Overrated... This guy is WAY overrated. OK, he is technically very good, but where the fuck is his sense of style and emotion? He's got nothing on HIM's Mikko Lindström, Whitesnake's Reb Beach and Doug Aldrich or Steve Vai. OK. Some people are gonna ask me why I picked these guys. First of all, Linde: Maybe tehcnically a lot simpler than Alexi, but he can jam with style and emotion. You can hear the emotion in every single note. Doug is FAST AND STYLISH. And Steve is a real virtuoso, all the way

Alexi does play with emotion, the problem is the only emotion he seems to express is anger/aggression. all of the guitarists you mentioned are very talented guitarists, especially steve vai. However, in my opinion, the one guitarists that combines technical playing and emotional playing is buckethead.

I won't give him any undeserved credit. Still he is nothing compared to Hendrix, Vai, Malmsteen, Aldrich, Beach, etc... I'll give him credit as a musical genius when he really is one. I've heard lots of improved solos in my young life and still Laiho doesn't impress me one bit. Yes, he is good. Vai is better. Yes he is fast, Malmsteen is even faster.

He bought one of Jiris old rr's (the white pinstriped one) in a pawn shop. None of alexi's guitars ever had single coils, but 2 of Roope's do (and its a jackson single coil, not sd). Also, he continued to use both of his jacksons after FTR, until they were stolen in 2002.

i mean to say he bought roope's guitars, but it was through someone else (interview with ultimate guitar). he got his first custom shops during the hatebreeder days, it think. they were stolen in 2003, and the green bevel one WAS roope's originally.

hm, i don't think so. i work at a music store and do the jacksons and the ESPs. of course the cheaper jackson models, e.g. RR3 are not top notch quality, but ckeck out the RR5 and the RR24. they beat the shit out of every ESP.

yes the rr24 looks like a great guitar, looks sweet too, but I use fixed bridges, and the RR5 is nice but only has 22 frets, so i can find the ideal jackson that has 24 frets a fixed bridge and a rhoads shape
