no b/c you went up a gear lowering the RPMs & the accelerating speed of the car b/c its at a low speed in a higher gear. Going up a gear gives you a touch bit more of control but going down a gear near the peak of the lower gears RPMs will drop speed faster than you can break & allow for a sharper turn if you mis judge the turn at all.

Yeh if your in a too low of a gear the torque / acceleration would increase causing the rear wheels to spin.

Try putting the car in 1st gear for the very sharp turns, it makes a difference. If you keep the car in 2nd gear for very sharp turns, the car will drift up the track. I hope this tip helps ya ;).

NFS:Shift is a arcade game not a simulator. I've played it and it is not bad but not near as accurate as forza 2 was. And on top of that Forza 3 is even more realistic than forza 2 was. So take your shift comments elsewhere cause shift is for people that like arcade games not realism. This game is for people that are TRUE car enthusiast's just like Gran Turismo. And the only competitor for consoles for forza is gran turismo. So you can't even compair shift and Forza.

That's completely understandable, Need For Speed Shift's cockpit view is far superior to that of Forza Motorsport 3's. I've hardly played either of them so I can't really make a completely accurate judgement.

NFS has barely any cuztomization...forza 3 has more cars, parts, unlimited paint ideas, more game modes and track... id say NFS:S is a piece of crap. all you really get is detailed interior

I don't blame them, especially when they made the game in such a short amount of time (compared to GT). The demo is most likely showcasing what the final game will be like. So graphics will be the same as the demo. And definitely 1080p, that's the highest resolution the Xbox can support (Forza 3 is upscaled 1080p though).

if you have your box connected to your tv with a HDMI cable then you'll be getting 1080p res. but if you have the standard component then its only 720p max. with the plastic look/ gray areas in the cockpit screenshots problem i think they might show up on some cheap cars in the game as im sure those cars didnt get the same attention as the major BIG GUNS ! i hope im wrong about that,this is first time they included cockpit view in forza so i think they'll have to leave something for FORZA 4 ! :)

yeah the demo version does suck balls, as far as i know in the full game you will be able to look around inside the cockpit and make adjustments as to how far back of how high you sit inside. if you have the 360 Elite console you'll be able to play 1080. pro and arcade consoles only support 720p component. :)

That's false. All the different consoles have nearly identical hardware/features (excluding which will most likely have the jasper model). The Arcade has a 1.2 hdmi port, which is capable of 1080p. Elite is too, while even the pro has it too. I know this because I have an arcade at 1080p. And it's possible for 1080p via component. It's just rare for a TV to support that input.

You get 1080p it says it on microsofts website. Anyway mate if i give you a game with 720p and 1080p and i tell you the 720 is 1080 and the 1080 is the 720 you will think the one i called 1080 (thats really 720) looks better, just might add also your tv does not do 1080p you need a resolution of 1200p to run 1080 pixial for pixial (soz spelling) so sorry mate. Your tv just has a built in upscaler, If you want real 1080 get a 30" mac led Monitor. Or an old crt. the monitor will accept hdmi.

fergus i dont have clue what you are talking about. 720p is not the same as 1080.

720p means 720 horizontal lines and 1080p means 1080 horizontal lines. These two resolutions are not the same. The only reason 720 looks better is because people have a small LCD or plasma tvs. 720p looks the best under 42" tvs and 1080 is better for tvs over 42".

Under 42" tvs, setting 1080p destroys the resolution because the tv isnt big enough to display all 1080 lines.

Mate i know that but im saying that 1080p tv's dont run 1080 pixel for pixel because it actually takes 1200 pixels running down the screen to run the resolution of 1080p pixel for pixel. Want me 2 explain a bit more or do you understand? doesnt matter how big it is. I have an old 22" monitor that runs 1080p and it would run it better than any large tv. Having played Shift and Forza3, i have to say Shift feels more like driving an actual card with the incar mode than this does, and Forza3 is still not a true sim, its a dumbed down sim thats arcade at heart.

On easy, my missus won her first race, and she has never played a racing game apart from Mario Kart.

The physics will be, but I'm very disappointed for the incar view in forza. It looks like initial D , NO nose diving under braking, No roll when the car is cornering. Generally can't "feel" the G force.
