Venus Williams vs Vera Dushevina 2009 USO Highlights

This was one of the best matches i've ever seen Vera Dushevina play. Even though Venus played a little better and was better, this was actually one of the most entertaining matches ive seen FOR first two sets.

Dushevina seems to be a dangerous player. She almost beat Serena in Madrid, and she played very well here too

Most of the points Venus won in this match were at net. Maybe this is something she should focus on in her game more often?

Eventough she wasn't playing her best tennis, she was still tracking down so many balls. The speed factor in Venus Williams is so important! she wasn´t half as fast during the 2010 US open compared to this match.

@gonarg90 it's funny because she's still faster than 98% of the WTA at the 30... so she's either an incredible athlete or the WTA sucks... hmmm

i remember watching this live...it seemed like venus was down and out in that second set and i was screaming at the screen, but somehow she dug deep and came through. i feel like Venus should have this burning desire every single match, the way Serena does during the grand slams

@dc3fan2003 I think she does, but Kim keeps getting in her way. This us open was heartbreaking. Just knowing that Vera was waiting for Venus in the final.

@eezenwa ya..she most definitely would have added another Grand Slam to her resume had she not fell apart in that second set tiebreak
