  • for the standards the official website is:

ecmascript . org (original name of JavaScript)

and for all the rest mozilla is a good source:

    developer . mozilla . org / en / JavaScript

  • don't type the setInterval you got yourself a clock I learned this from one of my e-books called "Teach Yourself JavaScript in 24 hrs" I suggest watch Bucky's video he covers way more better than a book.

  • doesn't work in Mozilla 3.6, prints only once.

  • so how do I have it converted to civilian time automatically and have it function in one spot instead of repeating every time the time changes? And is this only using your own computers time? if so how would I change the source where it gets its time?

  • "whoever made javascript"-- Brendan Eich

  • 1:58 Tunaq Tunaq Tun TUNAK TUNAK TUN! TUNAK TUNAK TUN DA DA DA! /megusta

  • I have to say that this set of tutorials are great thanks really appreciate this. im trying to learn this so I can write some scripts for indesign and maybe some image galleys for a webpage.

  • what is the javascript website?

  • no it dosen't work i have done exactly the same and it did nothing

  • for guys who are curious for making it appear in the same line a simple way in this situation is to at the end of the function type in "document.close()" (with out the " and ")

  • "Let me see who it is..." (looks at phone, sees it's his mom) "Hmmm some girl is macinn on me. She'll have to wait!" lolz

  • omg Bucky prefered us before a girl *_*

  • anyone elsed loled at 1:58 xD

  • The girl clicked dislike :-)

  • Oddly enough, I couldn't get this to work at all. w3 showed how to make it display without repeating, but using html that isn't really in the scope of these tuts.

  • tutorials > girls

  • Yeah make that babe wait. hahahahaha

  • whats the deal with setInterval in Firefox? I'm starting to dislike this browser intensely..but can't ignore it.. Need a solution to the setInterval problem... anyone got ideas..?

  • @roryforde Same problem here. I love Firefox though but setInterval doesnt work for me.

  • uhm... my clock skipped a second :S

  • Here in Norway, we always write 24h time (or military time). When we say the time, we say it like you just without AM/PM.. we're smart enough to know whether it's day or night xD

  • This tutorial is making me hungry for some "Tunqa "...."Tunqa " "Tunqa " "Tunqa " "Tunqa " "Tunqa " "Tunqa "....

  • Is there some sort of clear screen line that you could use in this?

  • How do you make pretty looking alarm clocks?

  • Hey Bucky The setinternal function only works on chrome, but not on IE9 or FF5/6

  • @AsssViolator

  • I agree with realcareers, works fine in chrome, but the exact same script wont repeat in firefox4 or IE. whats wrong?????

  • !!!!!!! HELP PLEASE...NOT WORKING !!!!!

setInterval is not repeating either in firefox or IE. It writes Tuna only once but doesnt repeat. In firefox I could see the "thinking" motion in the tab as if its trying to repeat but it never does.

I use notbook++, checked every character, there are no mistakes, my script looks exactly like Bucky's. Till now everything else works, only setInterval doesn't. Is it a browser setting? how do I fix this? As Bucky says, "Whaaaaaat is going on guys?"

  • @realcareers I'm having the same exact problem. From what I understand, it looks like a cache issue with the browser; but I'm a total newb when it comes to figuring out how to stop it.

  • Aww, How come Bucky's never called me clever?

  • nice thx for tutorial

hope you do some new PHP series after javascript we'd really enjoy those

  • Could you also make tutorials on databases?About normalization. I'd really appreciate it if you can make one. Thanks!

  • PLZPLZPLZ DO YOUR C++ Tutorials SOON!!!

  • Nice! You should also make some C# tutorials :D

  • what do you do for a living?

    jw.

  • @dsm1891 He does this.

  • Date objects.. sorry dude, I'm only dating persons :P

  • @kidel3 haha...clever

  • @kidel3 Several bad puns later...

  • @kidel3 i prefer to date objects :=)

  • Nice clock... next step is to make it refresh instead of printing another one can't wait.

  • @NiceVidYouGot you can:

    1. use a div in your HTML and give it an ID like "time"

2 use the var clock = getElementById("time") function to grab the id

    3. use the clock.innerHTML() method to change the clock

3 use the setTimeout() function to refresh every 1000 milliseconds

at least thats what i did for my website

  • @jeromsavestheworld wow thanks I will try that. :)

  • @jeromsavestheworld I'm a beginner for JavaScript, and those 4 lines you typed there just helped me alot thanks!

  • @xFelicianoX your welcome

  • These tutorials are great! Keep it up!
