I have yet to get close enough to a mulie with my AR15. I got pulled for a winter hunt in Oregon last year, which was supposed to be a once in a lifetime opportunity to get the biggest mule deer in the area, we only saw does but we saw plenty of the big boys tracks... any tips?
Some people just don't understand what huntings about. Its not like we just shoot an animal and leave it, we use it. It's better taking an animal who has had a good full free life for out nutrition than an animal that's been fattened up in a pen and put on a convayer belt to be slottered. Nice deer. I wish I could put a bullet in one like those. Im 15 and ive seen deer as big as those but there always 100 150 away when I got my bow. I try to bring them in with grunts and antlers but it never seems to work. Shot gun season I rattled for 45 min and heard them but they never came out. Anytips?
Keep trying. I once wrote an article for a magazine called "Breaking the 50 Yard Barrier". Once you get inside that range a few times it will keep getting easier. Move your stand to the trail they are using. Never hunt a stand if the wind is wrong. As with anything else we hunt ... you have to be where they want to be. Control your scent. I heard you say you rattled and "they never came out". Go in! Good luck!!

@ charn1996 iv shot both gun they are both very nice rifles but the 243 has a quicker shot than a 30-30 and i also think the 243 kicks harder than a 30-30 by far.

nice deer that you got there. I was going to ask you what gun you use, and what caliber. I am 12 and I have a savage 110 243, I am going to go deer hunting this year.I am 4" 10" and 90 pounds. I live in mt pleasant utah. I was going to ask what was your favorite gun to shoot, and what is your favorite game to hunt. Nice deer. I wish I could put a bullet in one like those. Im 15 and ive seen deer as big as those but there always 100 150 away when I got my bow. I try to bring them in with grunts and antlers but it never seems to work. Shot gun season I rattled for 45 min and heard them but they never came out. Anytips?

Keep trying. I once wrote an article for a magazine called "Breaking the 50 Yard Barrier". Once you get inside that range a few times it will keep getting easier. Move your stand to the trail they are using. Never hunt a stand if the wind is wrong. As with anything else we hunt ... you have to be where they want to be. Control your scent. I heard you say you rattled and "they never came out". Go in! Good luck!!

@codehookBlabBla The shot was 330 yards with a 150 grain bullet from a Borwning A-Bolt 7mm Remmington Mag. These deer are huge and can suck up some lead. He was dead. Shot through the front shoulders lungs. Thanks for liking my videos. I'll be putting more up soon.

@OngaroOutdoors I live in PA and our hunting season starts tomorrow. I use a Remington .243 and I killed my first buck (5 pt ) last year. Im 14 and I may go with a .30-30 this year, im 5'10 115 Pounds, should i use it or go with .243 again?
