  • shit quality, why even bother??

  • was this shot with a calculator or somthin

  • @XXxxazinatorxxXX with a potato, to be more precise...

  • fire breathing? more like fire farting

  • yeah badass but that cars never going to be able to put that to the ground to much power here.

  • recorded with a potato........

  • 853rwhp...Yes, I can ALMOST believe it... from my experience, I can confirm that the flames are as a result of an over rich condition on throttle close...Which is essential to cool the combustion chamber, if you want the engine to continue living that is..However, that horse-power would be at maximum RPM..Mid range rpm (4k) more likely less than 300hp) .Oh well, life's a compromise..I much prefer a SCREW-COMPRESSOR and produce ruler flat torque right across the rev-range..Been there done that

  • @phoenix11994466 its obviously a track tune, if you want low down torque just take a standard model

    anyhow aircooled LoL that's impressive

  • @blehtubezzz Thanks for your comment, but I can't make a lot of sense of it...You do understand it's a track car, that's clear, however the heads are actually water cooled on GT's....Also your suggestion to just take a standard model if you want more torque, is confusing to say the least.

  • @phoenix11994466 just take a standard model for low down torque ie turbo's not being oversized,

but its setup for the track so who cares about the low down power, turbo's are just a cheaper option,

set them up properly and they will maintain their spool, and provide access to power lower in the rev range,

  • @blehtubezzz Sounds good to me

  • Probably got a Supra stuck in its valve.

  • @ladygodia lost the Supra 1/4 miles ago

  • I think that might be bad...

  • Did you record this with a toaster?

  • no way, air cooled? I expected it to be cooled with unicorn anal dust that has been fermenting in a bottle of santa claus piss after a hard night of drinking eggnog

  • Thank god this video has good quiality.

  • @pulledtrigger2studio Thank god you can spell quality.

  • @jcamshep lol shafted.

  • eventho dynojets are the furthest from the truth dynos. . . thats close to 975 at the crank. Gotta love porsche. Wonder what the head temps are at full song

  • Now that's afterburn!

  • what did you record this with? your gameboy?

  • These guys did my brothers 1992 Hennessey Dodge Stealth GT Twin Turbo and it got up to 360hp at 2800rpm when it started skipping on the dyno and the test was aborted. I can't even imagine how high it would have gone if the test completed normally. Yes, they actually built a car too strong for their dyno folks.

  • dont try this at home

  • would be better with a higher quality

  • Just think, your sisters VW bug has this same potential lol

  • Flame kit on?

  • it's just gasoline getin out into the exaust

  • @cetinGT yeah, i'm sure your civic is much better right? probably makes like 1500 horsepower on stock internals??? or is it more??? jesus christ, stop hatin' and put some videos up of your car if it is indeed better

  • short and sweet

  • That thing is not smog legal.

  • Dragon ass Porsche.. i like that.

  • ruf??

  • bye bye anything driving behind that bad boy!

  • as if you could get close enough

  • Bye bye paint on the rear bumper

  • I honestly don't understand the thumbs up and downs going on during this video.

  • damn a fire breathing porsche i drive that

  • you would want to.

  • heftig

  • SUPER

  • i have never been a fan of porches but i go like the 993

  • the best

  • who cares?

    nice vid, nice porsche,

  • german car power

  • this is why porsche will always be king

  • grab the marshmellows

  • hahaha nicee :]

  • yeah why not

  • you breath through your mouth. on a car, the mouth would be the intake, not the exhaust.

    so.

    this car shits fire.

  • musta ate some habeneros

  • smartass haha

  • no, we inhale and exhale through our mouths--- thats what it means to breath fire.

i don't know about you, maybe every time you take a breath, you exhale through your ass, hhahah i don't know...

  • whatever dumbass

  • EXPLOSIVE DIARRHEA!!!

  • @volldegineorigional ohh man is a mess all over the walls when u ended

  • So dragons do exist...?

  • yeah they do... they also have skyline dragons rofl

  • Just dont light that bumper on fire!.

  • Why do people comment when they don't even know what they are talking about?

  • They comment because their ability to use Wikipedia is so astounding, they can't keep it to themselves!

  • shnikel batt

  • styga1969, you're a dumbass. Unburned fuel washes oil off the cylinder bores AND the pistons and rings. There's nothing wrong with his statement. And, you mean to say, "didn't KNOW."

  • oh wow dude!

  • LOSER

  • ok professor didnt no piston and rings had bores??

  • The unburnt fuel from the throttle being slammed shut is usually ignited by the hot turbocharger, but, the oxygen is needed that is outside the tailpipe. This car is of course running rich, hence the flames, but this a way of suppressing detonation so it isn't running too rich. Running too rich actually reduces power but this is a price we have to pay for reliability. Running way too rich robs even more power and can actually wash oil away from the bores and wear the rings and pistons.

  • the turbo dosen't ignite the fuel as there is not enough o2 to burn, it is the heat of the fuel exhaust mixture when it meets o2 that causes ignition

  • So this won't ruin the turbo?

  • nope, wont hurt the turbo, but it would poison the cat if it had one, but any car that blows flames like this probably doesn't. (it would plug up REALLY fast)

P.S. anyone with reasonable engine questions, msg me, i'm a mechanic and not a "wiki-searcher" like so many others. Peace. (except dick heads :)

  • @timbr33 Mr Mechanic... let me run this by you really quick:

1 car, 2 engines, 2 sets of transmissions (fwd and rwd) controlled by two gear sticks, 2 ignitions with 2 seperate keys... Possible?

  • @MasterTenku yes

  • @MasterTenku it's possible to build, but impossible to drive... only a perfect moron would build it ^^ XD

  • @SliKdaASS Using only 1 engine at a time with the other sat in neutral?

  • @MasterTenku well, U could, maybe, drive it like that, but where's the purpose to it then...? But U could built it with 1 key, and 1 gear stick, but U already know it XD

  • @SliKdaASS I think that has already been done, wasn't it built for Pikes Peak?

  • @nathan911turbo

    with everything separated? O.o

    dont know...

  • @SliKdaASS Never actually seen one but I'm sure I read about it somewhere. Not sure how it worked I'm afraid... Maybe it was only done for good weight distribution and awd.

  • @nathan911turbo I saw that car... And I saw some dual engine cars... But never even heard of a car with two gear sticks...

  • @SliKdaASS I read a hotrod magazine quite a few years back that tested readers builds, a guy had a hyundai scoupe or tiburon with two turbo'd engines each controlled by separate auto trans, they said he did some wicked burnouts by placing front in drive and rear in reverse and stomping it

  • @flenny ok, an auto tranny is a different story... I didnt thought of that, I was thinking only about an manual xD my bad

  • @SliKdaASS yeah a manual would be tricky...would need some pretty quick feet to shift that sucker!

  • @flenny yeah.. here in croatia there is a few cars with 2 engines and are manual... but both gearboxes are linked to one shiftstick... and its working like a charm :)

  • @flenny that tiburon competed in the very first sport compact car magazine uscc

  • @nathan911turbo Google pikes peak cultus dual engine

  • This car is a 1974 911. The car did not have a cat from new and therefore does not need one to pass any tests. Anybody tuning a car for performance would not want to fit a cat to it. Actually, running rich, which a turbocharged aircooled 911 engine needs would ruin a cat anyway. That is why cars with cats have 02 sensors...

  • Are you sure it's a 1974 911? Type 993 didn't come out till the 90's.

  • they have o2 sensors to emable the ecu to hold the correct mixture, not to protect the cat! geez maybe read a book or take a course

  • If the mixture is not kept at Lambda, the cat will die.

What you stated was too obvious to mention IMO.

  • @nathan911turbo Definitely not a 1974 model year.

  • Comment removed

  • @evbono I'm afraid it is. Seems this car has had a lot done to it. I have an '81 that looks '91 with a later transmission and some engine upgrades.

  • Geezus fucking christ !

  • gah seå räkkä

  • That looks like RUF 993 Turbo !

  • 959 my bad !

  • porsche 955 is the ultimate best ! check it out looks too sick!

  • backdraft

  • all 911's from the mid nineties have cats!

  • briggs and straton...5 HP

  • xxD

  • It's FUCKING HILLARIOUS that someone who owns a 4-banger cyl. buggy says it sounds like a lawnmower. Talk about irony.

It only sounds bad because of the horrible camera mic.

  • i think that car might have ALS.. it just puts unburned fuel and air thru the exhaust to keep the turbo spinnin between shifts and wen ur rpms get really low quickly.. the when the spark plug ignites the fuel and air in the cylinder.. the hear carries thru to the fuel and air in the exhaust. Or the cat burns it up.

  • nah, an ALS system would be a big loud BANG out the exhaust pipe, not a slow burning flame. Apparently rotaries are bad for flaming out like that. It's due to a build up of unburnt gas in the exhaust being ignited by the heat, and slowly burns like that when the rpms are down or the engine get's cut off

  • that aint a rotary engine.. But ur prolly rite. u think its the catalytic converter doin that?

  • well actually this vid is about a turbo system.. maybe the ALS system wasnt installed correctly

  • No, its not an ALS system this is an older Porsche, the new turbos have ALS stock and another fast-spool system stock but this car does not have ALS. Due to it being a rear-engined car and thus exhaust pipes being shorter the unburnt gas m4x mentioned is more concentrated immediatly behind the car and when it is igniited by outside sources (which will happen a lot more often in a dyno than on the street) will burn. ALS exhaust flames also come from within the exhaust pipe not behind it like this

  • ooooh actually that makes alot of sense, the exhaust manifold is MUCH shorter, so there isnt enough room to hide all this. But with the exhaust piping so much shorter, is there room for a cat?

  • yeah they have a cat. . . wouldnt pass emissions . . . unless they use something else but it would still be the same

  • nope, 911s dont have a cat

  • Then what???? Omg does it have a cat or not?? how can it even consider passing an e-test without one???

  • sorry mate i spoke to soon,

i know 996 and 997 porsches dont have cats

this looks like a 993 and i dont know if they do or do not have cats

996/7s are considered VERY environmentally friendly even without cats

  • Actually this one does not have cats. It's 3" SS piping from turbos in to muffler & out. This one is actually a 74 model with 993 widebody so no emissions required. This car is also equipped with FAST EFI sequential unit which allows amazing tunning abilities. No ALS on this car just a lot of custom fabrication and know how oh yea and 90% of parts which you wont find at your local performance shop.

PS. If you spit the case open on this one the only DNA you will find is Mikes & mine! ONLY!

  • a stock one does have a cat this one does not.

  • Tare is nothing stock about this actual car. Nothing!

    It's a 1974 911 with 993 wide body carbon fiber.

RSR case with Andial 3.8L conversion with twin plug heads. 993TT 6SPD box w Tilton triple carbon. 996TT Big Reds, Kinesis 28R's, Fast EFI, double Bosh 044 with 96lbs injectors, Huge intercooler and 3" 6061 piping threw out.

Garrett twin GT37RS by Tod Kaneko. Dual Tial 46mm WG & 50mm BOVs. 2 MSD Digital 7 boxes. 300M custom axles. The only original thing in this is the 74 Chassis & VIN.

  • is this air cooled?

  • Yes!

  • my friends dad tunes these he owns CET racing if you have ever heard of it, his name is Al he tunes these sooo good it's unreal.

  • You could just use a test pipe to get by emissions, you wouldn't always need to have a cat on your car. Maybe it's a track only car and in most states that means the car doesn't even need to be registered/titled.

  • some states do not require a cat, muffler only, even then for most states requiring cats but doesn't do emissions testing its as easy as a broom handle and a hammer....

  • This is in California though. They have extremely strict emissions standards. My comment was in response to the kid who asked "How this would ever pass emissions?" Meaning they most likely have a test pipe and they only put the cat on for the e-testing. However, you're right. Most states don't require emissions testing.

  • any car can do it with sum fuel in the exhaust pipe

  • Drop in a little propane

    A little compressed air

    Lite it off

And I can Guarantee the guy behind you will get off your bumper.

MAKE SURE the guy following to close IS NOT A Police Officer

  • that happened to my mates datsun ute.

  • shibbiwiggles is right. blowers give more hp at lower revs, thus better acceleration but turbos are more efficient and better for adding mph.

  • joder ay se puede asar un pollo

  • actually turbo,s are the way to go if some of u would do research before u type a blower takes crank power to spin, turbos use exhaust psi being more efficient and not robbing power to add power

  • i was kidding man

  • Dude the Titan Supra is in the NHRA and it runs low 7's. Turbo technology has caught up these days. Nowdays, even very large turbo's can be spooled up by smaller engines fairly quickly.

  • Yeah I know, but I'm saying for real drag cars, which are high displacement. In Top Fuel and Funny Car divisions blowers are dominant.

  • or cause thats what the rules mandate. lmao! n00b...

  • blowers are only dominant in divisions where turbos aren't permitted.

  • Big turbos still cant be spooled very quickly. The Titan supras fastest run ever is a 7.71, thats not a low 7. But the only way to get off the line without lagging themselves into a high 8 is with a 2step, You still need a bigger motor to spool bigger turbos.

  • that's why twins were invented

  • my mums a blower

  • LOL that was random

  • hehe my balls r on fire

  • i want that porsche in my life. i want 1000hp in my life.

  • the fire is caused by a misinterpretation of air coming into the engine by ways of air meter detecting airflow from the turbo intake side still spinning from the exhaust, therefore creating a overly rich mixture when throttle is in closed position igniting unburnt fuel into atmoshere, morons

  • You`re my hero

  • um who the fuck cares? its neat

  • yup, i call it over-hang, thats why blowers are better dude... whay waste fuel by turnin it into gay flames when it could be power..

  • un burned fuel that runs into exuast then is ignited the next time the spark plugs fire

  • what causes the flames????

  • Spark my blunt of them flames there, lol and touch up my brows.

  • nice dragon

  • The flames are high because the fan pointing to the engine gives more Oxygen -.-, And yeah the car is fine

  • erm.. it's unavoidable.. caused by high lift cams.. valve overlap and turbocharging cause these flames.. it shows the engine is running safely :D

  • that is a good thing when it comes to tuning a car because its a sign of the engine getting more than enough fuel. if you run an engine too lean you risk melting the pistons or even worse damage!

  • running an engine lean means the engine is underfuelled, and yes that can lead to piston or valve melting or even detonation, but "getting more than enough fuel" means the engine is running rich and can cause over cooling and which is also a horrible thing for an engine.

  • too much fuel as results in piston wash witch means no oil lubrication i think but not sure?. how do you check for the right fuel amount.?

  • The way i've always done it is by sound.the idle will be rough or choppy if its too far in either direction, you listen carefully and at the point where the idle is best, thats where it should stay. You can also smell the exhaust, to find out if its rich or lean. so i've heard. my nose is always too stuffy and i dont exactly wanna go sniffing exhaust lol.

  • Of course the fire is from unburned fuel...what else would it be, lol! Ya it needs a tune but i'd rather be a little rich than a little lean...

  • Yep. Rally cars do this all the time because throttle manipulation is such a huge part of WRC driving. Definitely not a backfre; this is a normal occurance in performance driving.

  • It's often anti-lag that causes this in turbo rally cars - the fuel combusts in the exhaust system when you back off the throttle to keep the turbo spooled up. Makes the firecracker sounds.

  • Is there an igniter/ spark plug to ignite these anti lag systems?

  • No, well not any additional ones at least. There is a great explanation on Wikipedia - look up 'anti-lag' and it comes straight up. I've co-driven an STi WRX rally car with anti-lag... only problem was that it wasn't running correctly and made the car idle at 5000rpm! Sure makes 'backing off into a corner' different...

  • Great looking car... but needs a tune up. The so-called fire breathing comes from unignited gasoline leaving the engine and igniting in the exhaust system. Usually occurs after quickly letting your foot off the throttle after hard acceleration.

  • Sort of like a backfire.

  • sort of not like a backfire. Backfire is when the gas in the block ignites INSIDE the block. VERY VERY loud bang. This you are seeing is "afterburn". Gas in the cat is being set on fire due to heat.

Car doesnt need a tune up. If anything, that car is running on the safe side by using more gas then needed. More gas also helps cool the engine. something important on the 995's.

You look like you are trying to be smart, but you are just coming off as a pompous dick.

  • LOL yeah I agree it needs a tune up, even though it makes well over 850hp to the tires, and is the highest air cooled Porsche on the planet.

  • With air cooling, do u uprate the cooling fan when u get this kind of power?

    Does it melt the bumper?!!

  • no you do not, and no it does not melt the bumper either.

  • thumbs up, you know what your talking about lol!

  • that is so bad, especially for the porche...since the engine is in the back...if that engine is on fire...god knows what will happen after that

  • this car currently holds the air cooled RWHP record (859RWHP) @ 26psi. Actually most cars do NOT remove the exhaust system to dyno as the exhaust system help to scavenge the gases away from the motor which actually produces more HP that without an exhaust. We dyno cars here at the shop everyday, on our 1500hp 424X DynoJet dyno and most cars never produce fire at the tailpipe.

is that dynojet calibrated? sad if it wasnt cause those numbers wouldnt be correct.

  • Are you crazy?

  • So are superchargers then. How can it be fake horsepower? N00b.

  • go back to school fool

  • Yo! Turbo Mikes car is bad ass! When I lived in LA 7 years ago that was the BADDEST ASS Turbo around, knows a couple of my boys in Whittier (TURBO TONY) ,Mikes shop was out

there first.. And all you supra boys? Bring it y'all aint

    got 'nuttin commin! Bert

  • Porsche 993 turbo the best car Porsche have ever turned out...simply brilliant and scary.
