  • thank you jerichosownage this guy is crap compared to Carl Anderson

  • Seriously, can't get over the feeling bad sync gives. Whoever mounted this didn't do it good (though could be youtube's fault)

  • I like how this guy just runs around and the priests just watch him thinking "yeah, whatever guy."

  • Why did they think Quentin Tarantino was the best guy to play Judas?

  • @axel7200 Thats actually Jerome Pradon.

  • @fanofwar40k I'm pretty sure he was joking.

  • @axel7200 ahahahahahahaha

  • Yes, I prefer Carl Anderson over this guy, but there isn't one bad thing i can say against him, he plays and sings so well. But I dont like Glenn Carter's acting in this film. Jesus in this movie acts like he is fed up with Judas, i prefer Ted Neeley's feelings towards Judas.

  • This Judas is the best thing with the 2000 verson, not saying he is better than Carl Anderson, but he shines out of the cast from 2000.

  • @Bright2Dark Your attempt at humor is really lame.

  • "And furthermore, I know that Jesus thinks so too/Jesus wouldn't mind that I was here with you" -- I've always perceived "Damned For All Time" a desperate attempt on Judas's part to rationalize his actions and absolve himself of blame because he feels guilty about his decision to betray Jesus. Pradon does an excellent job of portraying how incredibly conflicted Judas is, so much so that he's nearly frantic (which is part of the reason why Judas is somewhat sympathetic in this show).

  • Does anyone know why they changed lyrics a bit?

I am frightened by the crowd

For we are getting much too loud

    to

    And our conquerors object

    To another noisy sect

  • @darkjudas1 The whole theme with the Romans being fascists was way more emphasized in this production, look at the Intro and Simon Zealotes as well, it's in keeping with that feeling.

  • @darkjudas1 The whole theme with the Romans being fascists was way more emphasized in this production, look at the Intro and Simon Zealotes as well, it's in keeping with that feeling.

  • This is too British for my liking...no offense to the boys over there, but I'm too used to hearing it in an American accent.

  • All comments in these clips are about wich the best version or singer.. I'll say.. Murray Head is still the best Judas! :D

  • This is weirdly out of sync.

  • It amuses me when Christians claim to like this musical :)

  • @mushroom1212 Why? Does faith dissallow you from enjoying good music?

  • He sounds too high pitched, not enough soul in his voice, Carl did it best!

  • Do they not use the guitar intro in this version?

  • I like his voice in this. It's not powerful, nor as good as Carl Anderson's, but it adds to the panic and hysteria that his face shows.

  • Man, Sisko can really hit those low notes...

  • Jerome Pradon is awesome. (:

  • People's Republic of North Judas is Best Judas

  • carl anderson is the best judas

  • Annas: Who you callin' Pinhead?

  • I love this Judas, they show him much different the way then most think of him. I mean he was chosen by God to betray Jesus, and you can see in this movie that he clearly loves Jesus but he doesn't understand why he has to betray him. It's probably the most realist Judas I've seen

  • @kaybbayyy2362 Carl Anderson plays the same character, just with more power in his emotions. Sometimes within his portrayal you can almost see as if he is about to cry; he screams with such intensity that you see truly into a tortured, tragic character.

  • is it me that judas mouth is moving a Little to fast then the words ???

  • 1.52 though judas was gonna take a new approach to persuasion

  • this judas is good but carl anderson is still the best

  • Why do people have so much trouble accepting multiple versions of the same story. Its based on a play, that's what plays do. Why must we pick a favorite or act as though this is trying to replace the 70s one.

  • This Caiaphas can barely hit the low notes. Victor Brox rules.

  • No disciple of a false Messiah would ever get away with putting his hands on the high priest.

  • @jesusthroughmary false??? pardon me, but are you Jewish by any chance???

  • @HappyWeirdo3 No, I'm not, , but the five priests in the scene are, and they perceive Christ to be a false Messiah. Judas is not only not of the priestly class, but he is a commoner and a disciple of a false Messiah. He would never touch the high priest, as at 1:50, and he certainly wouldn't get away with it.

  • @jesusthroughmary it's hardly fair to criticize an anachronism such as that when Simon and his followers are waving assault rifles at the Romans are donning their riot helmets.

  • 0:20 I swear, i thought that was voldemort at first glance.

  • both Judas interpretations are different naturally...this is the one of my generation so I prefer it but my mum will always love the 1973 version...

  • whos the real victim in this testament?

I mean jesus had a really bad month, right, but judas here, who killed himself before jesus died for the sins of mankind, which was used from the beginnig....he will be damned for all time? why are we preaching to jesus? we should preach for judas!

  • @Bright2Dark No, suicide is bad.

  • @bowserhunter1 Why is suicide bad? There's nothing in the bible that speaks against it.

  • @dadevi Suicide is bad because you are destroying the gift of life from God, which i guess is stated in the Bible that life IS a gift from God, right?

  • @DudeinGold Slavery could be argued as bad as well. But it's perfectly allowable in the Bible. Strangely suicide isn't listed as a sin, so...I guess it's okay. :/

  • @DudeinGold Suicide is murder, specifically the murder of oneself.

  • hahaha its kinda hard for Judas to "Get up off the floor" when Annas pushes him down! :P

  • at :22 they mis spelled Judas on the wall

  • The look on Annas face when Judas puts a hand on hid shoulder, anyone looked at me that way I would run

  • 1:21 - 1:33: The movie was okay for a redo, but that sax solo sucked! Jeez

  • I can't figure out how people actually prefer this guy over Carl Anderson...

  • @JerichosOwnage seriously.. i dont see it either

  • @JerichosOwnage Carl Anderson and Jerome Pradon can't be compared. They are different. Carl was a excelent Judas in his film. So was Jerome in his film. Try to do an exchange, you could see they wouldn't fit.

  • @JerichosOwnage Not to be rude, but just saying. Maybe people didn't grow up with the old version of JCS. A few people were introduced to this one in 2000. (:

  • @JerichosOwnage I don't but I think he's good. I think it's more an issue of this movie being more modern and this judas being more overtly crass/emotional.

  • Sorry, Carl Anderson is the best. His voice just....sends shivers down my spine.

  • Annas: "...we want information, get up off the floor"

*Annas throws Judas to the floor*

    explain that one to me???

  • @Kinlochbervie50

Perhaps he expects Judas to get off the floor himself, like he told him to.

  • Okay, I don't think anyone will be able to fill Carl Anderson's shoes and Judas!

  • I really like this version... And don't get me wrong the 1973 version is my favorite movie of all time.. Carl Anderson and Ted Neely Are the best!! At first I hated jeromes voice... But you have to understand he's never gonna be as good as Anderson. But he does have a good voice and he's a superb actor. It just takes getting used to if you've seen the original version all your life. :-)

  • Poor Judas, such a Woobie (thank you TV Tropes)

  • Jerome is a great Judas - love the 'whininess' he puts into his voice. You really get a sense of this character's desperation, and his weakness. The acting is also brilliant!

  • Nowhere near Carl Anderson...

  • See, I'm not buying that Judas cares whether or not he's damned, because he's been acting like an ass the whole movie.

Pradone's Judas is not sympathetic at all. There is not 'connection' between him and Jesus. So I'm not buying this scene at all.

...don't even get me started on the singing.

  • Carl Anderson was better.

  • In every vid I've seen of this 2000 production this Judas's acting has been brilliant! truly top notch performance...but i just can't stand his voice! It just doesn't do it for me. I think this performance, the acting is the best Judas I've seen but...if this guy had a carl anderson or a drew sarich voice he'd be unstoppable!

  • I love this Annas! He's so creepy and his voice is amazing.

  • "I had no thought at all about my own reward"

That's some rather specific denial to bring up unprovoked, don't you think, Judas?

Anyway, I love Jerome Prandon's acting in this.

  • I always felt that in reality. If Judas was with the Priests and gave away Jesus' location. There probably wasless him groveling and more them beating him up. >.>

  • he is not singing the wright lyrics :[

  • @kolbedoo its probably not synched right dearie (:

  • He reminds me of gollum, nasty, betray, creepy and walks on 4 legs...

  • @ThePannKaka1 And that's the problem...he's not supposed too.

  • This Caiaphas is the best in any version in my opinion. He's just so awesome.

  • @xosrakateox In my opinion Caiaphas always would have a really deep voice and he really doesn't.

  • is far better than the original. i mean the original voices were like too mild and lacked any intention

  • Yeah....

in my opinion this entire production of JCS just seems really poorly put together.

The actors have worse voices than the original and dont put nearly as much feeling in.

    It just sucks

  • Not even close to the first version, weak voice.

  • Carl Anderson PUT MUCH MORE HEART INTO HIS PERFORMANCE.. HE SIMPLY WAS JUST BETTER... IN MY HUMBLE OPINION

  • @lakotasue In your humble caps-locked opinion lol...but I agree :)

  • great music!! great lyrics!!

  • anyone else think he runs like a girl?

  • Hard to beat Carl Anderson in this role. But certainly good interpretation.

  • Does anyone else HATE Caiphas' vowels?

  • @operadood I hate them too!

I suffer when he sings :S I really prefer the 1973 version...the voices were much nicer..I really put my ears to suffer when I hear Caiaphas singing, his vowels are terrible :/

  • NANANANANANANANA JUUDASSS

  • I think the voices and video are out of sync.

  • I like this Caiaphas...

  • Where can i get the soundtrack but i mean the one from this production? anyone?!

  • @Huey4991 Amazon should have it and every once and a while you can find it at Barnes and Noble or Half Price Books. Best Buy might have it, but I would hesitantly put that out there.

  • I would hit like, but it's 111 and 11. I don't want to break all the 1's...

  • i totally lovee thiis song

i´m doiing this musical and iis soo cool (H)

  • 2:01 judas' shriek of pain lol

  • Original version "why are we the prophets, why are we the ones"

This version "why are we the prophets, why am i the one"

They really trying to make Juda's and the priests look like pure evil in this one, jeeze.

    I just noticed the differences.

  • @jacobnrrs I would agree they try to make the priests seem evil but I wouldn't say they try to make Judas pure evil.

  • :C I do like the original so much more, and I hate the actors cast for some of the roles, but Annas and Caiaphas are cast perfectly, with wonderful and fitting voices.

  • Ever stop to think that maybe a book laced in metaphor of lessons on how to live, may have been misread or misunderstood, def, has been misinterpreted, since there are 6 billion different interpretations, of it just because some may use the same words, everyone. After all just because 12 disciples were chosen by Jesus or God to pass along the story, does not make intelligence, morals, lack of ignorance a given. Now wait before you rebut this as anti-religious sediment I assure you its not..

  • @MrNachtlich Yeah, I've thought about it, but in the end it doesn't make that much difference. The amount of distortion is incredibly minimal; in the past, people spent their whole lives dedicated to making sure there wasn't a single mistake in the Bible and re-writing it. I admit, I haven't done a lot of research on it yet, but I know the above fact for certain. By the way, since your statement isn't anti-religious, in what spirit is it given? Are you just curious?

  • The ideological symbols found in the graffiti on the wall never cease to amaze me. Gale Edwards obviously delineated the political motifs where Norman Jewison failed to deliver.

  • Those guys looked like the Cenobites from Hellraiser when they appeared in the blue lighting.

  • I really like everything about the '73 version more.

  • Best Judas, in my opinion *crosses arms*

But the video's syncing could get better

  • @TheFhux Really, bro? O_o

  • I like the other Jesus Christ superstar movie more. .

  • I like the staging and acting on this version but I'm just not sure about Judas' vocals. The guy can sing but I've heard better versions. Annas & Caiaphas are awseome though.

  • I think the director is the biggest mistake in this version. Besides Caiaphas, who are really really (my opinion) terrible, the cast aren't so bad and do have some talent. Compare to the original plot they act and do alot of strange interpretations that are so wrong through the entire movie, especially at "Superstar", So give Judas some slack, but thanks to the director, he is damned for all time.

  • In browsing the comments on these videos I've been very surprised at how much hate there is for the 2000 version. Judas's voice is not nearly as good in the 200 version but the acting is ridiculously better. The Annas in the 1973 was stupid in my opinion ... he was like whispering all the time which added some ambiguity as to his sympathy for Judas which should not exist.

  • not a huge fan of this judas

  • LOVE Judas, Caiaphas and Annas !

2000 version is as good as it can be ! ;)

  • hate this judas...weak fellow

  • I like the '73 Caiaphas and Annas much more.

    Just my opinion.

  • Comment removed

  • agree with MrMasterWiz

  • Annas looks like John Malkovitch

  • man, judas is bad at lip syncing

  • @megamo234 A) this IS judas singing, And B) the video may be a little out of sync

  • Matrix the Musical.

  • Can anyone tell me who the tall white priest guy with the deep voice is? I searched cast list and I get some short blue eyed guy. That cannot be him. He is at least priest one or two.

  • Nooo Jerome! Don't tell them....

    Damn, too late -_-

  • ...God.

I really really love jerome here.

I can feel his angst perfectly. I feel like to pat his shoulder and say: "sorry, luv, but you will be damn for all time Uu" xD

  • I like the naziness of the priests :p

Makes them look really authoritarian and cold, not to mention that it's kinda sexy XD

  • When the priests show up, illuminated by spotlights, am I the only one who instantly thought "Oh no, Cenobites!"?

  • this is why 73' judas is 10 times better...

  • Shame that the syncing is off...

  • Is it me or this isn't properly synced?

  • Lip synch in the video is a little off. Otherwise... it's pure awesome :)

  • Caiaphas' basso never fails to impress.

  • While Carl was the better singer, Jerome is certainly the better actor, you can feel his conflict in his voice and his facial expression. Meanwhile, the High Priests, especially Fredrick and Michael, are awesome!

  • LO ADORO.

  • the original Jesus Christ Superstar with Ted Neely is sooooo much better.

  • @o0BigMac0o the original JCS is with Ian Gillian as Jesus, lead singer of Deep Purple/Black Sabbath, in 1970. And, THAT version is definitely soooooo much better.

  • When Judas sings "just don't say I'm damned for all time", I would love it if one of the priests was like "you're damned for all time, buddy"

  • They casted Lord Voldemort as Annas? Oh my! XD

  • @LauriElphaba never knew voldi could sing.

  • ... The orignial was way better :I

  • Wow this Judas is terrible at lipsynching lol

  • @schmitty422 hes not lipsynching... i men he probably is but i believe the people who put the video up on youtube delayed the movements so it wouldnt get tooken off of youtube due to copyright

  • have you notice that the last part of the song, when judas sing so slowly is a playback? you'll see...

  • That is one thing this play does...........Judas comes across as very sympathetic.....more so than even Pilat. It gives a very different perspective, and that isn't blood money or mud honey. The law and fees, who here might not do the same? Oh well, if only John could have kept doing "his baptisim thing."

  • I LOVE JUDAS! No offense to fans of the 70's version, but this Judas show so much more emotion!

  • I think Jerome Pradon puts more emotion into the character of Judas than anyone else I've seen.

  • byfar, the best Annas in EXISTENCE

  • I like the original one more because in the older one the priests sorta befriend Judas with the money. In this one they crowd around him and try to intimidate him.

  • meh. It's like...Jerome's OKAY. But he's too, how should I put this.....squeaky!

  • Old version RULEZ

  • don't say i'm damned for all time!Myth for me...

  • What is his accent?!?

  • @xXicecream9995Xx Probably that of a Frenchman who lived in England for quite a while.

  • @xXicecream9995Xx french

  • @xXicecream9995Xx his accent is Received Pronunciation..... and he sings as a tenor

  • the betrayal of a God....think it was in the works children...........should not surprise me to meet Judas Son of Simon in Heaven

  • This kinda blows, not as good as the movie

  • He's too whiny.

  • I like the priests' coats.

  • The lip synch on this clip is a little off. Still good but a bit distracting.

  • @Antichrist616 Probably done to dodge YouTube's audio/video algorithm so it wouldn't get taken down. Small price to pay in my opinion! Love this version of JCS!

  • Jerome is sooo amazing!

    i love him!

  • Que buena treatralización!!!!

    me buscaré el DVD!!

  • Que buena treatralización!!!!

    me buscaré el DVD!!

  • I Like judas (Jerome) in this musical the most! I really like his voice and how he sing the songs. Jerome rocks!

  • Drew Sarich is one of the best Judas' I've heard.

  • Because that's totally relevant.

  • @PotO2004Phantom agreed!

  • when he saz give to the poor it is funny when they look at each other as if "who would give to the poor"

  • If you get the cd of this soundtrack you dont even get this song lol

  • I know! I was so ticked off when I bought the CD and this one was left out! They also leave out This Jesus Must Die, Judas' Betrayal, The Arrest, Peter's Denial, and Pilate and Christ. I mean, really, what a ripoff!

  • The "villain song" is always the catchiest. xD

I love, love the rest of the musical, but Jerome rocks.

  • ...i love this song >>. Annas is amazing XDDDDD. as is Judas ^-^

  • Annas is fun!!!
