Did that person just seriously let a pitbull hang around with a cat like that and expected no retaliation from the dog? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all pitbulls are vicious but statistics does show it is the breed with the highest number of attacks. That's gotta show something else you'd see Shihtzus being #1 on that list...

lol, my cat holds my pit hostage to wash his face. we have 4 dogs and 4 cats, as well as 2 guinea pigs, and everyone actually gets along for the most part. pits can be some of the sweetest dogs if properly trained and socalized.

my cat was outside rolling in leaves when nieghbor came out with his dog. the dog saw my cat and ran to it as fast as it could, my cat just sat there. then, a split second later she was on the dogs head kicking and clawing. she jumped off about two feet away. the dog bolted for his backyard yelping. me and my friend ust sat there laughing
aw they're just playing. The pitbull is quite too relaxed and passive and letting the cat do that to him - if t s/he had a big issue with it it could rip that cat to shreds. The cat also knows this and still goes back to taunt him - they're just playing. Cute really.

That is one of the most adorable things I've ever seen. I've seen chihuahuas who would shred the cat for looking at them funny, and yet I've never met a pit bull I didn't absolutely love. Even a stray I came across in my sister's neighborhood was so sweet, he came and lay his head on my lap and asked for scratches even though the poor baby was skin and bone. He looks much better now, since they leave food out for him-the neighborhood children play with him a lot and he has never bitten anyone.

A wonderful example of the true nature of this breed. Between my pit mix and my lab mix, I can guarantee that the lab mix is by far the more aggressive dog.
It never is a specific breed that should be banned, it is ignorant owners that need education before being allowed the more powerful breeds.

We have 3 rednose pits in our house, and 7 cats plus a new litter of 5 kittens.
All of our pits love the cats and the kittens!
They love to clean them, rub on them, play with them, everything!
They are very protective of their family whether it be us humans, or the animals in our house. I hate the stereotype people give pits

Bloody media bullshit dont give a shit about reporting the hundreds of dog attacks every week in the media, they just want to report on the very few attacks that involve Pit bulls and then they make the dogs out to be all evil and violent.

I dont have a pit, I dont even have a dog anymore, but if I did, it would be a pit.
I have done all teh proper homework, I know, or I feel that I know enough to correctly bring one up. Im not some dumb twat who will get one "Cuz Dey iz ARD!" no, I will get one because they are a loyal life long companion that can be trusted. I also believe that people need to be tested before they can own any dog. Most owners dont deserve a goldfish.

@FatRakoon i know what you mean like i said before people don't need to fear my dogs they r very sweet, loyal and loving but people underestimate me too often due to my small stature. I'M the one people should fear not my dogs. but then i'm not one of those owners who need a dog to appear tough or as a status symbol. mostly people who have been around me fear my mind more than anything else lol i have a way of getting what i want accomplished

Most people don't realize this, but cats have locking jaws and a bite psi of 3000. the reason you don't hear about people dying from cat attacks often, usually there's not enough left of the victim to realize they were even there.

@candihu My Staffordshire Terrier adopted a whole family of skunks! They ate with him, and when the mother kicked the kits out of the nest, they all took up with Brutus and followed him everywhere he went!

@metzger22001100 i had a 137 lb rott who had a kitten as a chew toy. never hurt the kitten and adored the kitten. the kitten would lay in the dogs food bowl and the dog would eat the food around the kitten and never hurt it. another so called vicious breed. lol they r great pits and rotts alike they r womderful to have

my pit was the best guard dog/ friend i ever had he was super nice to ppl i let in but when somone broke in he tore him to shreads i stop him before he killed him but he was so nice he died last year from heart problems T_T i miss him

@Bukyru your pit was doing what a loving loyal dog will do, protect its owner with it's life. i am so sorry to hear that you lost him. my male pit protected me when a stray tried to attack and bite me my male pit diverted the dogs attention and the dog thought it was gonna attack my pit. my pit had him on the ground by the throat before i could blink but when i yelled "break" he let go and the stray ran unhurt but scared

A wonderful example of the true nature of this breed. Between my pit mix and my lab mix, I can guarantee that the lab mix is by far the more aggressive dog.
It never is a specific breed that should be banned, it is ignorant owners that need education before being allowed the more powerful breeds.

@KitaMariatesh you aren't kidding. these powerful breeds are very misunderstood and i have owned a HUGE female rott and now am the proud owner of 2 great pits. they have wonderful temperments and i am a responsible owner who doesn't need a dog to be considered tough (i'm 115 lbs and stand 5'4") NOTHING will make me look tough lol. but these misunderstood dogs are the best

Pitbulls are simply proven to have more lethal instincts than other dogs. I am a dog lover myself, as long as they don't have high propensity of injuring me.
Why pitbulls aren't banned as pets yet all over the world, I don't know.

@musicnice10 actually no they aren't. pits have the lowest instinct of atticking humans it goes against everything they stand for. yet there are irresponsible owners who will train them to be aggressive and that's when it turns ugly. i have 2 pit bulls and i know for a fact that if someone tried to break into my house or hurt me that my dogs would try to hurt them. but then i can also call my dogs off of a fight rapidly too. my male got attacked by a stray that tried to attack me.
