The granite for the Logan temple came from a quarry in Green Canyon, about 3-5 miles away. It took teams of men and oxen, at times Brigham Young himself, to haul about 4 stones to the temple site per day. The more intricate work around the windows and doors is hand-carved sandstone.
In the early 1900's a fire destroyed a large part of the third floor, as well as an ornate spiral staircase in the Northeast (if I remember correctly) corner tower.
Gettin married there! It so pretty, plus it will be great with my vintage theme!

Hi, I've seen this temple once in my life. I was wondering if anyone knew why it was modeled like a castle? I find it intriguing. Thanks.
