  • love the low notes

  • It is my senior recital for undergraduate study at Lawrence University. This was in 2007.

  • this is amazing. im a trumpet player, and no that those high notes are no simple task. well done

  • Just wondering. What key is your trumpet in?

  • It is written for trumpet in Bb. Im playing on a Bach Strad mod 37 here, but have switched since.

  • Who is the composer? I'd like to know because I thought about playing this piece for solo and ensemble.

  • Rodion Shchedrin - I almost deleted this vid today too, glad I didn't I guess. Its a fun piece, enjoy!

  • fair enuf then, iv gota do my recital soon 20minutes worth, so might go for my 14A4 which is quite shallow compared to my really deep 20, il loose quite alot of the nice dark sound, but il be able to get all the high notes and i should be able to keep playing for 20minutes solid....eather that or i just practice a hell of alot more!

  • or you could possible go with the Schlike 13A4a which will also allow you to get the high notes rather easily but it's double bored which also allows you to get the deep rich sound you'll want. I use one whenever I have a solo and I thought you'd like to know about it.

  • Overall good but.... it seems like your mouthpiece is really small. This is the cause of your low F# problems. There are also some distintly lazy/sloppy parts during the performance as well which are probably a result of the same thing(small mouthpiece). I think a lot of these problems would be solved if you just went the next size deeper on your mouthpiece cup. The focus of your airstream is not developed enough to play that equipment.

  • haha! well said, but his high notes sound amazing! i thought it was a very good sound and great style for the type of piece. i cant play on small moutpieces to save my life! iv got a schilke #20 as my main one and a 14A4 if i have to play higher for extended periods of time but i do loose some of my sound quality......

  • Glad you like it. I'm playing on a bach 3c here. Not that small, but I guess small enough to cause some problems. Needless to say, I have fixed the double-buzz issue since then. I think it would have been impossible to play the whole program if I had used my 1 1/2C.

  • lol..... ok man.... awesome!

  • good solo. good job. seems like a cool song to play. i love spanish music. good pianist too.

  • hm, pretty nice gj! feel proud... piano was great too!
