R&B is the bedrock of Rock music. In the early 60s R&B was about all you would hear because most US white groups hadn't a clue about music. Then in 1963 there was a change: English bands who had relied on R&B to give them the style they needed desparately to succeed. I don't remember the white groups like Pat Boone stealing the songs & music of black artists. That really sucked. Pat Boone ended up as a pathetic excuse for an artist-singer.
