  • He's so good live.

  • Ben Folds obviously loved this.

  • @tommyrock69 Yep. One Angry Dwarf is a rewrite of this, basically.

  • "Sad that he's so under-appreciated. If he looked like Sting he would be huge."

Does bad teeth make you sing in key? Or sing better? Or make you look unlike Sting?

  • man that guy is on fire, and he sets the whole atmosphere on fire with his incredible presence, sting hasnt got that power!and i dont think sting is good looking either, dimples? bono? uugghh!!!

  • This must have been around the time when he got rid of the guitar in his band and went keyboard on us. How disappointed I was. This song was meant to be played on a guitar. Sorry, just my opinion. Still love Joe though.

  • @HumGuitar This song was played in the Night and Day tour 1982

  • I can't stop tapping my foot, it's so catchy!! :D

By the way, as a member of the latest generation, I would like to apologize on behalf of my generation for Justin Bieber and the like. Our bad.

  • @DNAngel2009 you,re excusedHAHA;-),you are not to blame, and Biebers have to be there too, something for everyone ;-) if their not really talented they just disappear from the scene, and guys like this are here to staay ;-)))

  • @Choefoe Bring on all the Justin Biebers and Lady GaGa's you want.... we know what we like and what will last!!! LOL

  • @evelynmh we sure do ;-)

  • WOW! I recorded the original BBC/Radio 1 'Sight & sound' programmes when first broadcast!

    Any more from this gig?

  • I still love Joe's music, as well as XTC, Costello, and all the better music from the late 70's and early 80's. But there are brilliant acts out now like St Vincent and Fleet Foxes. Have a listen and a look on youtube.

  • Love Joe Jackson, what an unsung hero!

  • I still play his CASSETTES on my car stereo. Thanks for posting a goody from my new wave hero!

  • I Don't Know How Many More Are Gunna Whatch This And Comment But.... I Heard This Song On My B-Day @ Dennys!! LMao This Song Played And It Stucked In My Head Now It's On MY Ipod Lmao! I Love The Beat And The Music!!!

  • i hope not.

  • I wonder if this song was influenced by the doors?

  • Uh...NO. Joe Jackson at the time (late 70's) was pioneering a new sound of rock/ska/punk.

  • So you don't think the organ, bassline and general vibe of the song sounds like "Riders on the Storm"? I'm familiar enough to know that Joe Jackson and Elvis Costello are the same person. Just kidding on that one, still say this sounds a lot like riders definitely on this live version, not as much on the studio version.

  • @kemicon I can hear Riders definitely.

  • great :D!

  • my only 'new wave' hero

  • MINE TOO! Joe and Elvis Costello! Individualists are a rarity in today's music.

  • As much a I will always love Joe's, Mr. Costello's and XTC's, music, one of the newer acts I've taken a liking to is St Vincent. Her music is brilliant and has some welcome menace to it at times. She's one of the more unique acts out now. She has videos on youtube.

  • Fan-f'n-tastic

  • on your radio on your radio. nice man thanks for posting.

  • Great song. I love Joe Jackson. Sad that he's so under-appreciated. If he looked like Sting he would be huge.

  • I truly don't mean to be rude but perhaps your comment is a bit unfair.Joe Jackson was and remains very popular. I think he is quite cute!

  • @Nigelxman Yeah that's true ...but even Sting doesn't look like Sting anymore. LOL

  • @sohooded Yeah Sting has morphed into kind of a weird looking dude. :-) And then there's his solo shit. Yikes.

  • @Nigelxman So true...Sting is balding and bloated looking.. Some people age better than others.

  • @Nigelxman You're right man ! That's too bad...

  • Nice!
