About 15.4% of San Francisco's population is gay according to wiki. I'm pretty sure the number is about 3-5% using a strict definition of "gay", I think you can inflate the number to ten times that amount if you want to include every self-reported bi-curious person as "gay".

It's also a fact that people who use the term "gay mafia" are in fact coming out of the closet to admit that they are completely retarded.

this shows the propagandist effects of the Gay Mafia's influence in Hollywood... since homosexuality is ALL OVER the television and in the movies... and because gays are represented in these media FAR ABOVE their actual representation in the general population (10 percent or less).

Wonder what the percentage would be with respect what Americans would believe is the Jewish representation in society (since they are represented in the media above their true percentage in the population).

regardless of how informed a person is with respect to understanding statistics and percentages, that has NOTHING to do with what they believe might be the gay community's representation in the population as a percentage; this OPINION would be based on the IMPRESSIONS they get according to how much T.V. they watch, what part of the country they live in, their friends, gender, age, religious inclinations...

"JUST YOUR BEST GUESS, what percent of Americans today would you say are gay or lesbian???"

Pray tell what does, evolution, God or understanding statistics have to do with a person GUESSING what they feel is a PROBABLE percentage of gays according to their OPINIONS (not knowledge) which would be INFLUENCED by their surroundings, the media and the messages that society promotes??

a) what quantifiable, academic evidence do you have that those who were questioned knew nothing about percentages?

b) even if they knew EVERYTHING about statistics how is that going to help them GUESS and OPINE about what they believe is the possible percentage of gays in the general population if they are not given DATA (there are X gays out of a Y population, therefore Z equals)?

c) What therefore will be the BASIS for their GUESS? the media, their friends, their experiences,etc

I mightt add, a definition of "gay" was not given in the video and we do not know if gay was defined to the responders... therefore, what "gay" might be different according to different individuals (for example, a person who kissed someone of the same sex may be considered gay to one person and not so to another... a person may never had any gay encounters but if he had "tendencies" he might be called gay).

And thus a person's percentages might vary according to how strict they define gay
