Went to the "Happy together" tour show July 10, 2011 the Grass

Roots were supposed to play and the band made an announcement about Rob being in the hospital and that he needed our prayers, didn't know how bad it was I was just disappointed that Rob wouldn't be there singing. How I wish he had gotten well again, what a great talent and great guy. Rest in Peace Rob you were one of the best

Rob Grill dead? This breaks my heart. A great singer/musician and an all around nice guy. He seemed to be in good health. Anyone know - did he have health related issues in his life before the stroke(?) ?

@bws1957 Rob had a degenerative bone disease for many years which resulted in several hip replacements. This past June, he suffered brain injury due to a fall and a stroke soon after...was in a coma before he passed away :(

Thank you for that information. I was wondering because videos taken over the years shows that he seemed to be in a lot of pain. still had the same spirit.  Thanks again for sharing. Any idea about the scar near the corner of his lip?

Great rare live clip. Band was rockin' and brass section too. Most Grass Roots video clips are lip syncs from old TV shows or from the last 10 yrs when Rob wasn't always at his best. This captures him in top vocal form. RIP Rob, you were not given the praise you deserve as a lead vocalist.
