Masako Mori so great voice and this Enka very touching.Masako one of my favourite singer...but this song and how Masako sing it is MARVELOUS....More bonus there is lyricks in Finnish too ????
@61amuri Hello, sir. Thanks a lot for your comment. Glad to see here Enka fan from Finland. Welcome to my channel. :) You're right, Masako-san is amazing with this song. So sensitive and strong rendition. Truly great voice, indeed! I'll try to make more Masako videos in the future. ~Teisuka
@Digatone Thank you for your comment, Patrick. I have seen 'Pearl Harbor', too. 'Yamato' was actually a Japanese response to that film. Sad movies both. 'Letters from Iwo Jima' directed by Clint Eastwood is also excellent, sad film on the same subject. I like it much more than 'Pearl Harbor'.
Toivotan sinulle mukavaa talvista viikkoa. Voi hyvin! :)
Thank you for your kind comment. I am glad that not everyone talk only about the war. Yes, this is sorrowful story of the young love, 'puppy love'. Exactly. People love each other also during the war, even if it's not a good time for their love affairs. Still, love wins everything in this world. Love, and nothing else. We must always believe in love. I like this old hippie slogan: 'Make love, not war!' ^_^
I did not know about this song, i did not know about the movie, but sadly I know about the War, and the great battleship......all the wars, do we must kill because of different believes? money? and power. At the end, we have stories, we call part of history, nothing more than hero and sad stories, like this one. But i still thank you for sharing.
@bernardf372 Thank you for your comment. I agree with you, wars are stupid and vain. Unfortunatelly the history of mankind is often the war history, actually... But some people love each other also during the war. This video tells about love in the shadow of war. This is not a political video but only music video and sad love story (because I like them).
Please listen to the original song "涙の連絡線 (Namida no Renrakusen)" sung by 都はるみ (Miyako Harumi). Both Miyako Harumi and Mori Masako are famous Japanese Enka singers. This movie is not directly related to this original song. Teiska has effectively created the clip.
Teisuka-san, thanks very much for sharing this video. The song and the video is very touching. It also reminds me of the movie Pearl Harbour and The Nanking Massacre. War is always sad and nobody wants to go to war; but yet why history often repeats itself. When will they ever learn?.. When will they ever learn.....
@meilanfa Thank you for your comment, Meilan. I agree with you. War is always sad thing. I have also seen those films which you mentioned, if another one is 南京! 南京!, a new film made in China 2009? I think it is the most shocking war film I have ever seen. Unfortunatelly it based totally on reality. >_< I don't understand how humans can be so cruel to each other... 'Did they ever learn', it is good question to mankind and especially to our leaders. Let's pray for peace.
This video and song combination is so powerful in its message, Teiska-san! War, in any form, is NOT acceptable. 'For our country, we fight' Ah, it is so easy for the people up there to make decisions and say 'Go! Leave now and show us how much you love your country!' But what about the peole they leave behind? They go through the same exact HELL while waiting for their loved one to come home, knowing very well that there is a huge possibility that they might never make it back safely..
And then there is the OTHER kind of war that people wage agaisnt each other in our everyday life :| I do not believe in yelling and screaming, and prefer to walk away and build a wall of silence instead just as I do not believe in WAR!!
Bravo, Teiska-san.. this video & song is magnificent! sasuga Teiska-san dane~
Such an intelligent and sensitive man you are! I love Mori-san and this song touches me so. Kando shimashita wa!
TY for making this video, Teiska-san -^^- Long live PEACE!
@AliceNine2008 Konbanwa, Michiko-chan. Thank you very much for your good and wise words. Domo arigato. I completely agree with you. I am glad to see that you are pacifist, too, and very warm-hearted woman. About war, this is a big question: why to fight (or why to wait) if there are no anyone left to live together with you after war...? War breaks all dreams and causes a curse to people. 'There never was a good war or a bad peace', said Benjamin Franklin. Oyasuminasai, Michiko-chan. Ittekimasu!
I hate every kind of War.This sad love song and the film are telling us what the hateful war is. Billions of innocent peaple were killed and had miserable lives historically.
Special thanks to you Teisuka for sharing the SONG and the meaningful FILM.
@maki11able1 You're welcome, and thank you for your comment, Maki. I hate war as well. Peace is every time the better choice and it is always possible. War causes a great suffering for civilians in many generations...
@maki11able1 That you was moved to tears when you watched this video, it tells that 'your heart is in right place' and your values are healthy, Maki. When I'm making these videos, my most important 'mission' is to arouse emotions in people (love, joy, sorrow). There is always some message on my music video, and mostly it's love in some way...
@KS6066 Konbanwa, Katsunori-san. Thank you for your good comment. Domo arigato. Yes, Yamato was a beautiful ship: the largest, heaviest and the most powerfully armed battleship ever constructed. General, I am historically and aesthetically interested in old great ships like Yamato, Potemkin and Titanic. About twenty years ago I visited on a Russian battleship, Aurora, in Saint Petersburg. I wish you a great weekend, my friend. 気をつけて!
Ooh !! The girl bade a farewell to her boy-friend of a navy of the Yamoto Battleship. It must be a grieved ending for sure ! In fact, you selected this clip is more bitter than the (Ferryboat of tears) ! GOOD pick, Teisuka ! But this Enka is beautiful with a love story of grievances in tears. Although it is sorrowful but enjoyable after listening !! Thank you !!
@WinstonHF You're welcome, and thank you for your comment, mister Winston. I agree with you: Enka is sorrowful and video is more bitter than 'good'. Just the way I wanted to do this combination... War is the greatest tragedy of country, and the pain of love is the greatest tragedy of individual... That's my 'message'. Although my video is painful, I wish you a happy weekend, my friend.
(3)I don't mean to justify war. Pope John Paul II said, "War is crime. War is sin."I follow his words. However, there are not small number of people today who are intoxicated with fake pacifism. They criticize anything regarding war. In Japan, so many people born in peaceful time don't know reality. I would like them to learn that Japan became prosperous at the cost of the precious lives of the respectable soldiers who UNWILLlNGLY fought during the war. (To be continued)
@AliceNine2008 Thank you, MIchiko-san. I didn't expect I would find you here. As you said, the combination of the image and Masako's song is very good. I'd like to give Nobel Video Prize to Teiska-san.
(2)In that movie, a young soldier said something like "Were we born to die? What's the meaning of our lives?" Everybody became speechless. And after a little while, his boss answered, "This is a kind of inevitability of history. A brilliant future will visit Japan after this war. But we won't be able to see it because we must be victims in the long process to our goal. If we run away from this mission, national prosperity will never come." (To be continued)
(1)Teiska, this is a very moving video. I totally agree with you. Beautiful and emotional rendition of Mori Masako is incredible if we think of her age when she sang this song. The image from "Otoko Tachi no Yamato" makes me cry. Those who died with the sinking battleship were mostly around 20 year old boys. I'm sure none of them wanted to die. (To be continued)
@asnar0365 Ohayo, Goemon-san. Thank you for your long and profound comment. Well, I am a pacifist but not fanatical. I can understand your point very well. I think that war is never necessary. 'War is crime and sin', I agree with pope, but evil can sometimes cause something good too, even if the intention is not justify the means. I mean that people can learn from history and sow a good seeds to 'blood-fields'. I appreciate a peaceful politics of Japan very much. Have a good weekend, my friend.
I agree with you again. The point of watching war movies is to learn from history. I'm a normal pacifist like you. Stupid people often think all soldiers are bad guys. In any times, the proportion of bad people is the same. We must realize that most of soldiers were forced to fight. That 's one of the most miserable things during the war and that 's why we must avoid war by any means. When someone kills his enemy in the war, both of them becomes unhappy.
@HKshipsForTeresaTeng Thank you for the good comment. 'Teresa Teng enkas' are also my Japanese favorite songs, even though I love Kaji Meiko and Mori Masako, too, very much. ^_^ By the way, I think that my next music video will be one Teresa's Chinese song.
Nice song, I like Enka too. Although this film was a little confused with patriotism and militarism: was it the defending of their homeland, or the tragedy end of the aggression waged by themselves? or both sides make some sense?
But the confusing of political correctness is also a kind of Japanese style. Let's enjoy the music video, leave the disputable topics behind. After all, the scenes are very touching. Thanks for the nice MV, teiska!
@ZiyaoM Thank you for your good and restrained comment, my Chinese brother. ^_^ I hope that everyone could be as dispassionate and fair in their views about this painful subject (WWII). Have a good weekend, Tzuyao.
