  • Love how the opening is Donkey Kong.......and then some how it becomes Donkey Kong 2 back to Donkey Kong

  • ...and I will be in line for "Legend of Emelda: Nap Time Princess" and "Mostly Cloudy Sword" once I finish "Empanada of Time."

  • I used to watch my brothers play that old system when I was little.

  • today's question

    What is your favorite game?

  • 3:50 - "I'm melting! What a world!"

  • lol funniest part at 8:17.

  • ITS AN ACUTUAL SCREEN SHOT OF DK YAY PRETENDOH pretendo was also refrenced in code monkeys btw

  • Anyone else catch The Princess Bride reference?

  • Pretendo sounds like a bootleg Nintendo out of Russia

  • @odog65

Heh, that'd be the "Dendy" then

  • lol. Pretendo-Nintendo! I luv this show!!!!!!

  • Of all these games or other shows they've parodied that have been made into a video game, why haven't the Muppets or the Muppet Babies come out in video game form?

  • Why cant they put this on DVD AHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Adventures of a Link Sausage, Super Bario Brothers, Son of Super Bario Brothers, Second Cousin of Super Bario Brothers, ROFL!!!!!! LMFO!!!!! I didn't get this joke when I was 5 but I sure get it now!!

  • haha adventures of a link sausage. This is the one episode I remember from way back when. Good times, good times. :D

  • man i miss this show!!it brings back such great memories thanx for postin this video!!

  • King Koopa Kapana.XD

If that dragon is suppose to be a parody of bowser, than they got it all wrong, all though the game gonzo is playing is clearly a parody of DK

  • This is a prime example as to why this series will never make it to DVD. Imagine all the licensing fees they have to pay to EVERY COPYRIGHTED reference.

  • @gr8latino I was talking to Hank Saroyan, he said it was all personal politics. Everything was cleared.

  • @MrLogoman007 - Could you repeat that? You talked to someone who worked on the show about this particular episode???

  • man that controller looks like an atari controller, it's wiird they can show references but they can't utter them, strange.

  • ''What's the big fat idea Gonzo?!?!?!'' LOL!!!

  • Donkey kong, Donkey kong jr. and fantasy zone. 3 ganes in one show.

  • also:Skate Or Die,Tetris, and Legend of Zelda

  • Piggy said,"wanna bitch?" at 00:55!

  • @dmcconnell97 I meant 1:55. My Mistake. Sorry!

  • I have this eppie on a NickJr. VHS, I'll even upload it, too.

  • I use to watch these when I was little, but I've never seen this one before!

  • LOL @ the game titles... Adventures of a Link Sausage... Son of Super Mario Bros... Second Cousin of Super Mario Bros!

Classic... they just don't make shows like this anymore! Loved Muppet Babies, Real Ghostbusters and The Mario Bros Super Show when I was a kid!

  • Uh oh! Fozzie's stuck in "Skate or Die!"

  • This is back when video games were actually FUN.

  • Uh dude they still ARE.

You just gotta look through the shovelware.

  • Should've got 100 points for feeding animal too....

  • It's funny how the video game console looks like an old ass vcr....

  • I love Fozzie's reaction at 5:29

  • This was my favorite episode when I was little. I love it haha.

  • The whole premise of this show was that the Muppet Babies had very fertile imaginations. They would immerse themselves into whatever was happening that day and turn it into an adventure, as children often do. I suppose that they were playing video games in this episode, and wound up imagining themselves into the game. NES was popular at the time, and if you really listen and look closely, the sounds, music, and imagery are "inverted" and not exactly the originals to the real games.

  • It sounds like Super Mario Bros 2 at 6:14

  • thats what i thought too lol

  • At 3:56, I almost thought the fanfare theme from Super Mario 64 was gonna play. You know, the song that plays when you accept a race with the penguin or Koopa.

  • the regend of imelda!!! wow i remember that

  • Ha at 8:04, it's a warp zone from Captain N the gamemaster which are suppose to be like warp pipes.XD

  • lol thats priceless!

  • This episode is from 1990. This is actually the first episode of season 7.

The first few season 7 episodes also made it into the syndication package (sort of like how the Murakami-Wolf-Swenson episodes of Alvin and the Chipmunks both aired on NBC in fall 1988 AND were in the fall 1988 syndication package.)

  • Well I'll be

  • It actually aired in December 1989 according to several episode guides.

  • Son of supermario brothers, lol.

  • NES was made that time before the SNES.

  • Really funny, i first learned of Star Wars from watching this show when i was a kid.

  • @Xantexhunter lol me too.

  • lol out of my way shortie!

  • these kids must be older than 2 if they can play video games, babies wouldn't know how to play video games.

  • riiight.. that's where they skewed from realism.. lol

  • I loved this cartoon! Baby Kermit is so cute!

  • lol Gonzo and Mario both have similar looking noses

  • i love the music in the Legend of Emeralda game

  • Piggy: out of my way Shortie! lol

  • This show is so cute!

  • well thats whats great they didnt break any of it calling it those names

  • this episode is epic

  • 3:00 - Wow like three game references mashed into one: Miss Piggy dressed as Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden) going through that structure dodging obstacle (Donkey Kong) to get tothe King Koopacabana (King Koopa from Marios Bros.) =-p

This is the 80's; when as a kid I was in love wit hthis episode simply cause nintnendo was the greatest thing back then. Still is I still own my old NES and the game collection still grows.

  • "Adventueres a Link Sausage"

    "Legend of Imelda"

    LOL!

Shigi must have wanted to go strangle Jim Henson on that day!

  • 3:36 made me laugh..."not a chance mutant pig"

  • wow he's tripping bad

  • lol

  • i miss the show so much. thanks for the memories it brings back in the 80's. today's cartoon just sucks.

  • sigh I miss the the time of my youth.

  • Allright! They squeezed in the Mario 2 underground music

  • Yes this is my favorate episode cuz i got all of those games on nintend and im a hardcore gamer lol thanks for uploadin this episode i cant find it anywhere

  • loved this show! i used to watch the hell out of this back in the day!

  • Donkey Kong, Tetris, Skate or Die!, King's Quest(?)...I love all these references! Had no idea what they were for the most part when I was 5. Good memories.

  • Thanks for posting this. I remember watching this all of the time when I was little. Used to be one of my favorite cartoons. I am 28 years old now. And I still love this cartoon as much now as I did then.

  • I loved this show so much!

  • OMG I LOVE THIS SHOW xDD

  • Who did the voices for Frogger, King Copacabana, and the skateboard dudes? Was it Dave Coulier, Frank Welker or Greg Berg?

  • Sorry, I believe that I answered this question on part 2 or part 3 of this episode.

  • Frank Welker

  • What NES game is the sound effect at 6:17? Is that SMB 2? Its bugging the shit out of me.

  • I think you're right - I believe it's the background music to the "underground" music in the desert areas in SMB2.

  • does anyone know what that shmup was supposed to reference?

i remember playing that game on the SNES but I can't remember what it's called (possibly on the NES)

  • Fantasy Zone.

  • i grew up watching this show. it was one of my faves and i was so sad when it was cancelled.

thankyou for the upload. this brings back great memories! =)

  • Gonzo as Mario?

  • lol that was funny

  • love those 80's cartoons.

  • It looked as though Gonzo was using a Wii but that's obviously wrong.

  • I'm surprised Nintendo and Lucasfilm never sued, considering that they're Nintendo and Lucasfilm.

  • Actually, Lucasfilm and Jim Henson Studios are partnered. Jabba and Yoda are actually "muppets", creations of Jim Henson/Muppet studios. So I'm sure Lucasfilm had no problem letting Henson use some stock Star Wars footage.

  • this is great, i use to wake up every weekend morning and watch this cartoon, i miss them days.

  • Well at least they didn't have the Power Glove.

  • Miss Piggy "Hiya Kopa cabana".................

Mr Kopa Cabana "Hiya Yourself" that made me laugh Hahahaha! (^_^) I seriously miss being a kid back then..........not much of a worry in the world

  • ah, the days when Video games used to be so much fun. Now it's all about shooting and trying to kill people. This was one of my fave episodes

  • @italianman1992 - "Ah, the days when Video games used to be so much fun. Now it's all about shooting and trying to kill people." Yup, and beating up street corner hookers, and trying to do Thug Thug Revolution to old Dr. Dre songs, lawl GTA San An. Sure, games and graphics have advanced in the past two decades, but the classics will always be that, classics. I'll take Secret of Mana and Zelda over World of Warcrack and Everlame any day.

  • Animal is the cutest Muppet Baby

  • 1:26 - Donkey Kong!

    2:54 - Donkey Kong Jr.!

6:15 - This music almost reminds me of Super Mario Bros. 2

  • See how piggy just ran past the obsticales at 3:30? She must have been using Acion Replay!

  • haha skate or die ftw

  • I love this game!

  • "The legend of imelda" = "The Legend of Zelda" LMAO

  • tetris lmao

  • The Legend of Wimelda or whatever it i,s, uses a Super Mario 2 theme....

  • Emelda

  • yeah, I noticed that too!

how the hell did Nintendo not sue :P all in all, it was free advertising, I guess! :P

  • Can't sue over parody, i don't think.

  • HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! omg!! i remember i would be so excited to come home from school to watch this show!! i HAD to get home on time!!!! lol.

  • At 3:14, what system could that Donkey Kong be for:

    Coleco Vision

    Atari

    NES

    I have no clue...

  • The NES!

  • Sounds more like a church organ than a video game

  • Classic vintage throwback. How nostalgic. =) Also did anyone notice the correlation to the real videogames?? Like the Super Mario Bros. 2 underground theme at 6:15.

  • Hey! Whoever uploaded this, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Makes me wanna dig out my old Nintendo from my closet, and PLAY IT ALL NIGHT LONG!

  • This episode appears to be from 1990 or 1991, not 1989

  • wiley its from 1990 the syndication messed up the episodes

  • Poor Skeeter gettimg thrown on the floor because Gonzo jumped on her trampoline

  • I miss this show I talk to The Jim Henson Company about airing it on Disney Channel

  • I did too and though they kindly responded they said they have no plans to do so.

  • That's it we got to protest Sid the Science Kid until they meet our demands when Sid the SCience Kid airs yu are not to mention it or watch it got me we'll get our Babies back on TV

  • !the nes is a playstation¡

  • I noticed on the game that Fozzie holds up, it has many shapes on it so one might think it's some sort of Tetris game.

But when the game starts with Fozzie it's nothing but square blocks that fall.

  • The music at 3:21 when Piggy enters the Donkey Kong Game, and the music when Fozzie plays the block game are the same. Just an observation.

  • This is the first episode to have different music in the title card because Rob Walsh lefted after the previous episode

  • "Musical bridge"

    "Gonzo, get off my piano!"

    RMAOL!

  • HEY! thats my woopie cushion

  • This show was so awesome. Notice at the start of the Zelda parody they actually play a rendition of the underworld music from Super Mario Brothers 2.

  • Animal should have dissapeared after he chewed the gum ball Gonzo threw at him.

I guess Animal was not an enemy like in the game, so he got to not dissapear.

  • Pause it at 5:09! The blocks that Fozzie are sitting atop of resemble the shape of a Q-Bert's Cube Level.

  • Some of the games that Gonzo rattles off while digging through the closet sound like they don't exist.

Son of Super Mario Bros. for instance?

I don't think there is such a game. Is there?

  • I'm guessing it's a reference to all of those Mario game sequels.

  • Galaxy Invaders and Skateboards Of Doom?? Are they both parodies of Space Invaders and Skate or Die, respectively?

  • "I'm Melting! What a world!" is what the dragon says at 3:52. That is from Wicked Witch Of The West when Dorothy melts her by throwing the water at her!

  • You are gods for uploading this. I've looked everywhere!

  • kermit's voice sounds funny.

  • That's because its Frank Welker as Kermit

  • That's because its actually Frank Welker doing Kermit and Skeeter

  • Piggy: Screams Gonzo what do you think your'e doing?

    Gonzo: I'm doing great Piggy

Rowlf: Hey Gonzo get off of my piano

    Gonzo: A magical piano bridge

Gonzo: 300 points if I flatten this toadstool

Fozzie: But Gonzo that's my whoopie cushion

Gonzo: Nothing can stop me now

    Skeeter: Wanna bet?!

All: Gonzo your'e driving us nuts!

    LOL

  • I say we get this show back in US syndication I'm sending a letter to Henson's children abotu the launch of The Jim Henson Channel

  • I've tried and though the henson company responded they said they have no plans and think it isn't in popular demand. BUt good luck to you.

  • Oh yeah, this show would be way too hard to release on DVD due to way too many licensing issues!

  • Sending letters never work. That's been done many times to other companies, it has not worked.

  • This is the ayndicated opening seen on Nickelodeon and Odyssey Network

  • My favorite Muppet Babies episode.

  • That's the first time I've seen Piggy be a hag to Kermit

  • Some of the games showcased in this episode (Part 1):

    - Donkey Kong (0:38, 1:23, 3:13)

    - Donkey Kong Jr. (2:54)

    - Tetris (4:47)

    - The Legend Of Zelda (6:15)

    Whatever I missed, note me.

  • What game are they playing at 4:52??

It reminds me of Tetris, but the object is to squeeze as many blocks as possible into that grid it looks like.

Tetris is too make lines from falling blocks.

Anyone know of any game where the object is to squeeze as many blocks efficiatly as possible in a space?

  • I recognise Donkey Kong, Frogger, Vigilante, Phantasy Zone.

I don't recognize Esmerelda:Quest For The Golden Key??

Is that an actual game? If so, for what system?

  • I think it's supposed to be a parody of the Legend of Zelda, but then again, I haven't seen this episode in awhile until now, lol.

  • Legend of "Emelda" not Esmerelda, was supposed to be a parody of "The Legend of Zelda." It was originally an NES game.

  • esmerelda is supposed to be a play on zelda

  • The correct name is Fantasy Zone.

  • one of the best episodes! thanks a lot!

  • Nice upload!
