What a freaking great scene. the tugboat is one of the last of the steam-powered tugboats in NY harbor - New York Central Railroad #24. Her days were numbered when they shot this - mabe a year or two she was gone.
Does anybody know more backstory on this? How many times did they do it? I have always thought it one of the best shots in film history --- really thrilling!
what happened to 24? was she scrapped after this? I know 13 is getting restored and 16 was scrapped by CVS in 2006 (assholes).

Yeah she's good but, what an amazing shot!! Well done to the camera operator and helicopter pilot for capturing such an extraordinary performance.
