this movie scared the ' outta me when i was lil ' haha i thought my aunts suitcase had 'the blob' in it... her and my grandma left ( we lived on a1a in florida ) and told me and my sis' that it was in there.. then left it right by the condo door ( exit ) .. haha i had to pee so bad and was scared to death to get off the bed.... about 6 or 7 years old *)

this movie is a great and fun movie to watch. i am a big steve mcqueen fan and thought that he was really good in this.saw this film as a kid in the 70's and i have been a fan of the film ever since.the remake in the 80's not so good.you can't compare kevin dillon to steve mcqueen the king of cool.

It's budget was less than half of say King Kong (a classic which many people will not debate) which was made over 20 years earlier, and that without taking into account the increase in money valuation. I hope you can appreciate why its regarded as a classic now.

My dad took my to go see The Blob at a theater in downtown LA when I was a kid. Scared the holy crap out of me. Couldn't sit in the movie theater seat with my little feet dangling over the edge for fear the Blob would creep under my seat and eat me! Felt so sorry for the little dog in the movie. I kept asking my dad if the Blob had eaten it. I don't remember if the dog got eaten or not by the Blob!
