Well, in RE 1 there were a few male characters worth noting.

Mainly it was Chris, Wesker and Barry (the man in red with the beard). There was Richard, Enrico and a few non-playables as well, but they haven't re-appeared in any other games.

In RE2, the only man was Leon and NPCs.

I would say it's "loosely" based on the games.

I do know many people who like the films; however, those same people have never played the games.

My problem is that I find that filmmakers tried to do something different with the series and picked and chose things they thought were cool. Characters and monsters. Especially in Afterlife. They didn't explain a lot of it (like the Plaga; which, as shown in the games, does not turn people into zombies).

Basically, Chris, Jill, Leon, Claire and Wesker are the series' main characters.

Aside from remakes, Chris has appeared in 1, CV, DSC, 5. Jill in 1, 3, DSC, and 5. Leon has been in 2, 4, DSC and the two animated movies (Damnation isn't out yet but we know he's in it). Claire's been in 2, CV and one animated movie. And Wesker's been behind the scenes in pretty well every game. We just don't see him in 2 or 3 but UC proves he was there.

I i love the movies... i think they are great. i know they are nothing like the games.

Yes, that's true. Chris, Jill, Claire and Wesker all appear in the films. I've only seen Afterlife beginning to end and that was only BECAUSE of Wesker and a $13.75 ticket. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered to see it at all, nor stay until the end.

To each their own, but I hated Afterlife and I've tried several times to watch the others, but they bored me. They're more actiony than horror.

Exactly; I have no problem is developers or filmmakers make their own story.

The problem comes when they try and do both - make an original story but tie it in with pre-existing characters.

The films are in a totally different genre than the games. The plot is entirely different; the only similarity is Umbrella, Raccoon City and zombies. And the characters feel like half-assed fan service.

I personally didn't mind Degeneration.

A lot of people disliked it for the reason of Leon x Angela. But otherwise, they remained true to the games because it was Capcom who made it and cast all of the game actors in their returning roles.

The live action movies were not made by the Capcom gaming studio. Capcom sold the film rights to Hollywood and that's when things start to go downhill.

@TidusTehSacrificer No you can kill him but its hard to dodge him because his range of attack is very wide, and he dishes out quite a bit of damage. Normally you would need to heal TWICE in order to beat him since when your in caution he can insta-kill you. But that's only if your a dodging guru.

@theperfectweapon91 he's actually pretty easy I beat him many times with just a pistol since he's left handed I only had trouble with the Y shaped alleyway I had to dodge a lot but enchaned handgun ammo helps stagger him and when he got his tentacles he was throwing the shit out of Jill I was I'm danger twice :0

@leegeorgeson Well (with all due respect) the puzzles and lack of ammo are what people consider things that make this game (and other early RE games) truly survival/horror. In fact, many people blame the emphasis on killing and action for making newer games (from RE 4 and beyond) bland and unoriginal. But people like what people like, I suppose.

re2 and 3 actually occured the same night and day, just different paths were taken s jill leon and clair never crossed paths, and brad was in re2 as a zombie, infront of the rpd building,so that means that jill had made it to there before leon and clair .
