During the Battle of Britain FDR also supplied the U.K. with guns, ammunition, aircraft and AMERICAN volunter pilots, soldiers and sailors.

eflecha, some of your facts are skewed - yes USA had plans as well as Japan to expand access to resources in countries they had no right to. The Sino-Japanese war posed a problem as virtually all nations had signed the anti-war Kellogg-Briand pact which bound all signatories from acts of aggression against other nations. Japan violated the pact within two years of signing in their vicious attacks on China. The USA also signed but was not prohibited from defending themselves.

If the bombs haden't been dropped the estimates from the insvasion was to be 1 to 1,5million U.S soldiers dead and aprox 12million Town's Guards from the Empire of Japan.

Other People are already studying Algebra in the 6th Grade, and can quote (and correctly use) the QUADRATIC EQUATION.
By 9th Grade, they already know and can use CALCULUS, PHYSICS, and CHEMISTRY.

It was an act or war by a Nation. Do not blame Japanese people, They were as ashamed as we Americans were angered. My mother is Japanese and was a teenager during World War 2. And so I have had the privage to hear the stories from both sides. Both of my grandfathers served and survived WW2. One even hit Omaha beach and survived two years before getting sent home. And now I hear my mother in law's stories about the people of Japan. Not the Army but the people's side.

We should not forget the day- December 7 1941 when Japanese aircrafts attacted Pearl Harbor without any declaration,destroying or severely damaging 19 naval vessels subordinated in USS and some 200 aircrafts in US Air Force
And the day - Septemper 18th 1931, when the Japanese Imperial Army also attacked BeidaYing, near Shenyang without any warning and then occupied almost territory of NorthEast of China.

To say that The United States only entered the war for glory and credit is completly ignorant. The United Kingdom did nothing at the onset of Hitler's Blitzkreig across Europe untill it was at their front door. The U.S. did not enter until it was in it's backyard. I have no qualms with the Japanese, Germans or British. I am merly saying please, get your facts straight before you speak.

FDR wanted to enter the war, but the rest of the U.S. viewed it as a European problem. It wasn't unltil December 7th, 1941 that the public opinion was changed and it was now seen as a global problem. December 8th, the U.S. declared war on Japan and in turn, Nazi Germany declared war on the U.S. Now it was a world war.

You only have about 30% of the Story... though what you say here is partly correct.
Here is "THE REST OF THE STORY"... about FDR asking the Navy ONI to come up with a plan to goad Japan into attacking Pearl Harbor, getting one from Lt. Cmdr. Arthur McCollum of ONI (Office of Naval Intelligence) on October 7, 1940, and upon reading it, ordered it put into action the very next day.

Further more, the United States' opinion of the war in Europe was extremly unpopular with the U.S. public. Franklin Delenore Roosevelt, the president, however supplied European armed forces, the biggest supllier being The United Kingdom, with raw materials. (i.e. metal, rubber, oil, ect.) During the Battle of Britain FDR also supplied the U.K. with guns, ammunition, aircraft and AMERICAN volunter pilots, soldiers and sailors.

I love how teens think they know politics. The Japanese were not trying to expand their empire in American territory. The attack on Pearl Harbor and the rest of O'ahu was in response to the United States boycott of Japan because of the invasion of China. The Japanese had been trading with the U.S. for raw materials. Materials that were vital to the Japanese economy and military.
