@Digatone Thank you for your comment, Patrick. I have seen 'Pearl Harbor', too. 'Yamato' was actually a Japanese response to that film. Sad movies both. 'Letters from Iwo Jima' directed by Clint Eastwood is also excellent, sad film on the same subject. I like it much more than 'Pearl Harbor'.

Thank you for your kind comment. I am glad that not everyone talk only about the war. Yes, this is sorrowful story of the young love, 'puppy love'. Exactly. People love each other also during the war, even if it's not a good time for their love affairs. Still, love wins everything in this world. Love, and nothing else. We must always believe in love. I did not know about this song, i did not know about the movie, but sadly I know about the War, and the great battleship......all the wars, do we must kill because of different believes? money? and power. At the end, we have stories, we call part of history, nothing more than hero and sad stories, like this one. But i still thank you for sharing.

But some people love each other also during the war. This video tells about love in the shadow of war. This is not a political video but only music video and sad love story (because I like them).

I think it is the most shocking war film I have ever seen. Unfortunatelly it based totally on reality. >_< I don't understand how humans can be so cruel to each other... 'Did they ever learn', it is good question to mankind and especially to our leaders. Let's pray for peace.

'For our country, we fight' Ah, it is so easy for the people up there to make decisions and say 'Go! Leave now and show us how much you love your country!' But what about the peole they leave behind? (1)Teiska, this is a very moving video. I totally agree with you. Beautiful and emotional rendition of Mori Masako is incredible if we think of her age when she sang this song. The image from "Otoko Tachi no Yamato" makes me cry. Those who died with the sinking battleship were mostly around 20 year old boys. I'm sure none of them wanted to die. (To be continued)

I agree with you again. The point of watching war movies is to learn from history. I'm a normal pacifist like you. Stupid people often think all soldiers are bad guys. In any times, the proportion of bad people is the same. We must realize that most of soldiers were forced to fight. That 's one of the most miserable things during the war and that 's why we must avoid war by any means. When someone kills his enemy in the war, both of them becomes unhappy.

Nice song, I like Enka too. Although this film was a little confused with patriotism and militarism: was it the defending of their homeland, or the tragedy end of the aggression waged by themselves? or both sides make some sense?
