I've never taken any classes, and I belly dance way better than that, but maybe because I am middle eastern and grew up belly dancing. But really, this has no emotions.
@coolgirlee So what? I'm sure there are plenty of dancers who are better than you as well. There is always someone better than someone else. If you are so confident in yourself, why do you feel the need to bring her down? Is there something about her that makes you feel insecure about yourself? I'm picky and I like watching her. She's not amazing, but she's not bad either.
Lisa, I am well aware that there are A LOT of belly dancers who are way better than me out there. I am not trying to bring her down, all what I am saying is this dance has no emotions. With belly dancing there are some facial expressions that need to be president where you feel this dance is complete. I am just saying that there is nothing unique about her dancing, and you don't feel the power of belly dancing through her dance. As if this makes me insecure? Definitely not.
@coolgirlee First, no, not anybody can do that. It takes time to learn. She does have emotion, you can see it in her face. She may not dance as emotionally intense as most Egyptian dancers do, but that doesn't mean her dancing isn't as good. I, personally cannot stand watching overly emotional belly dances- It's like their more about emoting than they are actually dancing. And if you are actually better than someone at something, it's tacky and rude to announce it.
To begin with, where did I mention she was bad? I said NO EMOTIONS! And she's not an amazing dancer at all. Nothing impressive. Regular shimmies and hip drops. It would of been better if the dance was more organized. It's better to have some emotions than none at all, better than having a robot face. It somehow must be expressed. I just gave my opinion. So please respect that. People see things at different levels. I did not insult her what so ever, it's just normal dancing.

Yeah I agree. I didn't mean that she was a bad dancer. I just think that expressing your dancing also by emotions really adds more to the dance, and you look at it at a whole different level. I don't mean waaayyy too much facial drama as dana, but something expressed with the face really makes you feel the dance more. I am always smiling a lot and flirting a little bit when I dance, and that's what I get most compliments on.
That's what I need to get!! And outfit that has a super-thick waistline to accentuate the moves!! I'm learning belly dancing and it looks so much better the more stuff you have on your hips =^_^=
@RainPoetry this instrument is not a an indian Tabla, The "tablah", sometimes referred to as a "dumbek" or "darabuka", is the lead percussion instrument in traditional Egyptian Arabic music. Although the two drums share some similar techniques they are very different instruments.
Ofcourse this is belly dancing. The shimmies she does with her hips are actually difficult to learn but she does it pretty naturally... I like it, and her costume is great.

I don't know what some of you know about oriental dance but her isolation is perfect!! Dancers should be judged by their performance, not by nationality..

most of russian belly dancers are from the white russian, not from the east soviet union time,,after the fall of soviet union, some russian girls came to arab countries, and learn belly dance, and many arab countries become conservative,and russian girls made the job of arab belly dancers, till now in cairo, beirut and dubai,and i think also in other places

well, don't wanna go into it too much, but I was really surprized at the new law discussion in Gulf News newspaper. The law was about forbidding women-tourists to wear mini-skirts and sleevless tops in z shopping malls. Local men were commenting z article, saying that tourists have to be decent and have to respect their culture. Yet most of locals have z mistresses, who wear this type of clothes. So this discussion sounded a bit hypocrytic.
your right about the break dancing among americans. but I would have to disagree about belly dancing in arab weddings. I mean ive seen many seperated weddings and party events where women belly dance although they arent really good. but its not in anyway disrespectful (as long as there are no men around) And as to the russian trend. . . you can find a great number of russians in the middle east so its really not surprising to find they adopt certain aspects of the arab culture.

@1945revolution I didn't knew that dancing is something very secret that only lucky bunch of people gets to see it over their lifetime :) Whatever anyway, but as you criticize her dancing in this case, you better provide solid backup for your critics, otherwise you just look like the rest of naysayers on youtube. It is easy to say that you suck at something, but without a suggestion how to do it better it is worthless comment.

Has for the date, look at it closer. In 1945; in 1945, Palestine was occupied by the Isreali settlers with the help from others, and we lost our country. Revolution, represents who I am, a person that fights for her country. I am from Palestine, so again if I am going to argue about anything, it will be over something important.

most of russian belly dancers are from the white russian, not from the east soviet union time,,after the fall of soviet union, some russian girls came to arab countries, and learn belly dance, and many arab countries become conservative,and russian girls made the job of arab belly dancers, till now in cairo, beirut and dubai,and i think also in other places

lol relax everyone, I can say whatever i want about bellydancing, it's my culture my background. i am arabic we grow up dacing that's like flaminco for spanich or samba for south americans. bellydancing is an arabic thing part of our culture, yes people can dance i could care less i just made a friendly comment.

you made an excellent ponit. no most arabs don't dance like that at weddings it's considered disrespectfull to act in a seductive way and act overly sexual in a large masss of people. then again breakdance is amerrican staple yet few people can do it correctly. my comment was:

A question to lulu... So you're arabic? I've been living in UAE for a while and can admit i like ur culture. Ecpecially when it comes to showing affection in privacy, not publicly. Really, I like that.
But also I have noticed that 90% or local men cheat on their local wives. Almost all of them have mistresses. How do you women tolerate this? Are you ok with that or still you're jelaous?

well, don't wanna go into it too much, but I was really surprized at the new law discussion in Gulf News newspaper. The law was about forbidding women-tourists to wear mini-skirts and sleevless tops in z shopping malls. Local men were commenting z article, saying that tourists have to be decent and have to respect their culture. Yet most of locals have z mistresses, who wear this type of clothes. So this discussion sounded a bit hypocrytic.

your right about the break dancing among americans. but I would have to disagree about belly dancing in arab weddings. I mean ive seen many seperated weddings and party events where women belly dance although they arent really good. but its not in anyway disrespectful (as long as there are no men around) And as to the russian trend. . . you can find a great number of russians in the middle east so its really not surprising to find they adopt certain aspects of the arab culture.
