for respect and prayers without getting public acknowledgement.

  • @ProJectGamingStudio i guess your right

  • @ItzChristian123 whoa. A youtuber that didn't verbal abuse me. Congratz, sir. You're part of a rare and elite breed.

  • It may be but at least i can show some repect for my friend

  • @ItzChristian123 Yeah right, please either learn to spell or use Spell Check, and nobody know's what the fuck you're even talking bout. She died on the way to WHAT ranch? 22 people liked this? Why?

  • @joe1969812 Look i dont know how some comment on this to maybe at least show some respect for my Friend casued this dispute about this . Whats pathetice is yall trying to find every little detail of what i spelled wrong on cmment about my FRIENDS mom dying. maybe you should go spend time commenting on something elese that really is pathetic unlike mine

  • @joe1969812 You are an idiot. Show some respect, that must've been hard for him.

  • @ItzChristian123 this is bad and you should feel bad.

  • @ItzChristian123 God bless you. And his family. Im sorry

  • @ItzChristian123 My prayers go out to friend and her mom. I also was in a 4 wheeler crash. I was lucky enough to just BARLY survive. I have brain damage, 2 fucked up lungs, short term memory lost, and I was in a coma for 2 months. The day before they were goin to pull the plug the poked my feet with a needle and I responded to it and then came out of my coma. Again, My prayers to her and her mom.

  • I am in no way a country fan, but I have to admit this is a really good song.

It's one I can sing to every time I hear it.

Maybe it's the topic, maybe it's how he sings it, or what ever.

It's a good song, and sung very beautifully.

    Great job!

  • Tim McGraw made me LOVE country music.

He is the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be

  • they played this at muh great uncles funeral it was hish favorite song from the moment her heard it lol its so ironic v_v i miss uncle bobby :') but hes happy every time i here it i cry.

  • I don't like country, but this is one of the few songs that will shine on in country music.

  • my dad passd away and this song reminds me of all the things we did i am tin years and it sucks to live therest of my life without him

  • 71 people dont live like their dying

  • An old friend of mine passed away at the age of 52. He had been born with a faulty heart and lived his life knowing that any day could very realistically be his last. I truly believe that this reality for him, more than anything, shaped the type of person he was and all his accomplishments. He just always had a different attitude than the rest of us and will be sadly missed.

  • My aunt is die of pancreatic cancer, and she is so negative. I wish could live like this, celebrate it, and not morn it.

  • 71 people won't live like they're dieing..

  • i love this sont im geting "like you were dying" tattooed on my wrist <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  • ya know, my ex husband is in his early 40's and just diagnosed with a unoperable brain tumor. Never been a big country fan but this song is just says it all.

  • My favorite all time country song!!

  • @QueenQuiQui1015 Thank you for your comment. FYI, I still live through my sister'sadvice, and I am a happy person for it.

  • When my older sister was dying, her advice to me was: "Live like there's no tomorrow; you'll never know when it's going to end." I was career-driven who aspired to retire as a millionaire. She was only in her forties. A year later, quit my job, withdrew my 401-k funds, went skydiving and hiked the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Cascades mountains. This song will always remind me of my sister and her legacy to me. Thank you, Tim, for this song. It was as if it was written for me.

  • @rainbowdream4u Don't even know who you are and i admire you!..and sorry for your loss..after working for the same company for 28 years i was thinking of the same thing you did..there is a fine line between exsisting and living ..most exsist..

  • @canktm11 @canktm11 Yes, I am much happier with my life now as a starving artist (lol. not really, but I am now following my childhood dreams as a writer and artist. Since I quit my corporate job and went skydiving and mountain climbing, I never looked back. The only sad thing about it all is the end of my marriage, too, but it was not meant to last. I don't regret anything. Today I still live through my sister's advice. You might want to try it, if you're not doing it yet. Be happy.

  • R.I.P. Alan Keith Bernhagen 08/08/09

  • This is a great song about living life to the fullest. It reminds us to love those close to us with everything w/in.and not hold back...I wrote more on this type of subject here jleal-focuspointtopics.blogspot.com.

  • Fuckin hate when this song comes on, on the Radio. But its sooooo Good!

  • i love this song:)

  • This music video makes me feel very awkward...

  • holy smokes how did tim mcgraw get an invisibility cloak????????????

  • When I hear this song I think of two things:

1.My aunt who fought ovarion cancer for 8 years to show her children how strong of a person she was

2Of all the people in this world that know that death is calling them and aren't afraid. They know they are going to die so they take time to do the last things they want to do before they die. They look death head on and say I know you're coming but I'm not afraid because my life was worth living.

Thank you for this wonderful song Tim McGraw

  • If one were to truly listen to this song one would figure out that every person is dying some are just dying sooner than most, so my advice to every single person is to take that leap of faith and to go sky diving, or rocky mountain climbing, or just do something that is the most terrifying thing in your mind and never regret the decision because i promise you it will be the best decision of your life.

  • listen to the words, hits you way down & starts you thinking.

  • life is short...live it to the most amazing extent possible! i was told about 6 months ago i had 2 "leisions" on my right lung. i have been to scared to go back, guess i should but it is human nature, if you don't know it it doesn't exist, hope it doesn't kill me for my childrens sake, i just hope everyone else out there is braver than me...take care of yourselves folks!

  • @twoboyshohe I AM A 7 YEAR LUNG CANCER SURVIVOR PLEASE HAVE IT CHECKED OUT SO YOU,LL BE ABLE TO FIGHT IT AND STILL BE AROUND FOR YOUR FAMILYS SAKE AS WELL AS YOUR OWN. CANCER DOESNT ALWAYS MEAN A DEATH SENTENCE. BUT YES IT IS REAL SCARRY, I KNOW THE FEELING WELL. GOOD LUCK AND GOOD WISHES TO YOU.

  • @twoboyshohe PLEASE GO BACK FOR YOUR CHILDRENS SAKE IF NOTHING ELSE!!!CANT YOU IMAGINE HOW THEY'LL FEEL IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO YOU AND YOU NEVER TRIED TO HELP YOURSELF....AND LEAVE THEM WITHOUT A DADDY?THEY CAN DO WONDERFUL THINGS TO CURE THESE DAYS.GO ASAP.AND VERY BEST WISHES TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

  • i love this song its amazing

  • i think that 70 people r f**kin retards u cannot like this song its way 2 amazing nuff said :)

  • Yesterday evening I become an aunt to a beautiful baby girl 7 pounds 13 ounces <3 whenever I feel angry, sad or jus feel like going out doin something stupid! or drink. I look at her baby photo and smile :) I love you Allie Louise <3 11/1/11 can't wait to meet you.

  • I think this may be Tim's best song, at least most meaningful. It's so beautiful and true. We all choose how we live, whether it be in fear, pain, stress, anger, sadness. Each moment is here and then gone forever. All the worry is for nothing. We allow it to rob us of our precious days, nights and happiness. I vow to live live each day to the fullest, and I will make it a point to listen to this song each day as a daily reminder. When things get too much to take, try doing this.

  • love this song

  • this song made me cry it is sooooo good

  • dammit now i have to find @EricBBrandon1 post

  • Great job Tim! Once of your best from this decade. I wish my Mom had the chance to do a bucket list and the things Tim sings of. She passed away less than 7 weeks after diagnosis of ovarian cancer stage IV. :'( Rest in peace Mom.

  • i love this song i was diagnosed with a brain tumor that almost killed me two years ago and i got a tattoo to represent what i went throught and i put the title of the song on the top with the date of my surgery at the bottom

  • @backroader100 I hope you remain in the best of health. Wear that tattoo proudly and stay healthy. My best wishes are with you now and always. Get out there and do anything you can that makes you happy now that you're I assume recovered. Good health to you and yours.

  • @backroader100 i hope you live life to the fullest youve gotten a second life live it well :)

  • This is so very similar to my experience. I was looking at the MRI's, the muscle biopsies, the surgeries, the tests -- and several doctors told me that I was dying. They didn't give me a specific disease, and I didn't accept that. I told them that I would die WITH this, but not FROM it. Since that time, this has been my "Theme Song". My doctor - who CORRECTLY diagnosed me and saved my life - even has it written in my chart that my inspiration was to live like you were dying.

  • Great Song !

  • Tim Mcgraw wrote this song for his dad that was diagnosed with brain cancer. My grandpa died two weeks ago of that same cancer and this was his mindset the whole time. Thanks Tim

  • Wow, I love how nice people are on here, chewing out one another with no respect that they are parents.... "Freedom of Speech".. Howabout freedom to not act like a JERK? Man up buddy.

  • i love this song

  • i lost my uncle he had brain cancer he was fighting for 3 years it realy hurt me

  • I just wanna dedicate this song to my friend Cameron who lost her mom two years ago of Cancer. God bless her, she misses her mom soo much and its horrible because people at school make fun of her for it! Seiously people? She lost her mom! The one person who she could actully talk to and call "mommy" So i'll just say this "Be grateful for what you have, Dont fill it with greed."

  • @lily1655 how does anyone have the stomach to make fun of someone because they lost their mother?...somebody that does that is just spoiled and wasnt raised properly...

  • @Luigi9913 Its horrible how they treat her. your right, how would they get pride out of hurting someone who lost there mother?

  • <3 i love this song it remindes me about my aunt that i lost to cancer in 2010

    Rest in paridice

  • This song gives me goosebumps every time... Songs like this really make me respect what I have so much more. I thank God for all the time I have ahead of me and I hope that everyone can live like this, and love every second of it

  • @washingtonredskinfan he shut up i dont care what u say eminem is better then tim mcgraw want to know why he sells more albums

  • @codynator2000 Seriously Dude You Need To Stop I Don;t Care If I Don't KNow You But If All You Want To Do Is Talk Crap Maybe You Should Go Talk It To Someone Who Wants To Listen. Like Honestly You Need To Go Somewhere Cause If You Don't Like Tim McGraw So Much Why Are You On This Video Continuing On With Your Insulting Comments To People You Don't Even Know. Enough Said

  • LOL since when is 240p "HQ"??
