  • RIP DIVA

  • I miss you LADY TEE and know that you are back home with "OUR CREATOR" in your true spiritual body doing HIS WORK. It's been 1 year and 3 days since you passed on and the promise I made myself to listen to your music everyday I fulfilled. The second promise was to complete my collection of all you CD's and that was fulfilled also. I haven't grown tired of listening to your music and I doubt I ever will. Thank-you from a true fan !!!!!!!!

  • I wish Teena never mentioned how she got hooked on vicotin because alot of people think that she was a junkie. If you listen to the interview in the begining she said she was around alot of people doing wrong things that hurt thier vocals. Vicotin was prescribed by her doctor. It's not like she was smoking crack. Teena was very depressed about Rick James dying. She human like everyone else. Come on people she was and always will be a beautiful person. Don't judge until you walked in her shoes!!

  • @vumann40 And remember she was only on that because a sub zero fridge had fallen on her. I get so sick of people saying she was on drugs her entire career. It's so stupid, they only come to that assumption because she knew rick james. The fuck? LOL Everyone knows a crack head in their life, does that mean we're all on crack too? I love your post though!

  • @Memelisciousxoxox U r so right my friend. I forgot about a frig fallen on her. People r just plain ole assholes. Like how Whitney Houston just passed. Already crude remarks, jokes about her death. No respect n people r people don't judge give hugs and pray for the person that he or she beats the demon. It must feel real good to judge and have a perfect life. People that make those rude remakrs r so fucked up n misserable so they have 2 make themselves feel better by putting down other people.

  • @vuman40a Those sub zero fridges are HUGE too and Tee was tiny. People just want to have bullshit to say because they wish they could sing like Teena or are mad because they didn't get a chance to know Teena. It's pathetic. I didn't know her but I got to know her through her songs in which various ones she has sang about turning down drugs. "Emerald City" and "Help young blood get to the freaky party" just to name a few.

  • i loved her speaking voice and most of all her singing voice. she was soooooooo freaking talented, it's crazy that she's gone.

  • R.I.P Teena Marie..you will be forever missed.

  • Doin' drugs and doin' the Bible as well.....a deadly mix.

  • @kax61 You know before u start making comments get your facts straight. Read my comment and memelisciousxoxox above. Teena took very good care of her vocals she didn't drink and abuse drugs. You try having a frig fall on u and see if you can handle the pain. Whitney did the crack and her voice went to hell which is ashame. I still wouldn't make stupid comments about Whiney either n here u r not knowing facts n shooting off shit from your mouth. FLUSH IT AND STUFF IT.. Mister know it all!! NOT!!

  • @kax61 Apparently you didn't watch this interview thoroughly.

  • Teena Marie was a beautiful person inside and out....i loved her spirit, and it White people can't seem to look pass who she dated and what she sang, to give her the created that she rightfully deserved ...but when our black singer turn to rock and pop and marrying white men, like Tina Tuner and Diana Ross and ect... they can surely accept them and comend their Talent as Great ! thats is so CRAPPY!!

  • sounds like she had some evil spirit maybe rick following her in the spirit world. he was with her.

  • LIKE whitney houston.. but we not mentionning No dam names.. I love Tenna Marie. I know we all miss her. she is was beautiful

  • She was the most beautiful soul. Jesus, thank you for giving us the joy of Teena's music. As she herself wrote "Art is long, but life is short." I still mourn her passing, but I know she's with Rick now, and I know that her purpose on this earth was FULFILLED, and her music will live FOREVER!

  • Teena said: "When people go on its really just us you know, their really set free at this point; you know but its us just missing them." I guess that's why I am missing you Tee. :(

  • Awesome, talented, underappreciated Lady T! God Bless her wherever she is now.

  • I love you Teena..Thank you for your gifts..Your right..Now it's just us..

  • I didn't know she died!!!Now she is with "her boy". RIP both of you dear Marie and Ricky....Thanks for the music.

  • Color is meaningless to God. Do some of you actually think there will be a color of skin in Heaven? I love Teena Marie's remark about Rick being tired...I hope he is at rest along with Teena. I for one look forward to a life free of discrimination and bigotry. God must be so sad to see what has happened to His creation.

  • All those great songs you heard on the radio came from a multi-talented woman ozzing with love and soul.I could listen to her music all day I noticed that Blogs seem to attract a lot of very, very negative people. Just ignore them, Being negative is their only claim to fame.. B.E.

  • RIP Teena & Rick

  • my late sister Mary loved Teena ..I hope they get to meet up there

  • It is nice to know she had a relationship with the Lord.

  • at least LADY T is with RICK now

  • Teena was just talented all around. and a boundary breaker in many cases. I always felt that soul music was whatever moved your soul regardless of what color skin the artist had-or what genre the music was. and listening to this interview now, realizing the accidents were maybe now a part of this since they beget the seizures, you can see exactly how soulful and deeply she felt.

everybody misses Teena, not just Black folks, white people like myself-all of us. everyone of every color. <3

  • Teena Marie! I Love You! R.I.P. THANK YOU for the memories!

  • It is so amazing that know matter what happens to anyone it boils down to skin color. Teena was an amazing woman with amazing talent, skin color had nothing to do with it. In her genre of music she was the minority as was Jimi Hendrix in his genre. Talent is talent!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so shocked reading some of these comments. If you don't like what she said hit the thumbs down and move on. One day you will lose someone you love. Teena I will miss you. You are free. Thank you for all the memories

  • RIP Teena your now with your BOY and you two are rockin it in the heavens girl. I love you and going to miss you.... I had tickets to your concert at the Nokia Theater in LA with Keith Sweat and The Whispers.

  • This is comforting and refreshing to hear her talk about death. She is in a better place. Lady T fans shouldn't be too sad.

  • Please ignore people like this. In this world there is always an element of evil and utter meanness, but I always smile because there is still greatness and goodness too. People like this want to spark rise, but when you have people you admire who continue to beat down this non sense you will remember to not be bothered like me. So all I will do is pray for you, because my day continues to go well, regardless of your words that ultimately carry no weight :0)

  • R.I.P TEENA MARIE...YOUR MUSIC WILL LIVE ON FOREVER...SO SAD

  • @Mr070363 GO FUCK URSELF U DISRESPECTFUL BITCH TEENA MARIE HAS AN AMAZING VOICE.... U NEED YO ASS BEAT...

  • I will surely miss her! My mom introduced me to her and a lot of really good old-school singers and artists. We love her always and forever! R.I.P. Teena!

  • My sadness about Lady T's passing multiplied hearing this interview. Hearing her talk about the extremely unfortunate accidents that happened to her - a hotel picture falling off the wall and falling on her head as well as a refrigerator falling on her?!? So very sad. . I can only hope that they didn't somehow eventually lead to her demise, although it seems possible since the first incident lead to her seisures. But, she's at peace now so I'm grateful for that.

  • Now we know how the seizure started. A picture hanging on a hotel wall fell on her and a subzero refrigerator fell on her. I hope she sued the hotel for her accident.

  • Yes Teena is absolute right because although she has died she is set free and we are just missing her. In 1 Thessalonians 4;13 God says: But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye SORROW NOT, even as others which HAVE NO HOPE. for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so Them ALSO WHICH SLEEP IN JESUS will god bring with him. Sleep in peace my beautiful Teena. I am missing you; but I know that I will see you again.

  • Tina is now with her man Rick at next level.

  • @Mr070363 FUCK YOU

  • @Mr070363 That's why you're next BITCH*

  • @Mr070363 Shut the fuck up! There are a lot of people around the world who knows who Teena is and will miss her dearly! There will be generations to come who will know of her amazing voice and talent. How many ppl will miss your pathetic existence after your dusty hateful ass is gone? Think on it, you hating ass trick!

  • Like drjacklint said, drink Kool Aid.

    "Had some acccidents''

Baby, you're screwed up! And I really hope that you're in a "better place" now.

You have no idea what you're saying. Sad, but true.

  • She was ready to go in her spirit. Emotionally she probably wanted to stay around for her daughter, but I believe she was ready! She was so ready! (sniff, sniff)!

  • I "STILL" Can't Believe That She's REALLY GONE!!!!

    Te Amo Tee!

    Theresa

  • I was so sad to hear of her passing, I loved her music! She had an outstanding voice!

  • It is scary to think that a framed picture falling on you can a few years later take your life. Awful.

  • RIP Teena, beautiful woman, beautiful voice. Fuck all you pathetic haters.

  • R.I.P. Teena Marie

  • R.I.P. Beautiful Angel!

  • R.I.P. Teena. A beautiful spirit is gone but will remain with us.... We can only hope to learn by our mistakes & perhaps/probably we'll make them again!!!. No one is perfect.. She brought us joy. I have no time for the haters in this life. If you can't say anything good, then say nothing...

    She was an Amazing Lady.

  • Teena wasn't white or black she just was. She was a very wise old soul that knew and understood that our bodies are where we live and not who we are. Her talent and wisdom were a gift to the world that will live through her music forever!! RIP BABY GIRL!!

  • rip teena

  • Yikes - a subzero fridge fell on her ? How did that happen ???

  • She was Amazing.......Let her REST IN PEACE!!!!

  • That F**King Hotel picture cause Teena to have seizures .... if it was not for the picture that had fallen down on her its possibly she would still be here ..... Very heart breaking to here such.

  • That's so true...that last statement. Thanks Teena Marie, I will miss your amazing talent for sure.

  • This Lady step up on the scene and blow us away with a voice of an Angel. She didn't get half the recognition that she should have gotten. As far as her down falls in life,we all have down falls, there is no perfect person,at least every time she fall down she got up stronger. Not that color even matter ,Tina was one of the baddest chicks in the game.I will rock her music to the end of time,I gonna tell my Grand kids about a lady that change the look of soul.

@ Charger 619c You Are Such A Loser....

  • all ya likkle cunts r so damn rude...may the lady rest of peace without all the ignant comments...likkle bitches behind these computers...anyhow she was the one of the best to ever do it...cant believe she got seizures due to the painting falling on her head, that explains why they said she had a seizure before she passed. so sad.

RIP...forever my fav artist...tru n profound woman & LOL at the comment saying shame she didnt sing for the lawd!! who said she didnt? YOU, CARRY YA ASS

  • The hotel should be 100% liable for her death!

  • TOO BAD SHE DID NOT USE HER TALENT TO SING FOR THE LORD :(

  • @MrArpas12345

teena sang gospel as well ,too bad you passed judgement on her.

  • @MrArpas12345 Apparently you don't know her entire repertoire.

  • Is she black or white?

  • @myhaterz3411 ...white

  • Wow she really went before her time. R.I.P. Teena!

  • This was a great interview thank you for posting this ..

  • I was about 10 when "Square Biz" hit the airwaves in NY (WBLS). Everyone in the urban community was blown away by her "soulfullness". Her race did not matter to us. We embraced her along with other "Blue Eyed Soul Artists" like Hall & Oates, Boz Scaggs and Bobby Caldwell. Her slow jams were the sh*t when I was in high school (Ooh La, La, La, Casanova Brown, Portugese Love). She ways always respected by the R&B and Hip Hop Community. Thanks "Lady T" for your contibution to our music.

  • Jim Jones Jr.

    Drink the Kool-Aid!!

  • Sum ppl just dnt get hw poetic Lady T was whn she sang... im a freestyle poet and whn i 1st heard her sing, i think i had to b n da 7th grade...and i thot WOW dat lady and SANG.. i knew her race...but u c, Teena said n an interview dat God made her skin white for a reason and her voice soulful..she said she music is nt black or white...itz hw it makez ppl feel inside and for all of mankind to love... NUFF SAID....R.I.P. Teena Marie..

  • Sad to see people come from out like roaches to bash someone after they are dead. I followed Teena since the 70s & 1 thread in her tapestry of life she loved was the abstinence of color issues. For YEARS now her audience of all colors has appreciated her. For several yrs now here on YT people of various colors have praised her All Together. She appreciated that! Now that she is dead people want to get on her videos & post trash.We-her loyal fans refuse to get into it! Ignore trash & post praise!

  • rest in peace baby girl

  • Gosh, I did not know that we lost Teena Marie. i love her music and have some of her cds. How shocking! RIP Teena, I'll sincerely miss you and hearing your voice.

I just learned about the news today from facebook. I was hoping that it was a joke, but unfortunately it is not. I did not know that she was once on drugs and she was addicted to vicodin.

    Bye Teena

  • Why is it that the most insensitive, rude ass comments gotta come from white people?! Who gives a fuck if she was white and what type of men she dated and what drugs she took, she was a talented soul. She's a better singer than most of these modern day "singers" so back the fuck off you judgmental dickheads!

RIP Lady Tee, gone but NEVER forgotten.

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx Right on! I couldn't have said it any better! I loved Teena and her music! She will be dearly missed!

  • As one who is sick of ignorance hindering beauty, AMEN!

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx - As one who is sick of ignorance hindering beauty, AMEN!

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx , you could have not said it better!

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx Teena you are set free like you said. Now it's us. I know you are in better place. Internet talker's like the one's you said xxxWarrior, just talk behind the glass (screen). Most don't show there face anywhere else, they just go online and post negative, why? Because misery loves company and they feed on negative energy AND positive energy (like you). Poor souls.

  • Comment removed

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx Please don't hate on all of us.......I'm white and Teena was and always will be one of my favorites. No one had/has a voice like hers and you're absolutely 1000% right. Her personal life was just that. Besides her obvious mega-talent, she kept it real and honest to the very end. I'm just glad I and some friends got to see her perform when she came to Baltimore back in '01. We could've listened to her all night if possible. Peace to you;)!

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx hi, I am a white woman,so please dont judge all of us. I have loved lady t, since I was 17 years old, so that is 26 years now. I own every cd she has ever made, and albums of course. Teena Maire, stood for peace and harmony among all of us, white women, black women, gay people ,straight people, black men and white men, asians and on and on, she sings of a perfect world where we dont see people for thier color, we see thier souls, and souls do not have a color

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx only the good lord can judge us, not you punks, and we all have problems as we go through our lives, just because a person used, or uses drugs, does not mean they are bad people, in fact they are good people, sensitive people, they are,and were in pain, that is all, its too bad that some do not understand this, only god does.

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx Thank you people just have no respect for brilliant talent RIP Teena!

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx Well said!

  • @xxxWarriorGoddessxxx Why is it that the most racist comments always gotta come from black people getting baited by trolls/fakeracists.

  • Boring!

  • No, Rick James cant feel your performance, he's dead. Sorry to say it, but its true.

  • @Pjaynes781

Teena said when she sings Fire & Desire a duet with Rick James that no here is not there to sing it with her but she feels him spiritually and the audience recognizes it because it comes across in her singing ...so the audience is pumped spiritually and musically........it is obvious that you don't understand

  • @Kamiosis Get a clue dude. I've been recording and performing music my entire life. I pay my bills from the money I earn performing. Dont assume things about people Captain Idiot.

You dont get it, she said, "When she feels the roar of the crowd, HE can feel it".......NO, HE cant, the crowd can, but he cant.

  • @Pjaynes781 you're lame for that.

  • @2zion13 Tell you the reality of the situation makes me lame? I dont think so.

  • God sure did have a special place for her cuz she had one of the best voices in the industry

  • love her!

  • Thanks for sharing the video. Beyond the music she seem to be a very deep thinker. Love to family and friends!! Ciao

  • rip enjoy the next level

  • @charger619c If you feel that way. Why bother to comment or watch.

  • rude comments man i dont get it everybody has a story and u can trash her for what know the truth before yall make a smart comment again dang shes gone r.i.p ms deja vu yall think people read the comments what her family saw this man yall dont think

  • For me you will be missed. Tell Rick hi. Rest In Peace Ms Teena

  • @charger619c Your Face.

  • @charger619c Upset that she accomplished more in her life then you could even dream of accomplishing? Yes you are! I'm sure you've contributed as much to society as your comment has. But keep on hating. I'm sure it's the only thing your good at.

  • @andreo Well said,these ignorant fucks.

  • @charger619c - Is your life THAT empty that you have to make ignorant comments like that?

  • I bet she did mountains of cocaine back in the day.

Must have been a fun life.

  • @6663000 She didn't. That's why she left Rick James because he did and she didn't.

  • @6663000

Didn't you hear her say that she was around people who hurt their gift and she knew that was not a way to go however in 2004 she had a picture fall on her head which started her to have seizures and also she fell off a stage and she became addicted to pain killer Vicodin...which she kicked cold turkey...she died because of a grand mal seizure.....May she Rest In Peace.....believe me Teena was all about her music and very dedicated to her daughter she was not ready to leave us

  • she had a lot of stuff falling on her........

  • We miss you Mama white chocolate!
