I like the way Dennis looks. He's a wonderful speaker. He's a regular guy. He is for making life better for more people. Do people enjoy being idle 24/7?
sadly, he doesn't "look" presidential. Not at all an issue for me, but it seems clear that half of this country votes for the person they'd rather have over for dinner rather than actually looking at qualifications (or intelligence.)
america has its own people became divided, thats what i see from over seas here. Media manipulates in any way they can , same over here in europe, exept some smaller public TV stations nobody talked about americas interests in the middle east or over the whole world...
NO! What about Lebanon/Israel. What about the Balkans. The "no two functioning democracies have ever gone to war with eachother" argument is very weak. What is a democracy anyway? Hell, Iran has greater political access points for the average person at the local level that the U.S. Look at our civil freedoms. Look at our incompetent and unaccountable media and civil society.
Thank you Dennis I urge you to shame the congress into watching the movie Iraq for Sale. Its congress duty to see how our money is being spent right? After watching Iraq for Sale how could anyone vote to give the War proffiters one more dollar? Againe Thank you for having a spine.
Dennis, can you please talk further about how economic support in Iraq could stabilize or improve the situation there? And what are some of the best ways we could do that?
quietpainter, so if I understand you (and it's quite possible I don't), "peace" is not possible as long as we don't "solve" the problems of "greed" and "cultural hatred". Am I right? In which case, why bother to try, correct? So "peace" isn't possible and only by SOLVING the problems of "greed" and "cultural hatred" can we even begin to...do what?
Sorry, it is you who is not realistic. There are more instances of a peaceful world every day than war-torn world. It just depends on where you are. On my street today it is very peaceful. The USA uses its power to make sure the wars are in other people's backyards. If the USA govt. and people wanted peace we could start with honesty, and stop fomenting war and exploitation across the globe.
Once again Dennis tells the truth, thank you! Congress has a responsibility to bring the troops home! Why is it that when a politician actually says the truth about having an honest US Foreign Policy that the media and Washington beltway pundits say it is "silly." Yes, how strange that Congress still keeps the war going. Bring the troops home!
Is this your best rational argument? Here is a history lesson. The Roman Empire invaded the lands north of Rome populated by the indigenous Germanic tribes. To justify the invasion, the Romans called them Barbarians. The Barbarians eventually conquered Rome and retook their lands back from the Roman Empire. I do believe history will repeat itself. The Roman Empire fell because of its arrogance and so will we if we continue down this immoral path.
quietpainter, what's your point? that humans are incapable of being peaceful? does that mean we just give up and never work for peace? who are the barbarians?
Keep speaking up Dennis. You need to be loud and proud to play in this game.

(cont) or are you only saying that until Dennis "understands" the barbarians, he can't talk about peaceful options?
btw, you didn't answer my question....who are the barbarians?

Everybody: Call your member of Congress today. Insist on a vote this week to deny the new war appropriation; the war should end now.
Yes, Dennis, it's time to end this madness!
