It is hard to describe them to people. I usually ask ppl if they ever heard NIN, if they say yes, I tell em its like NIN but more experimental, with huge amounts of heroin injected into it
I've always liked this song, album or live, however, there is something about the synths that I think are better on the Doomsday one, than on the album; I'm not sure why I feel that way, something about this version that made the creep-factor stand out, I guess. Glad Ogre used a spotter for some of his acrobatics.
I am 42 and grew up in Vancouver, loving Puppy and lucky to see numerous shows during the early days. I still to this day consider this one of my favourite bands.
I have witnessed some unbelievable shows. Truly innovative musically and visually/on stage.
They could have sold a pro-dvd of this and made some money and had people put the show on youtube...or the could have not sold a pro-dvd and made no money and had people put the show on youtube. : /
I personally feel that Ogre's vocals are totally appropriate for SP's music. SP were an ultimate antagonist to the mainstream music at their time and that includes the vocals as well.
definately, it's a vocal style that wouldn't really fit any other band
lol, i remember trying to describe skinny puppy to someone once and ended up with "the electronic version of black metal" not because of the themes but it's the extreme of electronic music just like black metal is the extreme of metal
Another great part of the Doomsday! Thanks so much!

The one thing about Skinny Puppy is they're one of the few bands that you immediately recognize straight away.
The same can't be said for most, they tend to all sound like someone else.
I hold The Puppy in high regard.
Cheers

Ogre can sing when he wants to...Empte proves that....He would rather do his experimental thing.

@Ullish1989 That's a good way to describe them. No wonder I love both black metal and Skinny Puppy.

Yeah, I just got into SP and it was Ogre's voice that really hooked me. I've just never heard anything quite like it. And it fit perfectly.

This one song alone is better than the entire tour for "Greater Wrong of the Right"...

This is, by far, one of their best songs to date, with the exception of "Ghostman," of course.

Ghostman is a chrismas song. :>
Seriously, read the lyrics. Ogre was depicting modern Christmas. Good song though.
