  • will you be showing making the neck/frets? I have made a test one and that was the bit I struggled with probabaly because I have limited tools. I downloaded your CD but can't get it to play properly although at least I have the plans

  • Yes I will show you how to make the neck and fretting with several easy methods. Hint:If you at least get yourself a cheap bench drill you will have great success) episode 5 will be about the "stick" itself, If you email privately I can help you with the CD-rom running, but the plans are all you need for now, Do you have the Mold made?

  • Oh right that's good, thanks. Well I made 2 prototypes - cigar box style for fun as I have never done any woodwork before so am not sure whether I will go the whole hog or not yet. Have downloaded your vids and will watch them later and see if I fancy tackling it

  • Its great to start out with a body already made!! The course I am filming shows the skills you need to make guitars, ukuleles, etc but on a smaller home sized scale, If you make the mould, then the body will fit to it. I do have an easier/simpler way to make them but it requires more skill, that will have to wait for now, I am still tring to do one episode/cjapter a week....BTW I love cigar box ukuleles, I may make a 6 string guitar one myself one day as well.

  • your videos are very useful guides. I am not intending to be a purist about it but just a short term hobby to learn something new. Still wondering whether to do the big one fretless as the small one I made has some real potential for great ethnic sounds and obviously is a darned sight easier to make!

  • A very interesting video Michael. Very cleare.

  • Forstner bits can cut nice clean holes and it makes the rosette and soundhole a far easier process. as a side note-I used an oversize forstner bit just a few days ago on a very simple tenor ukulele I am making for myself, Video will follow in a few weeks..god willing...

  • beautiful work as usual
