  • Probably would have been easier to use a regular snowblower and just disengage the drive wheels, or use the drive wheel power to turn your shoot.

  • looks like the atv is wider than the snow blower, if so, it's not gonna work efficiency as the atv will be riding onto of the snow and the blower will not get low enough to clear it.

  • Cheap but Functional and Practical A++++++++++++++ for you!

  • just be easyer just use the old lawn tracter that was on the snow blower then get you nice atv rusty from the salt from the road snow

  • Ha definitely go take some high school welding lessons again, but otherwise nice work.

  • Sobota.. wieczór, a ja oglądam odśnieżarki ..

Moje życie nie ma sensu :(

  • do u have counter weights on the back cause thats a lot of weight on the front?

  • @122ffsdd I wouldn't think there would be a need for a counter weight, since he welded casters to the blower frame.

  • cool man. but you need some welding lessons LOL

  • yeeeeeeeeeeehawwwwwwwww

  • hey, it beats shoveling! the only problem you are going to have is turning especially when you cut a path in deep snow since there is so much out in front you get locked into your own channel. I know from experience.

  • nice good make!!!

  • I stopped watching 10 seconds in and started plaing my air banjo. . .

  • u should try making it have all contorls on the atv and a shut off switch under the seat so when you get off the blower stops

  • nice welds hahahah

  • where did you get the snowblower for that cheap

  • To the haters of this video, you guys probably are the ones that put the lawnmower or snowblower out for the trash when it doesn't start anymore. Get a life...please.

  • I like your idea, nice engineering on your part. Whoever didn't like this is obviously not mechanically inclined at all. Hope you got it working to where you're happy. Great job!

  • 3 Sundays that you will NEVER get back and that thing will break when you need it the most.

  • please reply. im thinking about getting that atv. is it good?

  • thats bad ass

  • can you detach it?

  • omg best dead rising weapon ever!

  • the builder had as much fun building the unit as he does running it! Sure glad if snowed so he could check out operation. Hope that exhaust tube rotates another 20 degress aft. Good work Yankee DIY and save spirit!!!

  • Some day ATV's will have a PTO

  • Nice Job.

  • what a waste of steele....that one hunk of junk...

  • excellent job. you put your know-how to good use. don't listen to all the knuckleheads posting negative comments. they are ALL jealous because they "don't" know how to do what you do. one more thing that custom ATV snow blower needs is you wrapped in a canopy to keep you warm and dry so you can drink a nice cup of hot chocolate or coffee. keep up the good work !!!!!

  • if im right thats an old jacobson/ford snowblower

  • Its made to be powered from the stronger tractor motor.

  • Do you get enough weight on the ATV to push through? We made some thing similar but it was on the front of our bolens tractor and we had to keep adding weight.

  • co jak co ale spawać to ty nie umiesz

  • fuckin stupid

  • nice blower

  • drewmw1010, great job, am presently working on making one myself using a JD snow thrower and a Harbor Freight 13hp motor. One issue I have is the pulley runs in the opposite direction from how yours does. But I will succeed. Love a challenge and love building something with my own hands, don't have a welder so having to bolt everything together, but I know it can be done. Would be interested in seeing some close up pictures if you have any available. Thx and Happy New Year.

  • love to know what it wieghs, but hey , works good.

  • Your engine pulley is to small. The tractors PTO pulley for the blower is 5-7/8" diameter.

With that your auger and impeller speed will be a lot faster and it will throw snow like it should. I've got the same blower on a 1980 LGT 165 and it will throw 30ft.

  • dude that is awesome. Just busted out a home made snow plow for my argo and was looking for ideas for a snow blower. This vid got me the idea i need. good vid man.

  • any idea what year this blower is? I would assume late 60's-early 70's

  • My neightbor did the same thing but Ever since we got the snow blower for the back of our kubota he just pays us to do his driveway,

  • lol it fits the tractor because thats what its for i have a friend with like 10 of these attachments and a couple of tractors

  • Where's the video of it in action! Make sure you get video this winter.

  • Can you raise and lower it or do the casters bear the weight the entire time its attached?

  • nice work but you have way to much time on your hands!!!!!! LOL

  • You're a pretty handy fellow. That is quite a piece of equipment.

  • Cool setup.

  • love it when talented guys like him build their own...if it brakes he can always fix it again....please move in next door,,,you can fix my equipment any time...great job!

  • This is sweet, can't beat the price! And there's no way a plow moves as much as a blower, all else being equal, let's be real folks. Had a tracked Brute Force last winter and beat the plow to a twisted wreck pushing and re-pushing and RE-pushing snow. Once pass with the blower and it would have been done, instead of bulldozing into 10 foot piles with the plow. Very nice!

  • That's a great setup! I can't believe how cheap it all was and even if a blade works for 10 or 12 inches when you have a bad storm or 16+ inch drifts at least you have a good alternative. The only thing I would have done different is taken the auger and most of the frame bolts out and painted the chute and body a nice green color to match your ATV. I would have then replaced all the nuts and bolts with those rust-proof ones from Lowes but that's just me.

  • Nice build.

  • Why didn't you just make a snowplow?

  • looks great dude i like the vid and i also like to see folks make their own stuff shows craftmanship great job. 5 stars

  • i think a reg. plow would have worked better

  • ghetto as fuck lol but cool...i wouldda just made a home made snow plow

  • You the man!

  • Thats an awesome rig...good job!

  • i feel cheated! i thought you would run some type of PTO set up,so i watched the whole vid . booo but nice job

  • and it is a yamaha kodiak!! one of the best 4 wheelers to get the job done!!-same as a big bear 400

  • that will work great when the snow is dry

  • priceless

  • noo,30 bux :]

  • Great job bringing that old beast back to life. I need a welder for home projects too.

  • i just read through the comments by others i cant believe what a bunch of assholes some of you are. this man made this video of something that he liked to share with others and you all cut him down by saying what a piece of crap. lets see you all do something like this, jealous assholes, drewme1010 you done a fine job on this

  • well sir i think that you done a very good job on that. those are the best engines to use i think, the ones used to pump water, the pumps where out, but the engines are still good and the people just through them away. 5*s good job!!!

  • all that hard worck for nothing

  • Here kitty kitty!

  • looks like you need a shovel motherfucker

  • Your are right. when I hook up my steel plow on the front of my ATV 5-6 passes and Bam I'm done in like 10 min. BUT when we get anything over a foot of snow then my ATV snowblower work great cuts through the snow like butta. the blade will but starts to bog down. I am between Buffalo and Rochester and people that live here know what I mean, we get hit hard with snow. then if all fail i use my chevy plow truck.. ha

    Thanks D~

  • @ole9421 You are so full of shit!!! You don't live in South Dakota.

  • @ole9421

you would get about 5' outside your garage, and youd be done plowing during a storm up here, 4th gear my ass the snow is usually 3' deep when we get storms

  • dang 80 bucks for a honda 11hp? thats a steal!!!

  • Ya gotta love craigslist

  • @drewme1010 i love craiglist every thing is cheap but you can fi and paint it and it looks like brand new

  • @smile0245 honda is very very veeeryyy bad....

  • Brilliant!! ...and your welding if fine. It holds doesn't it? Yea! American Inginuity!!

  • Thank.... Them welds should hold till I'm long gone +50 more years. ha

  • where did you get an engine that cheap

  • Off of craigslist he wanted $100 bucks but it needed a muffler. The motor had a easy life as a tank sprayer.

  • i would rather build one to, its funny most people don't get enjoyment out of building something themselves

  • I love it when you have the right tools.

    thanks

  • Poor ATV.

    You gonna ruin it!

  • Maybe after years, but its just like pushing snow with a blade on the front. It could use some tire chains.

  • That's even too nice a job to call redneck engineering!!

  • Thanks, i think my welding is a little redneck

  • If it holds together it's good enough.

  • why buying an expensive chinese chit ? If you can build one cheap strong stuff and have pleasure to use it , you're right built it !!!

  • Under $300 that's my kinda build. ha

  • Excellent!

  • Thanks

  • totally go back to welding school haha

  • does it lift up and down? i'm thinking about doing the same thing but for my lawn tractor, but I have a cobblestone driveway and grass pathways to clear so it would need to lift up and down

  • Rotary brush

  • I have seen them, are the good in the deep snow?

I think I should build one soon.

  • 10 inchs is max, anything more then blade

  • Awsome! That's how everyone should do! Stop buying and build it your self ! Great job man! that's how mankind is suppose to work!

  • cool stuff

  • the vice grip pulley looks a lil scary, but u did well... creative

  • I personnally like the 6013 1/8" rod. 3 Sundays? I thought that was the lords day?

  • Who cares if things need gettin done.

  • what song is that playing???

  • built one just like that last year just used a 42inch John deere blower but single stage, not as good but worked great for years! We average about 150" per year, my 1 ton diesel truck with a 8'6" vee plow cant push what that little blower can do! Great Job!

  • Thanks You,

Yeah I'll see this winter 2009 hopefully well get some good storms so i can put this thing to use I'll have to post a film anything over 3 feet. ha

    Gota love them V-Pows

  • Thats so cool... I'm actually thinking of something simular to this.. I live in the Hills of Ky and in the mountain behind my house id like to make a road to get up to where i ride."Short Cut"... Theres alot of places that would need dug out.. So i was thinking of coming up with a way to mount a Garden Tiller on to the front of my 4wheeler.. That way when i came across something that needed dug out abit, I could do so without using a shovel.. Prob a crazy idea,, but i suppose thats the fun of it

  • Hey might work for the big snow.. make sure you have over a 10 HP motor, I was going to go bigger but found this Honda for a great price. I gota tell ya Honda make 1hell of a motor the thing runs like a bear.

  • very cool!

  • Thank You

  • Wayyy better than a shovel :)

Remember if ya can't weld good weld lots sooner or later it'll hold!

  • ha.. Yeah i kinda over did it on the welds but someone gave me 3 boxes of 6013 welding rod for free. so i over killed it.

  • Very Nice.

  • Ha... yeah I think your right mawheegan my welding is a little over-kill and kinda sloppy. only been welding for 4-5 years and never had nothing bust yet , so if it hold, Hey job done!

    D~

  • ya know son.......I been weldin' fer dang neer 30 yeer an' if'n it don't bust its a good un'...heh heh heh.. I seen lotsa folks went ta school and had all kinda fancy papers coodn't weld worth doodlyskwat....

  • Thass rite thar Drew -boy..........heckuva job if'n I sez so meseff.

  • sweet good job
